Abstract
Staphylococcus aureus is a pathogenic bacterium contaminating milk and dairy foods causing food poisoning and foodborne pathogens. In this work, a smartphone-enabled enzyme cascade-triggered colorimetric platform was constructed using a cascade bio-nanozyme formed by immobilized glucose oxidase (GOx) on Fe3O4@Ag for rapid detection of S. aureus. Benefiting from reasonable experimental design, a bio-nanozyme cascade-triggered reaction was achieved through H2O2 produced by GOx oxidation of glucose, followed by in situ catalysis of 3,3',5,5'-tetramethylbenzidine (TMB) by the inherent peroxidase-like activity of Fe3O4@Ag to produce color signals. Staphylococcus aureus detection could be performed through naked-eye observation and smartphone measurement, and the developed assay can achieve quantitative and qualitative detection of S. aureus. The on-site nanoplatform had satisfactory specificity and sensitivity with a low detection limit of 6.9 cfu·mL-1 in 50 min. Moreover, the nanoplatform has good practicality in the detection of S. aureus in milk samples. Therefore, the assay has potential application prospects in food safety inspection.

Abstract
Hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) has an important role in living organisms, and its detection is of great importance in medical, chemical, and food safety applications. This review provides a comparison of different types of Surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) sensors for H2O2 and related substances with respect to their detection limits, which are of interest due to high sensitivity compared to conventional sensors. According to the latest research report, this review focuses on the sensing mechanism of different sensors and summarizes the linear range, detection limits, and cellular applications of new SERS sensors, and discusses the limitations in vivo and future prospects of SERS technology for the detection of H2O2.

Abstract
The detection of hydrogen peroxide and the control of its concentration are important tasks in the biological and chemical sciences. In this paper, we developed a simple and quantitative method for the non-enzymatic detection of H2O2 based on the selective etching of Au@Ag nanorods with embedded Raman active molecules. The transfer of electrons between silver atoms and hydrogen peroxide enhances the oxidation reaction, and the Ag shell around the Au nanorod gradually dissolves. This leads to a change in the color of the nanoparticle colloid, a shift in LSPR, and a decrease in the SERS response from molecules embedded between the Au core and Ag shell. In our study, we compared the sensitivity of these readouts for nanoparticles with different Ag shell morphology. We found that triangle core-shell nanoparticles exhibited the highest sensitivity, with a detection limit of 10-4 M, and the SERS detection range of 1 × 10-4 to 2 × 10-2 M. In addition, a colorimetric strategy was applied to fabricate a simple indicator paper sensor for fast detection of hydrogen peroxide in liquids. In this case, the concentration of hydrogen peroxide was qualitatively determined by the change in the color of the nanoparticles deposited on the nitrocellulose membrane.

Paper chip-based colorimetric assay for detection of Salmonella typhimurium by combining aptamer-modified Fe 3O 4@Ag nanoprobes and urease activity inhibition. Mikrochim Acta 2020; 187:554. Abstract
A rapid and sensitive colorimetric assay is described for Salmonella typhimurium (S. typhimurium) detection using urea/phenol red impregnated test paper. Aptamer-modified Fe3O4@Ag multifunctional hybrid nanoprobes (apt-Fe3O4@Ag NPs) were used to specifically captured S. typhimurium; the nanoprobes were quickly etched by H2O2 to form Ag+. The generated Ag+ can inhibit the urease-catalyzed hydrolysis reaction of urea to produce NH4+. Consequently, the as-prepared test paper displayed a yellow color. In the presence of S. typhimurium, the target bacteria can cause aggregation of apt-Fe3O4@Ag NPs, and the deposited Ag on the nanoprobe's surface is shielded against H2O2-induced oxidative decomposition leading to reduced Ag+ production. The catalytic activity of urease cannot be inhibited completely by inadequate amount of Ag+. An obvious color change from yellow to pink can be monitored directly using our test paper as a result of increased NH4+. The entire assay procedure could be completed within 1 h. A limit of detection of 48 cfu/mL is achieved with a linear range of 1 × 102 to 1 × 106 cfu/mL. The recoveries of S. typhimurium spiked in pure milk samples were 92.48-94.05%. Graphical abstract Schematic diagram of the proposed colorimetric assay for S. typhimurium detection based on etching of bifunctional apt-Fe3O4@Ag NPs and inhibiting catalytic activity of urease by Ag+. A color change from yellow to pink can be observed and correlated to the concentration of S. typhimurium.
