Abstract
The aim of this study was the synthesis, characterization, and catalytic application of new hierarchical materials modified with tantalum and vanadium ions. These materials exhibit secondary porosity, thus allowing the reactant molecules to access the active sites of the material while maintaining the acidity and crystallinity of the zeolites. Based on the results, these systems were found to be highly active and selective in the oxidation of cyclohexene. The performance of the catalysts was compared in oxidation processes carried out by conventional and microwave-assisted methods. Microwave-assisted experiments showed that in the presence of a hierarchical FAU zeolite containing Ta, long reaction times could be shortened with increased activity and selectivity under the same residual experimental conditions.

Abstract
The commercially available zeolite HY and its desilicated analogue were subjected to a classical wet impregnation procedure with NH4VO3 to produce catalysts differentiated in acidic and redox properties. Various spectroscopic techniques (in situ probe molecules adsorption and time-resolved propane transformation FT-IR studies, XAS, 51V MAS NMR, and 2D COS UV-vis) were employed to study speciation, local coordination, and reducibility of the vanadium species introduced into the hierarchical faujasite zeolite. The acid-based redox properties of V centres were linked to catalytic activity in the oxidative dehydrogenation of propane. The modification of zeolite via caustic treatment is an effective method of adjusting its basicity—a parameter that plays an important role in the ODH process. The developed mesopore surface ensured the attachment of vanadium species to silanol groups and formation of isolated (SiO)2(HO)V=O and (SiO)3V=O sites or polymeric, highly dispersed forms located in the zeolite micropores. The higher basicity of HYdeSi, due to the presence of the Al-rich shell, aided the activation of the C−H bond leading to a higher selectivity to propene. Its polymerisation and coke formation were inhibited by the lower acid strength of the protonic sites in desilicated zeolite. The Al-rich shell was also beneficial for anchoring V species and thus their reducibility. The operando UV-vis experiments revealed higher reactivity of the bridging oxygens V-O-V over the oxo-group V=O. The (SiO)3V=O species were found to be ineffective in propane oxidation when temperature does not exceed 400 °C.

Comparison of Catalytic Properties of Vanadium Centers Introduced into BEA Zeolite and Present on (010) V2O5 Surface–DFT Studies. Catalysts 2020. Abstract
Vanadium-based catalysts, in which vanadium is present either as bulk V2O5 or as isolated species, are active in numerous oxidation reactions. In the present study, vanadium speciation and the possibility of its introduction in various forms (V=O, V–OH, V(=O)(–OH)) into the structurally different crystallographic positions in BEA zeolite was considered by means of Density Functional Theory (DFT). Out of nine nonequivalent positions, T2 and T3 positions are the most preferred. The former may accommodate V=O or V–OH, the latter V–OH or V(=O)(–OH). The structural and electronic properties of all possible centers present in the BEA zeolite are then compared with the characteristics of the same species on the most abundant (010) V2O5 surface. It is demonstrated that they exhibit higher nucleophilic character when introduced into the zeolite, and thus, may be more relevant for catalysis.

Abstract
In this work, an MWW-type zeolite with pillars containing silicon and niobium oxide was synthesized to obtain a hierarchical zeolite. The effect of niobium insertion in the pillaring process was determined by combining a controllable acidity and accessibility in the final material. All pillared materials had niobium occupying framework positions in pillars and extra-framework positions. The pillared material, Pil-Nb-4.5 with 4.5 wt % niobium, did not compromise the mesoporosity formed by pillaring, while the increase of niobium in the structure gradually decreased the mesoporosity and ordering of lamellar stacking. The morphology of the pillared zeolites and the niobium content were found to directly affect the catalytic activity. Specifically, we report on the activity of the MWW-type zeolites with niobium catalyzing the gas-phase oxidation of volatile organic compounds (VOCs), which is an important reaction for clean environmental. All produced MWW-type zeolites with niobium were catalytically active, even at low temperatures and low niobium loading, and provided excellent conversion efficiencies.
