Effect of ZnO-based nanophotocatalyst on degradation of aniline. J Mol Model 2021; 27:92. Abstract
In this research, a zinc oxide/copper oxide/graphene oxide (ZnO/CuO/GO) nanophotocatalyst was synthesized for photodegradation of aniline as a pollutant, upon exposure to ultraviolet light (UV). Three variables including initial aniline concentration, the nanophotocatalyst dosage, and pH were designed. The statistical test and optimal conditions were determined. The consequences specified that the optimum values of pH, initial aniline concentration, the dosage of nanophotocatalyst, and the reaction time were 6, 150 ppm, 1 g/L, and 3 h, respectively. The obtained results revealed that the photodegradation of aniline was enhanced with doping zinc oxide and CuO on the graphene oxide. Under optimal conditions, 97% photodegradation of aniline was observed. The mechanism of aniline degradation with nanophotocatalyst was evaluated by molecular dynamic (MD) graphs. The interactions between nanophotocatalysts and aniline were considered by energy, density graph.

Abstract
Abstract
In the current scenario of energy requirement and the commercialization aspect of algal biofuel and biomass, it is important that means of predicting the production be available. In this paper, the mathematical models are developed for the tubular, bubble column and airlift photobioreactors to predict the productivity of the algal biomass. A modified Monod kinetic equation, incorporating the effect of nutrient and CO2 concentrations, light availability and oxygen built-up, is used to the estimate specific growth rate of the biomass. The light availability inside the reactor is defined in terms of the modified Beer–Lambert’s law as a function of distance from the surface where light is incident and the cell mass concentration. This allows a more accurate measurement of the shading effect. The equations are solved for different reactor types and their estimated productivities are successfully validated against values available in published literature. The model predicts comparatively better productivity for the tubular reactor (1.5 g/L day) than the bubble column and airlift reactor (1.42 and 1.35 g/L day respectively) because tubular reactor has shorter light/dark cycles and better light availability. The analysis is also done to identify the effect of nutrient, carbon dioxide, light and hydrodynamics on the overall productivity.

Abstract
The aim of this work was to develop a high efficient photobioreactor for increasing biomass and lipid production in microalgae by assessment of the hydrodynamic properties and kLa which are important parameters for improving the algal cultivation efficiency. We designed three different photobioreactors (H-Shape, X-Shape and serial-column). Among them, X-Shape showed the highest hydrodynamic properties and kLa for algal cultivation. Thus, we evaluated the biomass and the lipid production in a 20L scale-up X-Shape photobioreactor. The biomass and lipid production from X-Shape photobioreactor are 1.359±0.007gL-1 and 117.624±3.522mgL-1, respectively; which are 30.05% and 23.49% higher than those from the control photobioreactor. Finally, we observed the lipid from X-Shape had high MUFAs, CN and low IV, which is suitable for high quality of biodiesel, suggesting that it can be practicably utilized for mass production of algal biofuel.

Abstract
Abstract
This work analyses the influence of different experimental conditions over important hydrodynamic parameters of a bubble column reactor, such as bubble size distribution, gas hold-up and the gas–liquid interfacial area. The influence of gas flow-rate (18–40 L h–1) and reagent concentration (0–0.5 mol L–1) in the liquid phase upon these hydrodynamic parameters have been studied. The influence of experiment time must also be taken into account due to non-steady-state regime. Under these considerations, the chemical absorption rate changes throughout time, and it produces important changes upon the global absorption process, due to modifications in the gas–liquid interfacial area. The presence of a fast reaction in the liquid bulk has the highest influence upon interfacial area.

Abstract
A bioreactor system plays an important role in tissue engineering and enables reproduction and controlled changes in the environmental factor. The bioreactor provides technical means to perform controlled processes in safe and reduced reproducible generation of time. Cartilage cells were grown in vitro by mimicking the in vivo condition. The basic unit of cartilage, that is, chondrocyte, requires sufficient shear, strain, and hydrodynamic pressure for regular growth as it is nonvascular tissue. An attempt has been made to design a novel airlift reactor for chondrocyte culture, and the reactor has been evaluated for its performance. The design includes internal loop wavy riser airlift reactor for chondrocyte culture with 5% CO2 sparging which gives a good yield of chondrocyte after 28 days. The wavy riser provides more surfaces for collision of fluid flow so to create the turbulence. Also, the horizontal semicircular baffles create an angle of 180° which helps in high shear rate. The optimized L/D ratio of the designed airlift reactor (for chondrocyte culture) is 5.67, and it also exhibits good mixing performance.

Abstract
The impact of mixing on the promotion of microorganism growth rate has been analyzed using a multiphase forced-circulation pipe-loop reactor model capable of identifying conditions under which it is possible to convert natural gas into Single-Cell Protein. The impact of mixing in the interphase mass transfer was found to exert a critical role in determining the overall productivity of the bioreactor, particularly at the high cell loadings needed to reduce the capital costs associated with the large-scale production needed for the production of relatively low-value SCP in a sustainable manner.
