Abstract
A completely green protocol was developed for the synthesis of a series of arylaminonaphthol derivatives in the presence of N-ethylethanolamine (NEEA) as a catalyst under ultrasonic irradiation and solventless conditions. The major assets of this methodology were the use of non-toxic organic medium, available catalyst, mild reaction condition, and good to excellent yield of desired products. All of the synthesized products were screened for their in vitro antioxidant activity using DPPH, ABTS, and Ferric-phenanthroline assays and it was found that most of them are potent antioxidant agents. Also, their butyrylcholinesterase inhibitory activity has been investigated in vitro. All tested compounds exhibited potential inhibitory activity toward BuChE when compared to standard reference drug galantamine, however, compounds 4r, 4u, 4 g and 4x gave higher butyrylcholinesterase inhibitory with IC50 values of 14.78 ± 0.65 µM, 16.18 ± 0.50 µM, 20.00 ± 0.50 µM, and 20.28 ± 0.08 µM respectively. On the other hand, we employed density functional theory (DFT), calculations to analyze molecular geometry and global reactivity descriptors, and MESP analysis to predict electrophilic and nucleophilic attacks. A quantitative structure-activity relationship (QSAR) investigation was conducted on the antioxidant and butyrylcholinesterase properties of 25 arylaminonaphthol derivatives, resulting in robust and satisfactory models. To evaluate their anti-Alzheimer's activity, compounds 4 g, 4q, 4r, 4u, and 4x underwent docking simulations at the active site of the acetylcholinesterase (AChE) and butyrylcholinesterase (BChE), revealing why these compounds displayed superior activity, consistent with the biological findings.

Abstract
Amidoalkyl-2-naphthol is one of the vital synthetic intermediates which occupy
an imperative position in medicinal chemistry due to its amazing biological, pharmacological
as well as industrial and synthetic applications. Owing to its diverse pharmaceutical
activities, hundreds of scientific literature are available, signifying the efficient synthesis
of this intermediate using various catalysts. Most of these literature methods suffer from
low yield and harsh reaction conditions that further ignited the researcher to explore for
another green catalyst and fresh methodologies. This review summarizes the last five
years progress in the catalytic synthesis of 1-amidoalkyl-2-naphthols using various heterogenous,
homogenous and nanocatalysts along with their mechanism of action. Various
advantages like green synthesis, atom economy, clean reaction profile and catalyst recovery
are discussed which facilitate the scientist to probe and stimulate the study on this scaffold. In the end, the
catalysts and reactions condition are organized into the tables for swift at a glance understanding of different
catalysts used with their yield and time taken for the synthesis.

Abstract
The multicomponent reaction between 2-naphthol, arylaldehydes and ammonia yields aminobenzylnaphthols in a process known as the Betti reaction, which was first uncovered at the beginning of the 20th century. Various methods have been reported for the synthesis of aminobenzylnaphthol (Betti base) and bis-Betti base derivatives using various types of naphthols, aromatic amines, heteroaromatic amines, and aliphatic and cyclic amines instead of ammonia or diamines and aliphatic and aromatic aldehydes or dialdehyde compounds under various conditions in recent years. The Betti reaction produces racemic and non-racemic aminobenzylnaphthol ligands. It is also clear that the most important area of application of the non-racemic aminonaphthols prepared in this manner is their use in asymmetric synthesis, either as chiral ligands or as chiral auxiliaries. The functional groups in these Mannich products offer many ring closure possibilities. Some of these products or the starting bifunctional compounds possess biological activity. Herein, we present a selection of the relevant studies on this topic.

Abstract
Monometallic and bimetallic MOF/MCM-41 composites (Cu, Ag and Cu–Ag) were synthesized via a solvothermal method. The synthesized composites were characterized by XRD, FTIR, SEM, EDX and BET surface area measurements. The acidity was determined through two techniques; potentiometric titration with n-butyl amine for determining the strength and the total number of acid sites and FTIR spectra of chemisorbed pyridine on the surface of MOFs for determining the type of acid sites (Brønsted and/or Lewis). All the prepared MOFs showed Lewis-acid sites and the higher acidity was observed for the bimetallic Cu–Ag MOF/MCM-41 composite. The catalytic activity was examined on the synthesis of 1-amidoalkyl-2-naphthol via the reaction of benzaldehyde, 2-naphthol and benzamide. The best yield (92.86%) was obtained in the least time (10 min) with a molar ratio 1.2 : 1.2 : 1.7 of benzaldehyde : β-naphthol : benzamide and 0.1 g bimetallic Cu–Ag MOF/MCM-41 composite under solvent-free conditions at 130 °C. Reuse of the catalysts showed that they could be used at least four times without any reduction in the catalytic activity. Monometallic and bimetallic MOF/MCM-41 composites (Cu, Ag and Cu–Ag) were synthesized via a solvothermal method.![]()

Abstract
This article provides an overview about specifically modified Mannich reactions where the process involves an ortho-quinone methide (o-QM) intermediate. The reactions are classified on the basis of the o-QM source followed by the reactant, e.g., the dienophile partner in cycloaddition reactions (C=C or C=N dienophiles) or by the formation of multicomponent Mannich adducts. Due to the important pharmacological activities of these reactive o-QM intermediates, special attention is paid to the biological activity of these compounds.
