Abstract
The extensor carpi ulnaris (ECU) is primarily responsible for extension and ulnar deviation at the wrist. Secondary to repetitive loading of, or acute trauma to the flexed, supinated and ulnarly deviated wrist, the ECU tendon can be a common source of ulnar-sided wrist pain. Common pathology includes ECU tendinopathy, tenosynovitis, tendon instability, and tendon rupture. Extensor carpi ulnaris pathology commonly occurs in athletes and patients with inflammatory arthritis. Given the multitude of available methods to treat ECU tendon pathology, the aim of our study was to outline operative management of ECU tendon pathology, with emphasis on reviewing techniques for addressing ECU instability. We acknowledge a continuing debate between anatomical and nonanatomical techniques for ECU subsheath reconstruction. However, use of a portion of the extensor retinaculum for nonanatomical reconstruction is commonly used and demonstrates successful outcomes. Future comparative studies on ECU fixation are required to increase data on patient outcomes, to further define and standardize these techniques.

Abstract
Distal ulnar metaphyseal fractures are often treated conservatively with good clinical outcomes. Extensor carpi ulnaris (ECU) tendinopathy after conservative treatment for distal ulnar metaphyseal fractures has not been reported. We present a case of a 20-year-old university baseball player who developed ECU tendinopathy after conservative treatment for a distal ulnar metaphyseal fracture. A slight step-off at the fracture site and repeated movements as a catcher were considered to have caused the ECU tendinopathy. Clinicians should be aware of ECU tendinopathy after distal ulnar metaphyseal fractures with repeated ECU loading in sports or occupations.

Abstract
Hand tendinopathies represent a pathological condition associated with significant disability. However, due to this high heterogeneity of the treatments and their efficacy, there is still a lack of consensus on the infiltrative therapy of the hand. This systematic review aimed to investigate the efficacy of injection techniques in the treatment of pain related to the main hand tendinopathies. We searched online medical databases (PubMed, Pedro, Cochrane Library, Scopus, and WoS). Only RCTs published in the last 10 years (up to 5 August 2024), written in English, and related to infiltrative treatment in wrist and hand tendinopathies were evaluated. The risk of bias in RCTs was assessed with Version 2 of the Cochrane Risk of Bias tool for randomized trials (RoB 2). Out of 641 articles identified, 23 were included in the final synthesis: 14 RCTs on trigger finger, and 9 RCTs on de Quervain's tenosynovitis. The present systematic review showed that infiltrative therapy of trigger finger and de Quervain's tenosynovitis constitutes a fundamental element in the treatment of these pathological conditions, in terms of pain reduction and improvement in the functionality of the hand.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Forearm intersection syndrome causes pain, swelling, and a rub at the dorsal distal forearm where the first extensor compartment muscles intersect with the second compartment tendons. Although primary care settings tend to treat mild cases, high-performance athletes may suffer from severe symptoms that require surgery. This proof-of-concept study aims to help detect the anatomical substrate of forearm intersection syndrome using palpation and ultrasonography when available. METHODS Five individuals were studied using independent palpation and ultrasonography to identify the first dorsal compartment muscles and the second dorsal compartment tendons. The distances between the dorsal (Lister's) tubercle of the radius and the ulnar and radial edges of the first dorsal compartment muscles were measured to determine the location and extent of the muscle-tendon intersection. The palpatory and ultrasonographic measurements were compared using descriptive statistics and the paired t-test. RESULTS The mean distances from the dorsal tubercle of the radius to the ulnar and radial borders of the first dorsal compartment muscles were 4.0 cm (SE 0.42) and 7.7 cm (SE 0.56), respectively, based on palpation. By ultrasonography, the corresponding distances were 3.5 cm (SD 1.05, SE 0.47) and 7.0 cm (SD 1.41, SE 0.63). Both methods showed a similar overlap length. However, ultrasonography revealed a shorter distance between the dorsal tubercle of the radius and the ulnar border of the first compartment than palpation (p = 0.0249). CONCLUSIONS Our findings indicate that a basic knowledge of anatomy should help health professionals diagnose forearm intersection syndrome through palpation and, if available, ultrasonography.

