Abstract
BACKGROUND Nutrition counselling is characterised by a collaborative approach where the patient and the dietitian establish goals that promote health and self-management. Little is known about goal-setting in nutrition interventions of patients at risk of malnutrition. The present study aims to describe the perspectives and needs of patients at risk of malnutrition regarding goals of nutrition interventions. METHODS Semi-structured interviews were conducted with 15 patients from three primary care centres and one hospital in mid-Sweden selected through purposive sampling. Interview transcripts were analysed using reflexive thematic analysis following the six-phase guidelines of Braun and Clarke to identify patterns of shared meaning and themes in the data. RESULTS The findings highlight that the participants rarely reflected on their personal goals of the nutrition intervention. Instead, they strived to maintain strength and energy, with the nutrition counselling being seen as supportive in managing nutrition impact symptoms. They described discrepancies between their perspectives and the dietitian's regarding weight goals and the diet prescribed to gain weight. CONCLUSIONS The study findings suggest that elucidating patients' goals is key to counteracting the discrepancies between the dietitians' clinically oriented goals and patients' perspectives. Goal-setting is part of the dietitian's structured working process, whereas the patient's lifeworld is complex and unstructured. To provide person-centred nutrition care, new strategies and tools are needed to facilitate collaborative goal-setting. These approaches will bridge the gap between clinical goals and patients' individual needs, promoting better alignment and improved outcomes.

Abstract
AIM To identify minimum reporting standards for assessing the processes and outcomes of Australian primary care dietetics practice. METHODS A sequential, mixed-method, exploratory process with peer-nominated Australian 'thought leaders'. A literature review was undertaken to identify possible standards, followed by semi-structured qualitative interviews with thought leaders. Content analysis was used to identify a comprehensive group of items that could inform evidence-based reporting standards. Two rounds of a modified Delphi survey were conducted with the same thought leaders to seek consensus on the most relevant items. Individual items were analysed for content validity, and those with a rating of excellent item-content validity (index >0.78) were included as evidenced-based standards for primary care practice. RESULTS Twenty-six thought leaders (response rate: 87%) from all mainland Australian states completed a qualitative interview and two rounds of modified-Delphi consensus surveys. Items were identified and categorised into three domains: business, clinical, and implementation. Content analysis identified 216 items published or used in practice by the thought leaders. After two rounds of consensus review, 97 items (45 business, 33 clinical, and 19 implementation) achieved excellent consensus ratings. Combining these items into a standardised tool, the scale-content validity index average was >0.90, which is considered excellent content validity. CONCLUSIONS This study has identified minimum reporting standards for evidence-based process and outcome assessments in primary care dietetics practice in Australia. Incorporating such standards into a standardised tool could enable benchmarking across the dietetics workforce and contribute to a broader understanding of the dietetic impact on public health.

Abstract
As global wind energy capacity continues to expand, the need to site commercial wind farms in productive, affordable, and technically feasible locations has become increasingly important. The use of wind farm site suitability models to identify these locations has grown consequently, thus increasing interest in standardizing certain aspects of these models' development. This systematic review of wind farm site suitability studies seeks to identify similarities and differences in the selection and representation of their enlisted siting factors. The review focuses on how subjective modeling decisions, such as vocabulary choices and dataset selection, occur in the literature, based on five identified themes: 1) Deciding Upon Siting Factors, which explains how a study's geographical context, selected modeling approach, and modeler decisions can influence siting factor selection; 2) Classifying Data and Siting Factor Terminology, which addresses the extent and the advantages of consistent siting factor vocabulary; 3) Implementing Siting Factors as Constraints or as Evaluation Criteria, which covers the importance of consistent implementation and of specifying logic when enlisting siting factors to assess potential wind farm sites; 4) Utilizing Primary and Secondary Data, which details how a study's reliance on external or self-collected datasets influences siting factor representation; and 5) Data Source and Accessibility, which highlights the inconsistent provision of citations and dataset sources, and the availability of datasets for siting factors to the broader scientific community. Standardizing the selection and representation of siting factors would benefit comparisons between wind farm site suitability studies and communication of model outputs to a wider audience.

Abstract
Abstract
Introduction Dietary interventions are part of the therapy approach in
gastrointestinal disorders. However, guidance on what outcomes to assess (in the
form of a core outcome set) for dietitians to demonstrate the effectiveness of
their interventions is lacking. This study provides preliminary work for the
development of a core outcome set to systematically assess outcomes of nutrition
therapy in clients with gastrointestinal complaints by examining how
monitoring/evaluation are conducted by dietitians.
Methods This is a quantitative online survey for dietitians to assess the
current situation around the globe concerning monitoring and evaluation. An
online survey with 26 questions divided into six sections (rated importance,
implementation, resources/obstacles, instrument requirements,
statistical questions and experiences with the Nutrition Care Process) was
developed. The questionnaire was available in English, French and German.
Results In total 740 responses were analysed.
Monitoring/evaluation of clients with gastrointestinal symptoms was
rated by 98% to be quite important to very important. The systematic
implementation of monitoring and evaluation according to a concept/model
was rated by 57% as 'rather often' to 'very
often/always'.
Conclusion Dietitians are aware of the importance of the measurability of
dietetic interventions. The most dominant barriers are lacking time in daily
practice and lack of a suitable monitoring/evaluation instrument. A
suitable core outcome set in the field of gastrointestinal complaints is needed
to increase systematic monitoring/evaluation.

