Abstract
BACKGROUND Platinum-based chemotherapy, a widely used backbone of systemic cytotoxic anticancer treatment, is associated with nephrotoxicity. Currently, renal function is generally assessed prior to each administration of cisplatin or carboplatin, but there is no guideline regarding the frequency of renal function determination. OBJECTIVE The primary objective was to determine the median time to a clinically relevant dosage adjustment (>10%) due to change in renal function in patients treated with cisplatin and carboplatin. Secondly, variables influencing changes in renal function were assessed. METHODS We conducted a retrospective analysis of serial renal function assessments in platinum-treated patients with cancer in two academic medical centers, using a query to extract data from the electronic health records between 2017 and 2019. RESULTS In total, 512 patients receiving cisplatin and 628 patients receiving carboplatin were included. In total, 15% of all cisplatin-treated patients were found to have a renal function less than 60 mL/min at least once during treatment, with a median time to renal function decline of 67 days (range 5-96 days), which did not differ between treatment regimens. For carboplatin 21% of patients were found to have had a dosage variation of more than 10% at least once during treatment, with a median time-to-event period of 64 days (range 5-100 days). INTERPRETATION Dose adjustments during platinum-based chemotherapy resulting from renal function decline occur after a median time of ≥64 days. Our data provide substantiated guidance to recommend renal function assessment during platinum-based chemotherapy in clinically stable patients to once every 3 weeks.

Abstract
The present study aims to investigate about the quantitative structure-activity relationship (QSAR) of a series of Thiazole derivatives reported as anticancer agents (hepatocellular carcinoma), using principally the electronic descriptors calculated by the DFT method and by applying the multiple linear regression method. The developed model showed good statistical parameters (R2 = 0.725, R2adj = 0.653, MSE = 0.060, R2test = 0.827, Q2cv = 0.536). The energy EHOMO orbital, electronic energy (TE), shape coefficient (I), number of rotatable bonds (NROT), and index of refraction (n) were revealed to be the main descriptors influencing the anti-cancer activity. Further, new Thiazole derivatives have been designed and their activities and pharmacokinetic properties have been predicted using the validated QSAR model. The designed molecules were then assessed to molecular docking (MD), and molecular dynamic (MDs) simulation accompanied by the calculation of the binding affinity using MMPBSA script according to 100 ns a simulation trajectory, to study both their affinity and their stability towards CDK2 as a target protein for the cancer disease treatment. This research concluded with the identification of four new CDK2 inhibitors which are A1, A3, A5, and A6 showing good pharmacokinetic properties. The MDs results revealed that the newly designed compound A5 remained stable in the active center of the discovered CDK2 protein, indicating its potential as a novel inhibitor for the treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma. The current findings may eventually contribute to the development of robust CDK2 inhibitors in the future.Communicated by Ramaswamy H. Sarma.

Abstract
Skin reactions are well described complications of tattooing, usually provoked by red inks. Chemical characterizations of these inks are usually based on limited subjects and techniques. This study aimed to determine the organic and inorganic composition of inks using X-ray fluorescence spectroscopy (XRF), X-ray absorption spectroscopy (XANES) and Raman spectroscopy, in a cohort of patients with cutaneous hypersensitivity reactions to tattoo. A retrospective multicenter study was performed, including 15 patients diagnosed with skin reactions to tattoos. Almost half of these patients developed skin reactions on black inks. XRF identified known allergenic metals - titanium, chromium, manganese, nickel and copper - in almost all cases. XANES spectroscopy distinguished zinc and iron present in ink from these elements in endogenous biomolecules. Raman spectroscopy showed the presence of both reported (azo pigments, quinacridone) and unreported (carbon black, phtalocyanine) putative organic sensitizer compounds, and also defined the phase in which Ti was engaged. To the best of the authors' knowledge, this paper reports the largest cohort of skin hypersensitivity reactions analyzed by multiple complementary techniques. With almost half the patients presenting skin reaction on black tattoo, the study suggests that black modern inks should also be considered to provoke skin reactions, probably because of the common association of carbon black with potential allergenic metals within these inks. Analysis of more skin reactions to tattoos is needed to identify the relevant chemical compounds and help render tattoo ink composition safer.

Abstract
The new rapid scan method, Flyscan mode, implemented on the DiffAbs beamline at Synchrotron SOLEIL, allows fast micro-X-ray fluorescence data acquisition. It paves the way for applications in the biomedical field where a large amount of data is needed to generate meaningful information for the clinician. This study presents a complete set of data acquired after injection of gold-cluster-enriched mesoporous silica nanospheres, used as potential theranostic vectors, into rats. While classical X-ray fluorescence investigations (using step-by-step acquisitions) are based on a limited number of samples (approximately one per day at the DiffAbs beamline), the Flyscan mode has enabled gathering information on the interaction of nanometer-scale vectors in different organs such as liver, spleen and kidney at the micrometer scale, for five rats, in only a single five-day synchrotron shift. Moreover, numerous X-ray absorption near-edge structure spectra, which are beam-time-consuming taking into account the low concentration of these theranostic vectors, were collected.
