Abstract
Detection of biomarkers is very vital in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of diseases. However, due to the poor accuracy and sensitivity of the constructed biosensors, we are now facing great challenges. In addressing these problems, nanohybrid-based dual mode biosensors including optical-optical, optical-electrochemical and electrochemical-electrochemical have been developed to detect various biomarkers. Integrating the merits of nanomaterials with abundant active sites, synergy and excellent physicochemical properties, many bi-functional nanohybrids have been reasonable designed and controllable preparation, which applied to the construction dual mode biosensors. Despite the significant progress, further efforts are still needed to develop dual mode biosensors and ensure their practical application by using portable digital devices. Therefore, the present review summarizes an in-depth evaluation of the bi-functional nanohybrids assisted dual mode biosensing platform of biomarkers. We are hoping this review could inspire further concepts in developing novel dual mode biosensors for possible detection application.

Voltammetric Determination of Ascorbic Acid Content in Cabbage Using Anthraquinone Modified Carbon Paste Electrode. J CHEM-NY 2022. Abstract
In this study, a low-cost, sensitive, and efficient voltammetric method based on anthraquinone modified carbon paste electrode was developed for determination of ascorbic acid in cabbage samples. After cyclic voltammetry was used to investigate the electrochemical behavior of ascorbic acid and to study dependence of oxidative peak current on scan rate and pH, square wave voltammetric method was developed for direct determination of ascorbic acid in cabbage samples. In contrast to the unmodified carbon paste electrode, a remarkable enhancement in oxidative peak current at anthraquinone modified carbon paste electrode confirmed electrocatalytic property of the modifier towards oxidation of ascorbic acid. A better correlation coefficient for the dependence of peak current on the square root of scan rate (
) than on the scan rate (
) indicated that the oxidation of ascorbic acid at anthraquinone modified carbon paste electrode is predominantly governed by diffusion-controlled process. Square wave amplitude, square wave step potential, and square wave frequency are optimized for the investigation of AA in cabbage. The optimized values are 30 mV, 7 mV, and 35 Hz, respectively. Under the optimized method and solution parameters, an excellent linear response was observed between square wave voltammetric peak current of AQMCPE and concentration of ascorbic acid in the range
to
M with a better correlation coefficient (
) and detection limit (
M). The ascorbic acid content of the three cabbage samples from three different cabbage growing areas was found in the range
–
mg/g of powdered cabbage. Excellent recovery results between 95.042 and 96.139% for spiked ascorbic acid in cabbage samples confirmed the potential applicability of the developed method based on AQMCPE for the determination of ascorbic acid in real samples like cabbage.

Abstract
The detection of folic acid in biological samples or pharmaceutical products is of great importance due to its implications in the biological functions of the human body, along with the development and growth of the fetus. The deficiency of folic acid can be reversed by the intake of different pharmaceutical formulations or alimentary products fortified with this molecule. The elaboration of sensing platforms represents a continuous work in progress, a task in which the use of conductive polymers modified with different functionalities represents one of the outcoming strategies. The possibility of manipulating their morphology with the use of templates or surfactants represents another advantage. A sensing platform based on carboxylic functionalized polypyrrole was synthesized via the electrochemical approach in the presence of a polymeric surfactant on a graphite-based surface. The sensor was able to detect the folic acid from 2.5 μM to 200 μM with a calculated limited of detection of 0.8 μM. It was employed for the detection of the analyte from commercial human serum and pharmaceutical products with excellent recovery rates. The results were double checked using an optimized spectrophotometric procedure that confirmed furthermore the performances of the sensor related to real samples assessment.

Abstract
In this paper, a simple, sensitive and precise electroanalytical method was developed using flow injection analysis (FIA) with amperometric detection and reduced graphene oxide sensor for ascorbic acid determination in samples of multivitamin beverages, milk, fermented milk, and milk chocolate. The advantages of this sensor include a potential displacement of 450 mV and a 2-fold peak current increase for electrochemical oxidation of ascorbic acid, which resulted in a highly sensitive method. No interference of sample matrix was observed, avoiding solvent extraction procedures (samples were only diluted). The FIA allowed a high analytical frequency, approximately 96 injections per hour, together with adequate detection limit of 4.7 μmol L-1. Good precision (RSD < 7%) and accuracy (recoveries between 91 and 108%) evidenced the robustness of the method. The method was compared with ultra-fast liquid chromatography (UFLC) obtaining statistically similar results (95% confidence level). The ascorbic acid content in samples varied from 0.065 to 2.53 mmol L-1.