Abstract
Managing routinely collected data in health care and public health is important for evaluation of interventions and answering research questions using “real life” and ”big data”. In addition to the technical requirements of information systems, both standardized terminology and standardized processes are needed. The aim of this project was to analyse and assess the integration of standardized terminology and document templates for a dietetic care process (DCP) into the health information system (HIS) in a hospital in Austria. Using an action research approach, the DCP was analysed through four expert interviews and the integration into the HIS through two expert interviews with observations. Key strengths and weaknesses for the main criteria (“integration of the ICF catalogue”, “adaption of the document templates”, “adaption of the DCP”, and the “adaption of the user authorizations”) were presented and proposals for improvement given. The system and process integration of the DCP is possible, and the document templates can be adapted with the software currently in use. Although an increase in resources and finances required is to be expected initially, the integration of a standardized dietetic terminology in combination with a standardized process is likely to improve the quality of care and support outcomes management and research.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Dietitians working in private practices in primary settings provide nutrition care to support individuals with the prevention and management of chronic disease. A better understanding of the type and usage of data collected by dietitians in this setting may provide insights to optimise the effectiveness and impact of the workforce. The present study explored the perceptions of leading Australian private practice dietitians on the collection and usage of data in their practice. METHODS A qualitative descriptive study of Australian private practice dietitians, recruited by snowball sampling, was conducted on their perceptions and attitudes towards collecting and using data. Data were collected by semi-structured interviews and all interview data were thematically analysed. RESULTS Twenty-three dietitians participated. Five themes emerged: (i) collecting data is challenging, nuanced, unclearly defined and therefore not routinely carried out; (ii) consistent data collection processes are impeded by the diversity of practise and practices; (iii) business-related data collection is essential for sustainable dietetic services; (iv) clinical outcomes are fundamental to dietetic services; and (v) standardised, integrated systems are needed to enable routine data collection and synthesis. CONCLUSIONS Our findings demonstrate the rudimentary role business acumen has in practice viability and provides evidence to potentially re-shape the future of dietetic education in Australia. Private practice dietitians may benefit from tools and training that enable consistent collection of data about their services. Such data could enable benchmarking across the workforce and contribute to a broader understanding of dietetic impact on public health.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Nutrition care plays a significant role in the prevention and treatment of malnutrition, although the challenge to establish the precise impact of a nutrition intervention on patient outcomes remains. Malnutrition can be associated with diverse underlying diseases and an increased risk of complications, which increases the difficulty of monitoring and evaluating the nutrition intervention. The aim is to gain an understanding of dietitians' reflections concerning nutrition care outcomes of interventions in patients at risk of malnutrition. METHODS Six semi-structured audio-recorded focus group discussions with registered dietitians from primary healthcare and hospitals (n = 29) in Sweden were held at the dietitians' place of work or at the University. Focus group transcripts were analysed thematically to reveal patterns in the data and identify themes and subthemes. RESULTS The dietitians described an approach to nutrition monitoring and evaluation of patients at risk of malnutrition that was categorised into three themes: (i) quantitative explicit outcomes, based on objective measures and described as rigorous; (ii) quantitative estimated outcomes, based on estimates and described as less rigorous and (iii) qualitative implicit outcomes, based on patients' subjective perceptions and experiences of their health and described as difficult to measure. CONCLUSIONS Findings indicate the need for new strategies to promote systematic and comprehensive nutrition monitoring and evaluation.

Abstract
Malnutrition, frailty and sarcopenia are becoming increasingly prevalent among community-dwelling older adults; yet are often unidentified and untreated in community settings. There is an urgent need for community-based healthcare professionals (HCPs) from all disciplines, including medicine, nursing and allied health, to be aware of, and to be able to recognise and appropriately manage these conditions. This paper provides a comprehensive overview of malnutrition, frailty and sarcopenia in the community, including their definitions, prevalence, impacts and causes/risk factors; and guidance on how these conditions may be identified and managed by HCPs in the community. A detailed description of the care process, including screening and referral, assessment and diagnosis, intervention, and monitoring and evaluation, relevant to the community context, is also provided. Further research exploring the barriers/enablers to delivering high-quality nutrition care to older community-dwelling adults who are malnourished, frail or sarcopenic is recommended, to inform the development of specific guidance for HCPs in identifying and managing these conditions in the community.

