Abstract
The excessive content of lead (Pb(II)) and Staphylococcus aureus (S.aureus) seriously harms the quality of aquatic products. In this paper, a highly sensitive electrochemiluminescence (ECL) biosensor was constructed using the synergistic effect of Au NPs@Nickel-Cobalt-Metal-organic frameworks (Au@Ni-Co-MOFs) and double potential resolution function of urchin-like Au@luminol and Cadmium sulfide quantum dots (CdS QDs) for synchronous detection of Pb(II) and S.aureus in aquatic products. Au@Ni-Co-MOFs as the base material, its cube structure can improve the surface active area and sensitivity of the sensor, providing more catalytic active sites for the two functional probes. Urchin-like Au@luminol binding aptamer DNA2 specifically recognizes Pb(II), CdS QDs binding aptamer DNA3 specifically recognizes S.aureus, which collaboratively catalyzed hydrogen peroxide reduction to produce two electrochemiluminescence signals. The shared hairpin structure DNA1 binds stably to Au@Ni-Co-MOFs via the Au-S bond, and the two functional probes are complementary paired with the DNA1 respectively to ensure the specificity of the aptamer. According to the ECL intensity changes of different potentials signal sources, the synchronous detection of Pb(II) and S.aureus with different concentrations is realized. The sensor realizes the detection of two targets in aquatic products and provides a new strategy for the simultaneous detection of multiple targets.

Abstract
The rapid, sensitive and reliable food safety control is urgently needed due to the harmful effects of the food contaminants on human health. Colorimetric approach has exhibited promising potential for the detection of food contaminants due to their easy preparation, rapid detection, high sensitivity, and naked-eye sensing. In recent years, AuNPs-based colorimetric probes have been extensively explored for food analysis. The present article reviews the development of AuNPs-based colorimetric probes for colorimetric sensing and their applications in food analysis. It generally summarizes the properties of AuNPs and introduces the preparation and functionalization methods of AuNPs. An overview of the colorimetric sensing mechanisms of AuNPs-based probes and their applications in analysis of food contaminants are also provided. Although AuNPs-based colorimetric probes show many advantages in detection of food contaminants, challenges remain in terms of complexity of food matrices, multiple analytes detection in a single go, and testing conditions interference.

Abstract
A colorimetric sensor detects an analyte by utilizing the optical properties of the sensor unit, such as absorption or reflection, to generate a structural color that serves as the output signal to detect an analyte. Detecting the refractive index of an analyte by recording the color change of the sensor structure on its surface has several advantages, including simple operation, low cost, suitability for onsite analysis, and real-time detection. Colorimetric sensors have drawn much attention owing to their rapidity, simplicity, high sensitivity and selectivity. This Review discusses the use of colorimetric sensors in the food industry, including their applications for detecting food contaminants. The Review also provides insight into the scope of future research in this area.

Abstract
Human exposure to acute and chronic levels of heavy metal ions are linked with various health issues, including reduced children's intelligence quotients, developmental challenges, cancers, hypertension, immune system compromises, cytotoxicity, oxidative cellular damage, and neurological disorders, among other health challenges. The potential environmental HMI contaminations, the biomagnification of heavy metal ions along food chains, and the associated risk factors of heavy metal ions on public health safety are a global concern of top priority. Hence, developing low-cost analytical protocols capable of rapid, selective, sensitive, and accurate detection of heavy metal ions in environmental samples and consumable products is of global public health interest. Conventional flame atomic absorption spectroscopy, graphite furnace atomic absorption spectroscopy, atomic emission spectroscopy, inductively coupled plasma-optical emission spectroscopy, inductively coupled plasma-mass spectroscopy, X-ray diffractometry, and X-ray fluorescence have been well-developed for HMIs and trace element analysis with excellent but varying degrees of sensitivity, selectivity, and accuracy. In addition to high instrumental running and maintenance costs and specialized personnel training, these instruments are not portable, limiting their practicality for on-demand, in situ, field study, or point-of-need HMI detection. Increases in the use of electrochemical and colorimetric techniques for heavy metal ion detections arise because of portable instrumentation, high sensitivity and selectivity, cost-effectiveness, small size requirements, rapidity, and visual detection of colorimetric nanosensors that facilitate on-demand, in situ, and field heavy metal ion detections. This review highlights the new approach to low-cost, rapid, selective, sensitive, and accurate detection of heavy metal ions in ecosystems (soil, water, air) and consumable products. Specifically, the review highlights low-cost, portable, and recent advances in smartphone-operated screen-printed electrodes (SPEs), plastic chip SPES, and carbon fiber paper-based nanosensors for environmental heavy metal ion detection. In addition, the review highlights recent advances in colorimetric nanosensors for heavy metal ion detection requirements. The review provides the advantages of electrochemical and optical nanosensors over the conventional methods of HMI analyses. The review further provides in-depth coverage of the detection of arsenic (As), cadmium (Cd), chromium (Cr), copper (Cu), mercury (Hg), manganese (Mn), nickel (Ni), lead (Pb), and zinc (Zn) ions in the ecosystem, with emphasis on environmental and biological samples. In addition, the review discusses the advantages and challenges of the current electrochemical and colorimetric nanosensors protocol for heavy metal ion detection. It provides insight into the future directions in the use of the electrochemical and colorimetric nanosensors protocol for heavy metal ion detection.

Abstract
The colorimetric signal readout method is widely used in visualized analyses for its advantages, including visualization of test results, simple and fast operations, low detection cost and fast response time. Gold nanoparticles (Au NPs), which not only exhibit enzyme-like activity but also have the advantages of tunable localized surface plasmon resonance (LSPR), high stability, good biocompatibility and easily modified properties, provide excellent platforms for the construction of colorimetric sensors. They are widely used in environmental monitoring, biomedicine, the food industry and other fields. This review focuses on the chromogenic mechanisms of colorimetric sensors based on Au NPs adopting two different sensing strategies and summarizes significant advances in Au NP-based colorimetric sensing with enzyme-like activity and tunable LSPR characteristics. In addition, the sensing strategies based on the LSPR properties of Au NPs are classified into four modulation methods: aggregation, surface modification, deposition and etching, and the current status of visual detection of various analytes is discussed. Finally, the review further discusses the limitations of current Au NP-based detection strategies and the promising prospects of Au NPs as colorimetric sensors, guiding the design of novel colorimetric sensors.

Abstract
Cobalt oxide nanoparticles are widely used owing to their distinct properties such as their larger surface area, enhanced reactivity, and their superior optical, electronic, and magnetic properties when compared to their bulk counterpart. The nanoparticles are preferably synthesized using a bottom-up approach in liquid as it allows the particle size to be more precisely controlled. In this study, we employed microplasma to synthesize Co3O4 nanoparticles because it eliminates harmful reducing agents and is efficient and cost-effective. Microplasma reactors are equipped with copper wire electrodes to generate plasma and are simple to configure. The product was characterized using UV-Vis spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction (XRD), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The experimental parameters that were varied for the synthesis were: with or without stirring, with or without indirect ultrasonication, and with or without capping agents (urea and sucrose). The results showed that the microplasma enabled Co3O4 nanoparticles to be successfully synthesized, with particle sizes of 10.9-17.7 nm, depending on the synthesis conditions.
