Abstract
Infrared spectrum of the compound, pentyl-4-benzoyl-1-[2,4-dinitrophenyl]-5-phenyl-1H-pyrazole-3-carboxylate (PBDPPC) has been measured. Conformational search through relaxed scan has been carried out to find the most stable conformational isomer. After the full geometry optimization for the most stable conformer using B3LYP and BLYP hybrid functionals of Density Functional Theory (DFT), vibrational normal modes have been calculated at the same theoretical levels. Potential Energy Distribution (PED) of each normal mode has been calculated by means of VEDA4 to obtain contributions of internal coordinates to the normal modes. Natural Bond Orbital (NBO) analysis has been performed to get insights into the possible hydrogen bonding sites for all the conformational isomers.

Abstract
In the paper a joint experimental and theoretical study of 3,5-dimethyl-1H-pyrazole-1-carboxamidine (L) as well as its complexes CoL2(H2O)2(NO3)2 and NiL2(H2O)2(NO3)2 is reported. On the basis of FT-IR experiments and a DFT-derived scaled quantum mechanical force field the normal coordinate analysis of L was carried out. The FT-IR spectra of the two complexes were interpreted using the present assignment of L and computed vibrational data of the complexes. The ionic and charge transfer interactions in the complexes were assessed by means of natural bond orbital (NBO) analysis.

Abstract
The synthesis of a novel arylpyrazole-derived ligand, 1,2-bis[(1,3-diphenylpyrazol-4-yl)methyl]diaminoethane (Ph4Pz2mde), and its complexes prepared with CuCl2 [Cu(Ph4Pz2mde)Cl2(MeOH)] 1, CuBr2 [Cu(Ph4Pz2mde)Br2(MeOH)] 2, from MeOH, and [Cu(Ph4Pz2mde)Cl2(DMF)] 3, from a mixture of MeOH and DMF, are described. The complexes are characterized by elemental and thermal analysis and FT-IR spectroscopy, while the 1H and 13C NMR assignments are given for the ligand. The crystal and molecular structure of [Cu(Ph4Pz2mde)Cl2(DMF)] was determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. In-vitro cytotoxicity of the Ph4Pz2mde ligand and two copper(ii) complexes was obtained using sulforhodamine B (SRB) treatment against three human tumour cell lines: HeLa (epitheloid carcinoma of cervix), MCF-7 (breast adenocarcinoma), and MRC-5 (lung fetal fibroblasts).