Abstract
Introduction Nutrition education (NE), as part of the treatment of eating disorders (EDs), plays a crucial role in helping patients to change their food attitudes and routines, lose fears, and recover a healthy eating pattern. All these changes may contribute to improving their nutritional status. However, there is a lack of consensus and standardization concerning the procedures to teach it. This work's objective was to elaborate a consensual protocol for NE implementation in the treatment of EDs to help in decision-making regarding which patients are appropriate candidates to receive NE, the agents (family, school community) and professionals involved, and the areas in the healthcare system that are best suited for implementation. Moreover, it would help in selecting the the topics to be imparted, and in following up treatment progression.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Dietitians involved in eating disorder treatment are viewed as important members of the multidisciplinary team. However, the skills and knowledge that they require are not well characterised. Therefore, as part of a broader project to identify the key principles and clinical practice and training standards for mental health professionals and dietitians providing eating disorder treatment, the Australia & New Zealand Academy for Eating Disorders (ANZAED) sought to identify the key practice and training standards specific to dietitians. An expert working group of dietitians was convened to draft the initial dietetic standards. After expert review, feedback on the revised standards was then provided by 100 health professionals working within the eating disorder sector. This was collated into a revised version made available online for public consultation, with input received from treatment professionals, professional bodies and consumer/carer organisations. RECOMMENDATIONS Dietitians providing treatment to individuals with an eating disorder should follow ANZAED's general principles and clinical practice standards for mental health professionals and dietitians. In addition, they should also be competent in the present eating disorder-specific standards based around the core dietetic skills of screening, professional responsibility, assessment, nutrition diagnosis, intervention, monitoring and evaluation. CONCLUSIONS These standards provide guidance on the expectations of dietetic management to ensure the safe and effective treatment of individuals with an eating disorder. Implications for professional development content and training providers are discussed, as well as the importance of clinical supervision to support professional self-care and evidence-informed and safe practice for individuals with an eating disorder.

Abstract
The increasing prevalence of overweight and obese children and adolescents poses a major concern worldwide. Dietary practice in these critical periods affects physical and cognitive development and has consequences in later life. Therefore, acquiring healthy eating behaviors that will endure is important for children and adolescents. Nutrition management has been applied to numerous childhood obesity intervention studies. Diverse forms of nutrition education and counseling, key messages, a Mediterranean-style hypocaloric diet, and nutritional food selection have been implemented as dietary interventions. The modification of dietary risk in terms of nutrients, foods, dietary patterns, and dietary behaviors has been applied to changing problematic dietary factors. However, it is not easy to identify the effectiveness of nutritional management because of the complex and interacting components of any multicomponent approach to intervention in childhood obesity. In this review, we describe the modifiable dietary risk factors and nutritional components of previous nutrition intervention studies for nutritional management in childhood obesity. Furthermore, we suggest evidence-based practice in nutrition care for obese children and adolescents by considering obesity-related individual and environmental dietary risk factors.

Abstract
BACKGROUND & AIMS Although up-to-date definitions for nutrition assessment integrate behavioural components, it is not clear what behavioural components are to be assessed. Since behavioural modification is linked to effective therapeutic dietetic interventions, assessing behaviour and factors influencing behaviour might be beneficial to improve personalized dietetic outcome. The aim of the following report is to emphasize the role of behavioural components and factors affecting behaviour at baseline nutrition assessment in personalized dietetic intervention. METHODS The present work is part of the EU-funded project IMPECD ("Improvement of Education and Competences in Dietetics", www.impecd.eu). The project aims to improve the clarity and consistency of national dietetic process models to unify education and training of future dietitians. Experts from five European Universities of Applied Sciences (UAS) in Antwerp (BE), Fulda (DE), Groningen (NL), Neubrandenburg (DE) and St. Pölten (AT) developed a Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) consisting of several clinical cases. It warranted a detailed evaluation of all dietetic care process steps, starting with nutrition assessment. RESULTS Results for motivation assessed during nutrition assessment are not consistently positively associated with outcome and the added value of assessing them at baseline is still unclear. However, depressive symptoms, emotional distress, and anxiety negatively affect eating and physical activity and therefore limit the efficacy of the dietetic intervention. Assessing behavioural components including nutrition literacy is an important precondition for influence on behavioural modification. CONCLUSION Indisputably, baseline assessment of behavioural components and factors influencing behaviour are important to increase the therapeutic efficacy of personalized dietetic interventions.

Abstract
Nutritional management is an important component of the treatment of pediatric overweight and obesity, but clinicians struggle to keep abreast with the abundant literature. Therefore, our aim is to provide a tool that integrates the current recommendations and clinical expertise to assist dietitians and other practitioners in their decision making about the nutritional management of pediatric overweight and obesity. To construct this practice-based evidence-informed framework, we conducted a systematic review of the guidelines on nutritional management of pediatric overweight or obesity in 2 databases and in the grey literature. We analyzed and synthesized recommendations of 17 guidelines. We selected the recommendations that were common to at least 30% of the guidelines and added by consensus the recommendations relevant to clinical expertise. Finally, we structured the framework according to the Nutritional Care Process in collaboration with a specialized team of dietitians who assessed its validity in clinical practice. The framework contributes to facilitate the integration of evidence-based practice for dietitians by synthesizing the current evidence, supporting clinical expertise, and promoting structured care following Nutrition Care Process model for children and adolescents with obesity.
