Abstract
Breast cancer, a prevalent malignancy among women, has various physical and psychological impacts. This comprehensive review offers an in-depth look at multidisciplinary dermo-aesthetic intervention approaches, emphasizing the balance between oncological therapies and the management of these effects. The information presented spans specialties such as aesthetic medicine, plastic surgery, dermatology, physiotherapy, nutrition, odontology, and gynecology. This review, which serves as a clinical guide, aims to establish a safe protocol for non-medical interventions involving oncologists, physicians, and specialists from various areas in patients with breast cancer focused on improving their quality of life. This work offers personalized and integrative care strategies for the eradication of cancer. However, it is still necessary for patients to consult with their oncologist before undergoing any dermo aesthetic treatment. Abstract
Objective Injectable skin fillers offer a wider range of options for cutaneous anti-aging and facial rejuvenation. PLLA microspheres are increasingly favored as degradable and long-lasting fillers. The present study focused solely on the effect of PLLA on dermal collagen, without investigating its impact on the epidermis. In this study, we investigated the effects of PLLA microspheres on epidermal stem cells (EpiSCs). Methods Different concentrations of PLLA microspheres on epidermal stem cells (EpiSCs) in vitro through culture, and identification of primary rat EpiSCs. CCK-8 detection, apoptosis staining, flow cytometry, Transwell assay, wound healing assay, q-PCR analysis, and immunofluorescence staining were used to detect the effects of PLLA on EpiSCs. Furthermore, we observed the effect on the epidermis by injecting PLLA into the dermis of the rat skin in vivo. Results PLLA microspheres promote cell proliferation and migration while delaying cell senescence and maintaining its stemness. In vitro, Intradermal injection of PLLA microspheres in the rat back skin resulted in delayed aging, as evidenced by histological and immunohistochemical staining of the skin at 2, 4, and 12 weeks of follow-up. Conclusion This study showed the positive effects of PLLA on rat epidermis and EpiSCs, while providing novel insights into the anti-aging mechanism of PLLA.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Microneedling is a technique of repeated puncturing or drilling of the skin to induce repair and collagen induction. There are many reported important factors determining the efficacy of microneedling treatment. The extent of injury needed to produce the desired effect in each condition is one of these important factors. OBJECTIVES We designed the present split-face comparative study to evaluate the use and effectiveness of two different depths of penetration of Dermapen needles in the management of atrophic postacne scars. PATIENTS AND METHODS The present study involved 14 subjects with atrophic postacne scars. In each patient, both sides of the face were treated with six sessions of microneedling, using Dermapen at 2-week intervals. A split-face study design was performed. The right (Rt) side of the face was treated with Dermapen using 2.5 mm needle length, while the left (Lt) side was treated using 1.5 mm needle length. RESULTS There was a significantly better percentage of improvement of acne scars on the Rt side of the face compared to the Lt side (P = 0.02) after six sessions. Both sides of the face showed improvement of collagen bundles and elastic fibers characteristics after six sessions. CONCLUSIONS The use of 2.5 mm depth proved to be more effective both clinically and histologically in the management of atrophic postacne scars.

Abstract
AIMS This randomized trial assessed for the first time the efficacy of coronally advanced flap (CAF) followed by micro-needling (MN) in contrast to CAF with acellular dermal matrix (ADM) on gingival thickness (GT, primary outcome), keratinized tissue width (KTW), clinical attachment level (CAL), probing depth (PD), recession depth (RD), recession width (RW), recession reduction (Rec-Red), complete root coverage (CRC) and percentage of root coverage (all secondary outcomes) in management of RT1 gingival recession in patients with thin gingival phenotype. METHODS A total of 24 patients (n = 24) with a thin gingival phenotype and single RT1 gingival recession in the aesthetic zone were randomly allocated to test- (CAF + MN; n = 12) or control group (CAF + ADM; n = 12). All clinical parameters were evaluated at baseline, 3 and 6 months. RESULTS Both groups independently demonstrated significant gain in GT, RW, RD, CAL, PD, Rec-Red, CRC and percentage of root coverage, with reduced PI and BOP (p < .05) at 3 and 6 months, without intergroup differences (p > .05). At 6 months, KTW gain was significantly higher in CAF + MN (5.08 ± 0.9 mm) than in CAF + ADM-group (4.25 ± 1.06 mm; p < .05). Stepwise linear regression model with GT as dependent variable showed that base-line GT was the only statistically significant predictor for GT with a direct correlation between base-line GT and GT after 6 months. CONCLUSION CAF followed by MN could represent a promising graft-less approach for increasing gingival thickness, comparable to CAF with ADM, with superior keratinized tissue width improvement, in the treatment of RT1 recession defects in patients with thin gingival phenotype.

