Abstract
The dispersion relation for noninteracting excitons and the influence of perturbative corrections are examined in the case of pentacene structure. The values of exchange integrals are determined by nonlinear fits to the experimental dispersion data, obtained by the inelastic electron scattering reported in recent experiments. We obtain theoretical dispersion curves along four different directions in the Brillouin zone which possess the same periodicity as the experimental data. We also show that perturbative corrections are negligible since the exciton gap in the dispersion relation is huge in comparison to the exchange integrals.

Abstract
The investigation of the exciton dispersion (i.e. the exciton energy dependence as a function of the momentum carried by the electron-hole pair) is a powerful approach to identify the exciton character, ranging from the strongly localised Frenkel to the delocalised Wannier-Mott limiting cases. We illustrate this possibility at the example of four prototypical molecular solids (picene, pentacene, tetracene and coronene) on the basis of the parameter-free solution of the many-body Bethe-Salpeter equation. We discuss the mixing between Frenkel and charge-transfer excitons and the origin of their Davydov splitting in the framework of many-body perturbation theory and establish a link with model approaches based on molecular states. Finally, we show how the interplay between the electronic band dispersion and the exchange electron-hole interaction plays a fundamental role in setting the nature of the exciton. This analysis has a general validity holding also for other systems in which the electron wavefunctions are strongly localized, as in strongly correlated insulators.

Abstract
Using non-equilibrium Green function formalism in conjunction with density functional theory, we explore the spin-polarized transport characteristics of several planar n-acene molecules suspended between two semi-infinite Ni electrodes via the thiol group. We examine the spin-dependence transport on Ni-n-acenes-Ni junctions, while the number of fused benzene rings varies between 1 and 15. Intriguingly, the induced magnetic moments of small acene molecules are higher than that of longer acene rings. The augmentation of fused benzene rings affects both the magnetic and transport features, such as the transmission function and conductance owing to their coupling to the Ni surface contacts via the anchoring group. The interplay between the spin-polarized transport properties, structural configuration and molecular electronic is a fortiori essential in these attractive molecular devices. Thus, this can conduct to the engineering of the electron spin transport in atomistic and molecular junctions. These prominent molecules convincingly infer that the molecular spin valves can conduct to thriving molecular devices.
