Abstract
The present work discusses the synthesis, characterization, and environmental applications of graphene oxide (GO), melamine formaldehyde resin (MF), and melamine formaldehyde/graphene oxide composite (MGO) for the efficient removal of Pb2+ from aqueous medium via batch and column procedures. TGA, XRD, TEM, zeta potential, nitrogen adsorption/desorption, ATR-FTIR, and other characterization techniques revealed that MGO is characterized by a greater surface area (609 m2/g), total pore volume (1.0106 cm3/g), pHPZC (6.5), and the presence of various surface chemical functional groups. The synthesized solid adsorbents were used in both static and dynamic adsorption processes to remove Pb2+, with varying application parameters such as pH, starting concentration, adsorbent dosage, and shaking time in the case of static adsorption method. While through the column adsorption process the effects of column bed height, flow rate, and starting Pb2+ were taken into consideration. Results of the batch adsorption demonstrated that MGO had the highest Langmuir adsorption capacity (201.5 mg/g), and the adsorption fit the nonlinear Langmuir adsorption model and Elovich kinetic models. The adsorption of Pb2+ onto all prepared solid materials is endothermic, spontaneous, and physical in nature, as demonstrated by thermodynamic studies. Column adsorption of Pb2+ well fitted by Thomas and Yoon Nelson nonlinear adsorption models. MGO showed a maximum column adsorption capacity of 168 mg/g when applying 4 cm, 15 mL/min, and 150 mg/L as bed height, flow rate, and initial Pb2+, respectively. With only a 12.6% reduction in its adsorption capacity, column regeneration showed that MGO exhibited a high degree of reusability even after five cycles of adsorption/desorption studies.

Natural Scaffolds Used for Liver Regeneration: A Narrative Update. Stem Cell Rev Rep 2022; 18:2262-2278. Abstract
Annually chronic liver diseases cause two million death worldwide. Although liver transplantation (LT) is still considered the best therapeutic option, the limited number of donated livers and lifelong side effects of LT has led researchers to seek alternative therapies. Tissue engineering (TE) as a promising method is considered for liver repair and regeneration. TE uses natural or synthetic scaffolds, functional somatic cells, multipotent stem cells, and growth factors to develop new organs. Biological scaffolds are notable in TE because of their capacity to mimic extracellular matrices, biodegradability, and biocompatibility. Moreover, natural scaffolds are classified based on their source and function in three separate groups. Hemostat-based scaffolds as the first group were reviewed for their application in coagulation in liver injury or surgery. Furthermore, recent studies showed improvement in the function of biological hydrogels in liver regeneration and vascularity. In addition, different applications of natural scaffolds were discussed and compared with synthetic scaffolds. Finally, we focused on the efforts to improve the performance of decellularized extracellular matrixes for liver implantation.

Abstract
We herein present a simple, fast, efficient and environmentally friendly technique to prepare graphene oxide (GO) from graphite rods of recycled batteries by using solution plasma exfoliated techniques at atmospheric pressure. The prepared GO with an average 3 nm-thickness and 1.5 μm-length, having large surface area and high porosity, has been used to remove Pb(ii) ions from the water. The obtained results indicated that the adsorption of Pb(ii) onto GO depends on pH, contact time, temperature and initial concentration of Pb(ii). The maximum adsorption capacity of Pb(ii) onto GO determined from the Langmuir model (with a high R2 value of 0.9913) was 180.1 mg g−1 at room temperature. A removal efficiency of ∼96.6% was obtained after 40 min. Calculations of thermodynamic parameters (ΔG°, ΔH° và ΔS°) show the adsorption of Pb(ii) ions on the GO surface is spontaneous and intrinsically heat-absorbing. The potential mechanism can be suggested here to be the interaction of the π–π* bonding electrons and Pb(ii) as well as the electrostatic attraction between Pb(ii) and the oxygen-containing functional groups on GO. Abstract
Polydopamine (PDA) displays many striking properties of naturally occurring melanin in optics, electricity, and biocompatibility. Another valuable feature of polydopamine lies in its chemical structure that incorporates many functional groups such as amine, catechol and imine. In this study, a nanocomposite of magnetic Fe₃O₄@Au@polydopamine nanopaticles (Fe₃O₄@Au@ PDA MNPs) was synthesized. Carboxyl functionalized Fe₃O₄@Au nanoparticles (NPs) were successfully embedded in a layer of PDA through dopamine oxypolymerization in alkaline solution. Through the investigation of adsorption behavior to Cu(II), combined with high sensitive electrochemical detection, the as-prepared magnetic nanocomposites (MNPs) have been successfully applied in the separation and analysis of Cu(II). The experimental parameters of temperature, Cu(II) concentration and pH were optimized. Results showed that the as-prepared MNPs can reach saturation adsorption after adsorbing 2 h in neutral environment. Furthermore, the as-prepared MNPs can be easily regenerated by temperature control and exhibits a good selectivity compared to other metal ions. The prepared Fe₃O₄@Au@PDA MNPs are expected to act as a kind of adsorbent for Cu(II) deep removal from contaminated waters.