Abstract
PURPOSE Photobiomodulation therapy (PBM) is a versatile technique for treating skin diseases. Melasma, a chronic hyperpigmentation condition, has recently been associated with vascular features and dermal photoaging and poses significant management challenges. We review the recent literature on melasma etiology and the evidence supporting PBM as a therapeutic modality for melasma treatment. METHODS We conducted a comprehensive literature search in three different databases from May to August 2023, focusing on studies published in the past 10 years. The inclusion criteria comprised full-text studies investigating low-power lasers and/or light-emitting diodes (LEDs) in in vitro or in vivo models, as well as clinical trials. We excluded studies discussing alternative melasma therapies or lacking experimental data. We identified additional studies by searching the reference lists of the selected articles. RESULTS We identified nine relevant studies. Clinical studies, in agreement with in vitro experiments and animal models, suggest that PBM effectively reduces melasma-associated hyperpigmentation. Specific wavelengths (red: 630 nm; amber: 585 and 590 nm; infrared: 830 and 850 nm) at radiant exposures between 1 and 20 J/cm2 exert modulatory effects on tyrosinase activity, gene expression, and protein synthesis of melanocytic pathway components, and thus significantly reduce the melanin content. Additionally, PBM is effective in improving the dermal structure and reducing erythema and neovascularization, features recently identified as pathological components of melasma. CONCLUSION PBM emerges as a promising, contemporary, and non-invasive procedure for treating melasma. Beyond its role in inhibiting melanogenesis, PBM shows potential in reducing erythema and vascularization and improving dermal conditions. However, robust and well-designed clinical trials are needed to determine optimal light parameters and to evaluate the effects of PBM on melasma thoroughly.

Abstract
Ultrasonography is a well-tolerated procedure that aids in the targeted esthetic therapies of special cutaneous regions, as well as in the prevention (vascular mapping, identification of previous filler, and others) and management of potential complications (vascular occlusion, external vascular compression, product misplacement or migration, inflammatory reactions, and others). It has lately been promoted as the first-line imaging tool to address injectables. In this article, we aim to review the evolving role of ultrasonography in cosmetic filler procedures, from the fundamental ultrasound characterization of cosmetic fillers to the ultrasound-enhanced detection and management of cosmetic filler complications, including ultrasound's role in hyaluronidase-guided injections for cosmetic filler dissolution. Furthermore, the paper explores the integral role played by ultrasound in enhancing the precision, efficacy, and safety of additional minimally invasive aesthetic techniques such as mesotherapy, radiofrequency, cryolipolysis, and polydioxanone procedures.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES This study aims to introduce compound glycyrrhizin injection for the treatment of rosacea by mesoderm therapy, and further analyze the therapeutic and aesthetic effects of this treatment method and its impact on the dermatological quality of life index, which provides new ideas and methods for cosmetic dermatology treatment of rosacea. METHODS The recruited rosacea patients were divided into Control group (n = 58) and observation group (n = 58) according to the random number table. The control group was treated with topical metronidazole clindamycin liniment, and the study group was additionally used mesoderm introduction of compound glycyrrhizin injection. The transepidermal water loss (TEWL), water content in corneum, and dermatology life quality index (DLQI) in rosacea patients were evaluated. RESULTS Our results showed that the scores of erythema, flushing, telangiectasia, and papulopustule were significantly reduced in the observation group. In addition, the observation group significantly decreased TEWL and increased the water content of the stratum corneum. Furthermore, the observation group significantly reduced the DLQI of rosacea patients compared to the control group. CONCLUSION The use of mesoderm therapy combined with compound glycyrrhizic acid has a therapeutic effect on facial rosacea and improves patient satisfaction.

