Abstract
An efficient sequential multi-component method for the synthesis of tetrahydroquinoline containing dithiocarbamates has been developed. This reaction involved a boronic acid-catalysed reduction of quinolines to tertrahydroquinolines, followed by nucleophilic addition reaction with carbon disulphide to form dithiocarbamic acids and subsequent S-arylation via external base-free Chan-Evans-Lam coupling in a one-pot operation. The methodology is compatible with a wide variety of functional groups and also useful in the late-stage functionalization of pharmaceuticals. The dual role of the boronic acid as a catalyst (in the reduction of quinolines) and as a reagent (in the S-arylation) has been demonstrated for the first time herein.

Abstract
The infection caused by the influenza virus is a latent tret. The limited access to vaccines and approved drugs highlights the need for additional antiviral agents. Nucleozin and its analogs have gain attention for their promising anti-influenza activity. To contribute to the advancement of the discovery and design of nucleozin analogs, we analyzed piperazine-modified nucleozin analogs to increase conformational freedom. Also, we describe a new synthetic strategy to obtain nucleozin and its analogues, three molecules were synthesized and two of them were biologically evaluated in vitro. Although the analogues were less active than nucleozin, the loss of activity highlights the need for the piperazine ring to maintain the activity of nucleozin analogs. Interestingly, this result agrees with the prediction of anti-influenza activity made with a QSAR model presented in this work. The proposed model and the synthetic route will be useful for the further development of nucleozin analogs with antiviral activity.

Abstract
Styrenes have been functionalized to produce styrenyl dithiocarbamates by a one-pot two-step procedure without using any metal catalysts. Styrene was transformed into a bromo-derivative, which undergoes a domino nucleophilic substitution followed by elimination in the presence of a dithiocarbamate anion and triethylamine to produce trans-styrenyl dithiocarbamates exclusively. The reaction shows a wide substrate scope and good yields of products.

Abstract
As the leading cause of cancer death, cervical cancer ranks fourth for both incidence and mortality. Cervical cancer incidence and mortality rates have reportedly decreased over the last decades thanks to extensive screening and widespread vaccination against human papilloma virus. However, there have been no major improvements concerning platinum-based chemotherapy on the survival of advanced cervical cancer. Thus, novel agents are urgently needed for the improvement of therapeutic effect. With the development of molecular biology and genomics, targeted therapy research has achieved a breakthrough development, including anti-angiogenesis, immune checkpoint inhibitors, and other treatments that are efficient for treatment of cervical cancer. Apoptosis is a crucial process for tumor progression. Drugs directed at inducing tumor-cell apoptosis are regarded as important treatment modalities. Besides, a number of novel compounds synthesized or derived from plants or microorganisms exhibited prominent anti-cancer activity by changing the apoptotic balance in cervical cancer. In this review, we summarized new target therapy drugs ongoing clinical trials that are used for treatment of cervical cancer. Further, we classified novel agents with a focus on improvement of therapeutic effect pre-clinically. To summarize, we also discussed application prospects of the new uses of old drugs and drug combinations, to provide researchers with new ideas for cervical cancer treatment.

Abstract
Novel quinoline-dithiocarbamate hybrids were synthesized and designed by the molecular hybridization strategy. All these derivatives were evaluated for their antiproliferative activity against three selected cancer cell lines (MGC-803, HepG-2 and PC-3). Among them, compound 10c displayed the best antiproliferative activity against PC-3 cells with an IC50 value of 0.43 μM. Celluar mechanisms investigated that compound 10c could inhibit the migration against PC-3 cells by regulation the expression levels of E-cadherin and N-cadherin. Compound 10c induced morphological changes of PC-3 cells and regulated apoptosis-related proteins (Bcl-2, Bax and Cleaved-Parp). In addition, compound 10c inhibited tubulin polymerization in vitro with an IC50 value of 4.02 μM. Importantly, compound 10c inhibited the growth of PC-3 cells in vivo with the low toxicity toward mice. These results suggested that compound 10c might be an antitumor agent with potential for treating prostate cancer.

Abstract
Two novel series of 1,2,3-triazole-phenothiazine hybrids and dithiocarbamate-phenothiazine hybrids were designed and synthesized by molecular hybridization strategy. Their antiproliferative activity against three gastric cancer cell lines (MKN28, MGC-803 and MKN45) were evaluated. Among them, hybrid 13h displayed the most potent inhibitory activity against gastric cancer MGC-803 cells with an IC50 value of 1.2 μM. Hybrid 13h could inhibit migration by regulating the expression level of N-cadherin, E-cadherin, Vimentin, and actived-MMP2. Furthermore, it could regulate wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway on MGC-803 cells in a concentration-dependent manner by decreasing the expression level of Wnt5α, β-catenin and TCF4. From the tubulin polymerization assay results in vitro, hybrid 13h was a novel tubulin polymerization inhibitor. By oral administration assay, compound 13h could effectively inhibit MGC-803 xenograft tumor growth in vivo without obvious side effects. In summary, compound 13h might be an orally active antitumor agent with clinical applications to the treatment of gastric cancer.
