Abstract
Hydroxyapatite-derived eggshell biowaste (Hap-Esb) has been fabricated and developed for the electrochemical detection of uric acid (UA). The physicochemical characteristics of the Hap-Esb and modified electrodes were evaluated using a scanning electron microscope and X-ray Diffraction analysis. Utilized as UA sensors, the electrochemical behavior of modified electrodes (Hap-Esb/ZnONPs/ACE) was assessed using cyclic voltammetry (CV). The superior peak current response observed for the oxidation of UA at Hap-Esb/ZnONPs/ACE, which was 13 times higher than that of the Hap-Esb/activated carbon electrode (Hap-Esb/ACE) is attributed to the simple immobilization of Hap-Esb on zinc oxide nanoparticle-modified ACE. The UA sensor exhibited a linear range at 0.01 to 1 μM, low detection limit (0.0086 μM), and excellent stability, which surpass the existing Hap-based electrodes reported in the literature. The facile UA sensor subsequently realized is also advantaged by its simplicity, repeatability, reproducibility, and low cost, applicable for real sample analysis (human urine sample).

Abstract
In this present work, an electrochemical sensor was developed for the sensing of uric acid (UA). The sensor was based on a carbon paste electrode (CPE) modified with electroactive polyimide (EPI) synthesized using aniline tetramer (ACAT) decorated with reduced nanoparticles (NPs) of Au, Pt, and Ag. The initial step involved the preparation and characterization of ACAT. Subsequently, the ACAT-based EPI synthesis was performed by chemical imidization of its precursors 4,4′-(4.4′-isopropylidene-diphenoxy) bis (phthalic anhydride) BPADA and ACAT. Then, EPI was doped with distinctive particles of Ag, Pt and Au, and the doped EPIs were abbreviated as EPIS, EPIP and EPIG, respectively. Their structures were characterized by XRD, XPS, and TEM, and the electrochemical properties were determined by cyclic voltammetry and chronoamperometry. Among these evaluated sensors, EPI with Au NPs turned out the best with a sensitivity of 1.53 uA uM−1 UA, a low limit of detection (LOD) of 0.78 uM, and a linear detection range (LDR) of 5–50 uM UA at a low potential value of 310 mV. Additionally, differential pulse voltammetric (DPV) analysis showed that the EPIG sensor showed the best selectivity for a tertiary mixture of UA, dopamine (DA), and ascorbic acid (AA) as compared to EPIP and EPIS.

Abstract
A new N-doped carbon dots (NCDs) could be prepared by using the microwave-assisted technique within 10 min without the need for any solvent or catalyst. The NCDs exhibited a highly sensitive electrochemical response toward dopamine (DA) in Phosphate Buffered Saline (PBS) (pH=6.5). The detection limit of DA was calculated by differential pulse voltammetry (DPV) as low as 1.2×10(-9) mol/L with a linear dynamic range of 5.0×10(-8) to 8.0×10(-6) mol/L. These results suggested that this new NCDs could be effectively used for the direct and rapid detection of trace levels of DA in human serum and urine samples.

Abstract
Novel 1D nanostructures offer new opportunities for improving the performance of electrochemical sensors. In this study, highly ordered 1D nanostructure array electrodes composed of SnO2 nanoparticle-coated ZnO (SnO2 @ZnO) nanotubes are designed and fabricated. The composite nanotube array architecture not only endows the electrochemical electrodes with large surface areas, but also allows electrons to be quickly transferred along the nanotubes. Modifying the SnO2 @ZnO nanotube arrays with negatively charged polymer film and employing them as a working electrode, sensitive and selective electrochemical detection of an important neurotransmitter, i.e., dopamine, is realized via the cycle voltammetry (CV) and differential pulse voltammetry (DPV) techniques. Interference from ascorbic acid can be successfully eliminated. The oxidative peak currents recorded from CV linearly depend on the dopamine concentrations from 0.1 to 100 μM with a sensitivity of 2.16 × 10(-7) A μM(-1) cm(-2) and detection limit of 45.2 nM. Using the DPV technique, an improved sensitivity and detection limit of 1.94 × 10(-6) A μM(-1) cm(-2) and 17.7 nM are respectively achieved. Moreover, the SnO2 @ZnO nanotube array electrodes can be reused through simple ultrasonical cleaning and no obvious deterioration is observed in the performance.