Abstract
Lower facial rejuvenation is an expanding area in facial plastic surgery with both surgical and nonsurgical treatment options. Evidence-based medicine is essential to providing high-quality care and creating long-lasting results. A systematic approach and understanding of the layers of the aging lower face is important to develop an individualized treatment plan. This review will focus on surgical and nonsurgical treatments for the aging lower face with an emphasis on evidence-based medicine.

Abstract
Mesotherapy is a popular treatment that delivers substances deep into the skin but induces foreign body-type granulomatous reactions. However, such reactions caused by unauthorized use of topical tranexamic acid products in mesotherapy have never been reported before. We herein demonstrated a case of a 33-year-old woman with multiple mesotherapy-induced foreign body-type granulomas disseminated across her face. The patient was diagnosed with echo-color Doppler (ECD) and successfully treated with medications including minocycline hydrochloride. Then, we reviewed the differential diagnosis and current treatment for foreign body-type granulomatous reaction.

METHODS & Materials: Cochrane, Embase, and PubMed were used to identify articles exploring minimally invasive treatments for ear rejuvenation. RESULTS Topical medications, peels, fillers, lasers, photodynamic therapy, and dermabrasion are safe and efficacious for managing a variety of concerns related to earlobe aesthetics. CONCLUSION Numerous minimally invasive treatment modalities are available for earlobe rejuvenation; further investigation is needed to design a grading system and treatment algorithm.

Abstract
BACKGROUND High-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) has been developed for the treatment of skin wrinkles on the face, neck, and body. OBJECTIVES This study aimed to evaluate the effects of a home-used HIFU device on wrinkles in mice based on the expression of fibrosis-related genes and proteins. METHODS The backs of 20-week-old mice were treated with a home-used HIFU using the following probes: 4 MHz, 1.5 mm focal depth. The treated mice were compared with young mice by histological examination, real-time polymerase chain reaction (PCR), and immunohistochemistry. Histological examination was performed by trichrome staining. Real-time PCR and immunohistochemistry were conducted to determine the expression of collagen types I and III, matrix metalloproteinase (MMP)-1, and tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinase (TIMP)-1. RESULTS Dermal thickness was increased after treatment with the home-used HIFU device at 30 and 60 s per day for 1 week or 30 and 60 s per day for 2 weeks on trichrome. Gene and protein expression of collagen types I and III and elastin were increased after treatment with HIFU at all options of 30 and 60 s per day for 1 week or 30 and 60 s per day for 2 weeks. Gene and protein expressions of MMP-1 and TIMP-1 were decreased after treatment with HIFU device at 30 and 60 s per day for 1 week or 30 and 60 s per day for 2 weeks. CONCLUSION The home-used HIFU device can be an effective therapeutic modality for skin tightening.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Isotretinoin (ISO)-associated cheilitis is the most common side effect and the most common reason for discontinuation of ongoing therapy. So, various lip balms are also routinely recommended for all patients. OBJECTIVES We aimed to investigate the effectiveness of local intradermal injections (mesotherapy) of dexpanthenol into the lips to prevent ISO-associated cheilitis. METHODS This pilot study was conducted on patients over the age of 18 using ISO (about 0.5 mg/kg/day). All patients were prescribed only hamamelis virginiana distillate in ointment form as a lip balm. In the mesotherapy group (n=28), 0.1 ml of dexpanthenol was injected into each lip tubercle (4 points total) to the submucosal level. The patients in the control group (n=26) used only the ointment. "ISO cheilitis grading scale (ICGS)" was used in the evaluation of ISO-associated cheilitis. The patients were followed for 2 months. RESULTS Although there was an increase in ICGS scores in the mesotherapy group compared to the baseline, no statistically significant change was observed after treatment (p=0.545). However, in the control group, there was a statistically significant increase in ICGS scores in the 1st and 2nd months compared to the baseline (p<0.001). Lip balms were needed significantly less frequently in the mesotherapy group compared to the control, both in the 1st and 2nd months (p=0.006, p=0.045; respectively). CONCLUSIONS Lip mesotherapy with dexpanthenol will be a useful option for preventing ISO-associated cheilitis because of its easy application, cost-effectiveness, low complication risk, and high patient satisfaction.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To evaluate the efficacy and safety of 2% minoxidil combined with microneedling in the treatment of female pattern hair loss. METHODS Forty female patients with female pattern hair loss were randomly divided into two groups with 20 patients each. The control group was treated with 2% minoxidil. The combined treatment group was treated with weekly microneedling in addition to daily minoxidil. The treatment period of both groups was 24 weeks. RESULTS There were no significant differences in age or duration of disease between the two groups of patients. The effective rate in the combined treatment group was 85%, which was significantly higher than that of the control group (45%). The hair counts were also higher in the combined treatment group. All of the adverse reactions observed during the treatment period were mild. No severe adverse event was observed in either group. CONCLUSION Microneedling combined with minoxidil had better efficacy for female pattern hair loss during the treatment period and follow-up. Microneedling combined with minoxidil therapy was safe and effective.