Abstract
The current work describes the use of a steel acupuncture needle as an electrode substrate in order to construct an Ni6MnO8 nanoflake layer-modified microneedle sensor for highly sensitive ascorbic acid detection. For the purpose of constructing the functionalized acupuncture needle, first, a carbon film was layered on the needle surface as the seed layer. Subsequently, a straightforward hydrothermal reaction-calcination process was employed for the growth of Ni6MnO8 nanoflakes on the needle to function as a sensing interface. Electrochemical investigations illustrated the fact that the Ni6MnO8 nanoflake-altered acupuncture needle electrode manifested outstanding efficiency toward the amperometric identification of ascorbic acid. In addition, the electrode manifested elevated sensitivity of 3106 μA mM-1 cm-2, detection limit of 0.1 μM, and a broad linear range between 1.0 μM and 2.0 mM. As demonstrated by the results, the Ni6MnO8 nanoflake-modified acupuncture needle constitutes a potentially fresh platform to construct non-enzymatic ascorbic acid sensors.

Abstract
Abstract
The unique properties of nanoparticles make them an extremely valuable modifying material, being used in electrochemical sensors. The features of nanoparticles affect the kinetics and thermodynamics of electrode processes of both nanoparticles and redox reactions occurring on their surface. The paper describes theoretical background and experimental studies of these processes. During the transition from macro- to micro- and nanostructures, the analytical characteristics of sensors modify. These features of metal nanoparticles are related to their size and energy effects, which affects the analytical characteristics of developed sensors. Modification of the macroelectrode with nanoparticles and other nanomaterials reduces the detection limit and improves the degree of sensitivity and selectivity of measurements. The use of nanoparticles as transducers, catalytic constituents, parts of electrochemical sensors for antioxidant detection, adsorbents, analyte transporters, and labels in electrochemical immunosensors and signal-generating elements is described.

Abstract
The growing interest in functional foods had led to the use of analytical techniques to quantify some properties, among which is the antioxidant capacity (AC). In order to identify and quantify this capacity, some techniques are used, based on synthetic radicals capture; and they are monitored by UV-vis spectrophotometry. Electrochemical techniques are emerging as alternatives, given some of the disadvantages faced by spectrophotometric methods such as the use of expensive reagent not environmentally friendly, undefined reaction time, long sample pretreatment, and low precision and sensitivity. This review focuses on the four most commonly used electrochemical techniques (cyclic voltammetry, differential pulse voltammetry, square wave voltammetry and chronoamperometry). Some of the applications to determine AC in foods and beverages are presented, as well as the correlation between both spectrophotometric and electrochemical techniques that have been reported.

Abstract
Simultaneous electrochemical determination of nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NADH) and ascorbic acid (AA) at a carbon nanotube electrode is presented. The discrimination of NADH and AA is conducted with the difference of peak potential by differential pulse voltammetry. Two well-distinguished anodic peaks, +0.56 and +0.26 V, due to NADH and AA are observed. The characteristics of those peaks were independent from each other. The attained characteristics for simultaneous determination of NADH and AA are (i) NADH measurement at the concentration range of 0.030 - 2.0 mM in the presence of 1.2 mM AA, and (ii) AA measurement at the concentration range of 0.030 - 2.0 mM in the presence of 2.0 mM NADH.

Abstract
A novel electrochemical sensor has been developed by using a composite element of three-dimensional (3D) nanoporous nickel (NPNi) and molecularly imprinted polymer (MIP). NPNi is introduced in order to enhance the electron-transport ability and surface area of the sensor, while the electrosynthesized MIP layer affords simultaneous identification and quantification of the target molecule by employing Fe(CN)6(3-/4-) as the probe to indicate the current intensity. The morphology of the hybrid film was observed by scanning electron microscopy, and the properties of the sensor were examined by cyclic voltammetry and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. By using metronidazole (MNZ) as a model analyte, the sensor based on the MIP/NPNi hybrid exhibits great features such as a remarkably low detection limit of 2 × 10(-14) M (S/N = 3), superb selectivity in discriminating MNZ from its structural analogues, and good antiinterference ability toward several coexisting substances. Moreover, the proposed method also demonstrates excellent repeatability and stability, with relative standard deviations of less than 1.12% and 1.4%, respectively. Analysis of MNZ in pharmaceutical dosage form and fish tissue is successfully carried out without assistance of complicated pretreatment. The MIP/NPNi composite presented here with admirable merits makes it a promising candidate for developing electrochemical sensor devices and plays a role in widespread fields.
