Abstract
Burning fossil fuels emits a significant amount of CO 2 , causing climate change concerns. CO 2 Capture and Storage (CCS) aims to reduce emissions, with fullerenes showing promise as CO 2 adsorbents. Recent research focuses on modifying fullerenes using an electric field. In light of this, we carried out DFT studies on some B, N, and P doped C 20 (C 20 - n X n , n = 0, 1, 2, and 3; X = B, N, and P) in the absence and presence of an electric field in the range of 0-0.02 a.u.. The cohesive energy was calculated to ensure their thermodynamic stability showing, that despite having lesser cohesive energies than C 20 , they appear in a favorable range. Moreover, the charge distribution for all structures was depicted using the ESP map. Most importantly, we evaluated the adsorption energy, height, and CO 2 angle, demonstrating the B and N-doped fullerenes had the stronger interaction with CO 2 , which by far exceeded C 20 's, improving its physisorption to physicochemical adsorption. Although the adsorption energy of P-doped fullerenes was not as satisfactory, in most cases, increasing the electric field led to enhancing CO 2 adsorption and incorporating chemical attributes to CO 2 -fullerene interaction. The HOMO-LUMO plots were obtained by which we discovered that unlike the P-doped C 20 , the surprising activity of B and N-doped C 20 s against CO 2 originates from a high concentration of the HOMO-LUMO orbitals on B, N and neighboring atoms. In the present article, we attempt to introduce more effective fullerene-based materials for CO 2 adsorption as well as strategies to enhance their efficiency and revealing adsorption nature over B, N, and P-doped fullerenes and in the end, hope to encourage more experimental research on these materials within growing electric field for CO 2 capture in the future.

Abstract
The development of effective drug delivery vehicles is essential for the targeted administration and/or controlled release of drugs. Using first-principles calculations, the potential of alkali metal (AM = Li, Na, and K) decorated C60 fullerenes for delivery of 5-fluorouracil (5FU) is explored. The adsorption energies of the 5FU on a single AM atom decorated C60 are −19.33, −16.58, and −14.07 kcal mol−1 for AM = Li, Na, and K, respectively. The results, on the other hand, show that up to 12 Li and 6 Na or K atoms can be anchored on the exterior surface of the C60 fullerene simultaneously, each of which can interact with a 5FU molecule. Because of the moderate adsorption energies and charge-transfer values, the 5FU can be simply separated from the fullerene at ambient temperature. Furthermore, the results show that the 5FU may be easily protonated in the target cancerous tissues, which facilitates the release of the drug from the fullerene. The inclusion of solvent effects tends to decrease the 5FU adsorption energies in all 5FU-fullerene complexes. This is the first report on the high capability of AM decorated fullerenes for delivery of multiple 5FU molecules utilizing a C60 host molecule. DFT calculations show the capability of alkali metal (AM = Li, Na, and K) decorated C60 fullerenes to deliver multiple 5-fluorouracil 5FU molecules. The results show 5FU may be protonated to target cancerous tissues, this causes the drug to be realised from the fullerene.![]()

Abstract
Hydrogen storage on Al-decorated C24N24 is explored by the dispersion corrected DFT calculations. Each Al site in the Al6C24N24 cluster can adsorb up to five H2 molecules, with an average adsorption energy of −0.30 eV.

Abstract
Hydrogen adsorption on different benzenes, both organic and inorganic, decorated with Li cations (Li+) was systematically studied by using quantum chemistry techniques. Our calculations demonstrate that Li+-decoration enhances the hydrogen storage ability of the complexes. MP2 calculations reveal that one to five hydrogen molecules per Li+ have high adsorption energies (Ead), up to -4.77 kcal mol-1, which is crucial for effective adsorption/desorption performance. The assessed hydrogen capacity of studied complexes is in the range of 10.0-10.6 wt%. SAPT2 calculations confirmed that induction and electrostatic interactions play the major role for H2 adsorption of the investigated systems, whereas London dispersion contributes to Ead moderately only in the cases of large number of hydrogen molecules adsorbed. Independent gradient model (IGM) analysis showed that there exists non-covalent bonding between Li+ and H2. The obtained van't Hoff desorption temperatures substantially exceed the temperature of liquid nitrogen. Ab initio molecular dynamics simulations confirmed the stability of the studied complexes. Our investigations establish the high potential of the studied complexes for usage in systems for hydrogen storage.