Abstract
Facial skin nonsurgical resurfacing modalities, including laser, chemical peeling, and microneedling, have become common due to increasing public concern about skin aging. The potential effect of stem cell conditioned medium (CM) for antiaging has been reported in recent years, and such medium may be able to improve the efficacy of resurfacing modalities. This study investigated the efficacy of topical CM combined with resurfacing in comparison with resurfacing alone. We searched the PubMed, Embase, and Cochrane Library databases for randomized controlled trials (RCTs). We used the Cochrane risk-of-bias tool (version 2) to assess the risk of bias of the included studies and Review Manager (version 5.4) for data analysis. Means and standard deviations of outcomes, namely wrinkle, pigmentation, pore, and overall improvement, were extracted. After screening, we included five RCTs in the analysis, four of which were quantitatively analyzed. The result revealed that stem cell CM significantly reduced wrinkles (P = 0.0006), pigmentation (P = 0.004), and pores (P = 0.01) and improved overall skin condition (P < 0.0001). In summary, we suggest that stem cell CM is a safe treatment that can enhance the efficacy of facial skin nonsurgical resurfacing modalities.Level of Evidence III This journal requires that authors assign a level of evidence to each article. Abstract
Background Although energy devices and botulinum toxin A (BTX-A) can alleviate age-related laxity, ptosis, and platysmal bands, they have limited efficacy on horizontal neck lines. Objectives The purpose of this study was to investigate the efficacy, safety, and subject satisfaction of a combined treatment of non–cross-linked hyaluronic acid (HA) compound filling plus mesotherapy for the correction of horizontal neck lines, in comparison with BTX-A. Methods This multicenter, randomized, evaluator-blinded, prospective study enrolled female patients with moderate-to-severe horizontal neck lines corrected with either 2 or 3 sessions of of non–cross-linked HA compound filling plus mesotherapy or 1 session of BTX-A injection. Improvement of the neck lines grades, Global Aesthetic Improvement Scale (GAIS), patient satisfaction, and adverse events (AEs) were evaluated and compared at 1, 3, 6, and 10 months after the final treatment. Results Twenty-five patients received HA filling plus mesotherapy and 23 received BTX-A injection. Compared with BTX-A, the HA compound filling plus mesotherapy significantly improved the horizontal neck lines grades on all follow-up visits (P = 0.000). Cases of different baseline grades (2, 2.5, and 3) demonstrated similar outcomes. The GAIS and patients’ satisfaction ratings were significantly higher for the HA filling plus mesotherapy treatment group (P = 0.000). Significantly higher pain ratings, higher incidence, and longer recovery of AEs (erythema, edema, and ecchymosis) were noticed in the combined treatment group (P < 0.001). No serious AEs occurred. Conclusions Compared with BTX-A, combined treatment with HA compound filling plus mesotherapy significantly improved moderate-to-severe horizontal neck lines and achieved a high level of patient satisfaction. Abstract
Hyaluronic acid (HA)-based injectable filling agents are at the forefront of the current demand for noninvasive dermatological procedures for the correction of age-related soft tissue defects. The present review aims to summarize currently available HA-based products and critically appraise their differences in rheological nature and clinical application. Linear HA (LHA) gels may be supplemented with amino acids, lipoic acid, vitamins, nucleosides, or minerals for synergistic antiaging and antioxidant benefits (polycomponent LHA). HA hydrogels can be generated via chemical or physical crosslinking, which increases their elasticity and decreases viscosity. The performance of crosslinked fillers depends on HA concentration, degree of crosslinking, elastic modulus, cohesivity, and type of crosslinking agent employed. PEG-crosslinked LHA displays improved elasticity and resistance to degradation, and lower swelling rates as compared to BDDE-crosslinked LHA. Physical crosslinking stabilizes HA hydrogels without employing exogenous chemical compounds or altering hyaluronans’ natural molecular structure. Thermally stabilized hybrid cooperative HA complexes (HCC) are a formulation of high- and low-molecular-weight (H-HA and L-HA) hyaluronans, achieving high HA concentration, low viscosity with optimal tissue diffusion, and a duration comparable to weakly cross-linked gel. Our critical analysis evidences the importance of understanding different fillers’ properties to assist physicians in selecting the most appropriate filler for specific uses and for predictable and sustainable results.

