Phosphine supported metal-dihydrogen complexes: Elongation of H−H bond to reversible release of H2

Treatment of trans-[Ir(H)(N)2(iPr)4(POCOP)(DMAP)][BAr4f] (2) with H2 (1 bar) under ambient conditions (298 K) results in the formation of a trans-[Ir(H)(η2-H2)(iPr)4(POCOP)(DMAP)][BAr4f] (3) complex. Complex 3 exhibits H-atom site exchange between the bound H2 and the hydride ligands which are mutually trans to one another. A plausible mechanism of this exchange involves metal-ligand cooperativity as studied by computations.

Synthesis and characterisation of tetranuclear ruthenium polyhydrido clusters with pseudo-tetrahedral geometry

A series of tetranuclear ruthenium polyhydrido complexes with electric charges from +2 to 0 was synthesized.

Hydride, gold(i) and related derivatives of the unsaturated ditungsten anion [W2Cp2(μ-PCy2)(μ-CO)2]−

The title anion adds metal-based electrophiles at the ditungsten site, but its protonation gives mixtures of isomers with either bridging or terminal hydrides (W = WCp; P = PCy₂).