Abstract
The palmar region of the canine carpus is anatomically complex, and the information found in the literature about its anatomy is inconsistent. The aims of this prospective, descriptive, anatomic study were (1) the clarification and (2) the description of the precise anatomic composition of the palmar region of the canine carpus, with special reference to the canalis carpi. For this study, 92 cadaveric specimens were obtained from 46 dogs that had died for reasons unrelated to this study. Of these, 43 medium-to-large-breed dogs were randomly selected for the dissection of transverse slices of the carpus. Samples of the flexor retinaculum and flexor carpi radialis tendon and surrounding tissues were taken for complementary histology. For additional histology of the palmar structures in their anatomical position, three small breed dogs were randomly selected for obtaining transverse slices. The anatomic characteristics of the components of the palmar region of the canine carpus were qualitatively described, with special attention to the following structures: flexor retinaculum, flexor carpi radialis muscle, arteria and vena mediana, nervus medianus, interflexorius muscle, flexor digitorum profundus muscle, canalis carpi, and arteria and nervus ulnaris. The findings from this study provide reference information about the anatomy of the palmar region of the canine carpus.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Stenosing tenosynovitis (STS) is a chronic aseptic inflammation caused by mechanical friction. The main clinical manifestations are local pain and limited activity of the affected parts, which reduce people's quality of life. The clinical effect of acupotomy in the treatment of STS is significant, and the operation is simple and the side effect is small. But there are many kinds of acupotomology, and there is a lack of comparative study between different Acupotomology. In this study, the effectiveness of 4 commonly used needle knife therapies (v-knife, oblique knife, crochet knife, flat knife) was ranked by the method of network meta. METHODS CNKI, Wanfang, VIP, Sinomed, PubMed, and Cochrane Library were searched to collect randomized controlled trials of v-knife, oblique knife, crochet knife, and flat knife in the treatment of STS. The search time limit is from the date of establishment to October 15, 2021. Revman5.3, gemtc 0.14.3, and stata14.2 were used for data analysis, and Cochrane bias risk assessment tool was used to screen and evaluate the quality of included literatures. CONCLUSION Objective to provide evidence-based medicine evidence for clinical selection of the best needle knife treatment scheme for STS.

Abstract
Tendinopathy is labeled by many authors as a troublesome, common pathology, present in up to 30% medical care consultations involving musculoskeletal conditions. Despite the lasting interest for addressing tendon pathology, current researchers agree that even the exact definition of the term tendinopathy is unclear. Tendinopathy is currently diagnosed as a clinical hypothesis based on the patient symptoms and physical context. One of the main goals of current clinical management is to personalize treatment approaches to adapt them to the many different needs of the population. Tendons are complex structures that unite muscles and bones with two main objectives: to transmit forces and storage and release energy. Regarding the tensile properties of the tendons, several authors argued that tendons have higher tensile strength compared with muscles, however, are considered less flexible. Tendinopathy is an accepted term which is used to indicated a variety of tissue conditions that appear in injured tendons and describes a non-rupture damage in the tendon or paratendon, which is intensified with mechanical loading Even when the pathoetiology of tendinopathy is unclear, there is a wide array of treatments available to treat and manage tendinopathy. Although tendinitis usually debuts with an inflammatory response, the majority of chronic tendinopathies do not present inflammation and so the choosing of treatment should vary depending on severity, compliance, pain and duration of symptoms. The purpose of this article is to review and provide an overview about the currently research of the tendon diagnosis, management and etiology.

Abstract
Flexor carpi radialis (FCR) tenosynovitis is a condition characterized by pain over the volar radial wrist caused by inflammation of the FCR tendon sheath. It is an uncommon and often unrecognized pathology that could be misleading from a diagnostic and therapeutic point of view. Treatment usually involves immobilization, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, and injections. In refractory cases, operative release of the FCR tendon sheath may be indicated. In this article, we report our experience in treating FCR tenosynovitis by surgically decompressing the trapezium canal, through which the tendon runs, at the wrist. In our experience, this surgical technique allows a good functional recovery with the resolution of painful symptoms without notable complications.

Abstract
Tendinopathies are common causes of pain and disability in general population and athletes. Conservative treatment is largely preferred, and eccentric exercise or other modalities of therapeutic exercises are recommended. However, this approach requests several weeks of consecutive treatment and could be discouraging. In the last years, injections of different formulations were evaluated to accelerate functional recovery in combination with usual therapy. Hyaluronic acid (HA) preparations were proposed, in particular LMW-HA (500-730 kDa) for its unique molecular characteristics in favored extracellular matrix homeostasis and tenocyte viability. The purpose of our review is to evaluate the state-of-the-art about the role of 500-730 kDa in tendinopathies considering both preclinical and clinical findings and encourage further research on this emerging topic.

Tendinopathies - Common Diagnoses in Hand Surgery Abstract. Tendinopathies are among the most frequent reasons for consulting a hand surgeon. The diagnosis can usually be made clinically. A supplementary ultrasound examination helps to visualize the pathology. Most of these diseases respond to non-surgical treatment. If surgical treatment is necessary, it can usually be performed as an outpatient procedure under local anesthesia. This article provides an overview of the most common tendinopathies of the hand and wrist, their diagnosis and treatment.

Abstract
Overuse wrist injuries are a common problem in athletes and can be related to tendinopathies or osteoarticular pathology.