Abstract
ABSTRACT Although it appears to be a simple, easy, and financially attractive therapeutic modality, skin rejuvenation mesotherapy is a controversial cosmetic procedure and proof of its efficacy is still lacking. The authors have published a review about this therapeutic modality more than a decade ago. Few clinical studies evaluating its efficacy and safety were available then without any conclusive scientific evidence about its efficacy; nevertheless, mesotherapy has continued to be performed at a relatively high financial cost to patients by many nonmedical and medical professionals for antiaging purposes. The authors have published a review about this therapeutic modality more than a decade ago. The current review is an update aimed at identifying any evidence about the scientific validity and efficacy of this approach that has emerged since then. No clinical valuable new data and new information has been identified. As by American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) policy statement updated and approved in 2019, mesotherapy for skin rejuvenation is currently not Food and Drug Administration approved. Until more conclusive data is available, skin rejuvenation mesotherapy cannot be recommended for routine skin rejuvenation clinical application.

Abstract
Hand eczema is a recurrent and resistant disease that seriously affects the quality of life of patients; currently, there are no ideal treatments for hand eczema. Here, we describe two patients who presented with hand eczema to illustrate the potential efficacy of mesotherapy with snake venom pharmacopuncture (SVP). A 23-year-old woman (Case 1) and a 47-year-old woman (Case 2) presented to the clinic with symptoms of pruritic rash, blisters, and itchiness on both the hands and the left hand, respectively. Both patients were diagnosed with hand eczema based on the physical examination of blisters and redness only on the hands. The patients underwent 1 month (Case 1) and 1 week (Case 2) of mesotherapy with SVP. After treatment, the lesions completely improved and did not recur at 1 year of follow-up. These outcomes suggest that mesotherapy with SVP may be effective for the resolution of hand eczema; however, further research is needed to confirm these findings.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To compare the efficacy and safety of microneedling and fractional CO2 laser in combination with tranexamic acid (TA) in the treatment of infra-orbital hyperpigmentation. PATIENTS AND METHODS This split-face clinical trial performed on 30 volunteers. The patients were randomly assigned to treat with fractional CO2 laser and microneedling, both combined with TA topically. Three monthly treatment sessions were performed. Two blinded dermatologists evaluated the response after each treatment session and one and three months after the last session. We also asked patients to evaluate their overall satisfaction at the final follow up. Adverse effects have also been documented. RESULTS Both methods showed significant improvement in all sessions comparing with the baseline state (p value <.05). There were no significant differences between two methods on the days 30, 90, and 150. But the laser showed significantly higher improvement on day 60. The patients' satisfaction did not reveal any significant difference between the two sides. Adverse events were temporary with no significant difference between both sides except for erythema that lasts longer with microneedling. CONCLUSIONS Both fractional CO2 laser and microneedling in combination with topical TA seem to be effective modalities in the treatment of infraorbital hyperpigmentation with no significant side effects.

Objective: To observe the clinical effect of mesotherapy with nanochip for facial rejuvenation.Methods: 24 volunteers with aging skin were treated with a polycomponent formulation - NCTF® BOOST 135 HA for 5 times (once weekly for 3 times and successively biweekly for 2 times). Photographs were taken by VISIA at baseline, and after 1, 4, 10 weeks, while global scores for photoaging (GSP), improvement scores, volunteers' satisfaction, parameters describing the properties of the skin, and adverse effects were assessed during each follow-up period.Results: Total 20 volunteers completed the treatment. Evaluation of the whole face showed that GSP, skin texture (ophthalmic wrinkles, dermal thickness, and intensity of collagen fibers of skin), and skin brightness (Lab value) significantly improved at 4 weeks compared to baseline, while the difference between 4 and 10 weeks was not statistically significant. No evident improvement was observed in pigmented spots, telangiectasia, skin tightening, trans-epidermal water loss (TEWL), and skin hydration. Slight erythema, pain was the most common side effect.Conclusion: Mesotherapy with nanochip can improve skin texture and brightness, but the effect is not permanent. It is recommended that the treatment be used as a complementary method for patients with facial rejuvenation needs.

Abstract
Microneedling (MN) is a novel therapeutic modality in dermatology. Through physical trauma from needle penetration, MN induces a wound healing cascade with minimal damage to the epidermis. This allows for enhancement in the absorption of mainstay topical therapies across the thick stratum corneum. MN has become increasingly utilized over the last several years as it is a relatively simple procedure that is cost-effective, well tolerated, and offers both cosmetic and therapeutic benefits. The ability to treat localized areas of disease has led to numerous studies gauging its potential in focal diseases of inflammation, dyschromia, and photodamage. This review discusses the principles and evidence behind the expanding applications of MN. It has shown promising results as an adjuvant therapy for enhanced drug delivery in the treatment of atrophic scars, alopecia, actinic keratoses, and disorders of pigmentation such as melasma. The efficacy in treatment of vitiligo remains limited. Overall, the procedure has few adverse sequelae compared to other therapies, is highly efficacious, and is a viable resurfacing option for skin of color. Future research is needed to determine the frequency, interval, and specific device settings that foster optimal results. Additionally, large controlled trials are needed to shed light on the utility of MN as an evidence-based regimen for the treatment of various dermatologic conditions.

Abstract
Acne is a common condition that can result in permanent scarring. We have
performed a comprehensive literature search of the last 10 years in order to
determine the efficacy and side effects of commonly used treatments against
post-acne scarring. A total of 36 relevant articles were identified on the
following interventions: subcision (10), dermabrasion (one), microneedling
(eight), dermal fillers (five), and chemical peeling (12). Post acne scarring is
a common and challenging condition with no easy and definitive solution. The
above interventions have been used with varying degrees of efficacy, each having
both pros and cons. All have been deemed to be safe with few and transient
adverse reactions. However, further trials with larger number of patients are
necessary in order to reach more concrete conclusions regarding their
efficacy.
