Abstract
Herein, a unique synthetic approach called microemulsion is used to create nickel nanoparticles (Ni-NPs). SEM, TEM, EDX, and XRD techniques were employed for the investigation of morphology and structures of the synthesized material. Electrons from electroactive components are transferred to external circuits by Ni-NPs' superior electrical conductivity and interconnected nanostructures, which also provide a large number of channels for ion diffusion and additional active sites. The experimental findings showed that as a positive electrode for supercapacitors (SC), Ni-NPs had an outstanding ability to store charge, with a dominant capacitive charge storage of 72.4% when measured at 10 mV/s. Furthermore, at 1 A/g, Ni-NP electrodes exhibit a maximum capacitance of 730 F/g. Further, the Ni-NP electrode retains 92.4% of its capacitance even for 5000 cycles, highlighting possible applications for it in the developing field of renewable energy. The current study provides a new method for producing high-rate next-generation electrodes for supercapacitors.

Abstract
Additive manufacturing or 3D-printing have become promising fabrication techniques in the field of electrochemical energy storage applications such as supercapacitors, and batteries. Of late, a commercially available graphene/polylactic acid (PLA) filament has been commonly used for Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) 3D-printing in the fabrication of electrodes for supercapacitors and Li-ion batteries. This graphene/PLA filament contains metal-based impurities such as titanium oxide and iron oxide. In this study, we show a strong influence of inherent impurities in the graphene/PLA filament for supercapacitor applications. A 3D-printed electrode is prepared and subsequently thermally activated for electrochemical measurement. A deep insight has been taken to look into the pseudocapacitive contribution from the metal-based impurities which significantly enhanced the overall capacitance of the 3D-printed graphene/PLA electrode. A systematic approach has been shown to remove the impurities from the printed electrodes. This has a broad implication on the interpretation of the capacitance of 3D-printed composites.

Abstract
This work reports the synthesis and application of magnetic rGO/Fe3O4 NCs using a pod extract of Dolichos lablab L. as areducing agent. GO was synthesized by a modified Hummers method, however GO was reduced using the plant extract to produce rGO. The as-synthesized rGO/Fe3O4 NCs were characterized by UV-vis spectrophotometer, Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy, FT-Raman spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction (XRD), field emission scanning electron microscopy supported with energy dispersed X-ray spectroscopy (FESEM-EDX), transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM). The synthesis of magnetic rGO/Fe3O4 NCs was confirmed from characterization results of FT-Raman, TEM and VSM. The FT-Raman results showed the D and G bands at 1306.92 cm−1 and 1591 cm−1 due to rGO and a peak at around 589 cm−1 due to Fe3O4 NPs that were anchored on rGO sheets; TEM results showed the synthesis of Fe3O4 with an average particle size of 8.86 nm anchored on the surface of rGO sheets. The VSM result confirmed the superparamagnetic properties of the rGO/Fe3O4 NCs with a saturation magnetization of 42 emu g−1. The adsorption capacity of rGO/Fe3O4 NCs towards crystal violet (CV) dye was calculated to be 62 mg g−1. The dye removal behavior fitted well with the Freundlich isotherm and the pseudo-second-order kinetic model implies possible chemisorption. Besides, rGO/Fe3O4 NCs showed antifungal activities against Trichophyton mentagrophytes and Candida albicans by agar-well diffusion method with a zone inhibition of 24 mm and 21 mm, respectively. Therefore, rGO/Fe3O4 NCs can be used as an excellent adsorbent to remove organic dye pollutants and kill pathogens. This work reports synthesis of magnetic rGO/Fe3O4 NCs using pod extract of Dolichos lablab L. as a reducing agent and its applications.![]()

Abstract
Advances in the synthesis and processing of graphene-based materials have presented the opportunity to design novel lithium-ion battery (LIB) anode materials that can meet the power requirements of next-generation power devices. In this work, a poly(methacrylic acid) (PMAA)-induced self-assembly process was used to design super-mesoporous Fe3O4 and reduced-graphene-oxide (Fe3O4@RGO) anode materials. We demonstrate the relationship between the media pH and Fe3O4@RGO nanostructure, in terms of dispersion state of PMAA-stabilized Fe3O4@GO sheets at different surrounding pH values, and porosity of the resulted Fe3O4@RGO anode. The anode shows a high surface area of 338.8 m2 g-1 with a large amount of 10-40 nm mesopores, which facilitates the kinetics of Li-ions and electrons, and improves electrode durability. As a result, Fe3O4@RGO delivers high specific-charge capacities of 740 mA h g-1 to 200 mA h g-1 at various current densities of 0.5 A g-1 to 10 A g-1, and an excellent capacity-retention capability even after long-term charge-discharge cycles. The PMAA-induced assembly method addresses the issue of poor dispersion of Fe3O4-coated graphene materials-which is a major impediment in the synthesis process-and provides a facile synthetic pathway for depositing Fe3O4 and other metal oxide nanoparticles on highly porous RGO.

Abstract
As highly efficient and clean electrochemical energy storage devices, supercapacitors (SCs) have drawn widespread attention as promising alternatives to batteries in recent years. Among various electrode materials, iron oxide materials have been widely studied as negative SC electrode materials due to their broad working window in negative potential, ideal theoretical specific capacitance, good redox activity, abundant availability, and eco-friendliness. However, iron oxides still suffer from the problems of low stability and poor conductivity. In this review, recent progress in iron oxide-based nanomaterials, including Fe2O3, Fe3O4, FexOy, and FeOOH, as electrode materials of SCs, is discussed. The nanostructure design and various synergistic effects of nanocomposites for improving the electrochemical performance of iron oxides are emphasized. Research on iron oxide-based symmetric/asymmetric SCs is also discussed. Future outlooks regarding iron oxides for SCs are likewise proposed.

Abstract
A simple, novel approach is proposed for the preparation of plasma-exfoliated graphene (PEGN) by reducing graphene oxide (GO) through a dielectric-barrier discharge (DBD) plasma treatment in a H2 atmosphere. The surface chemistry, microstructures, and crystallinity of the prepared samples were characterized via X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, transmission electron microscopy, and Raman spectrometry to determine the formation mechanism of the PEGN. The results demonstrated that the prepared PEGN had only a few layers in its structure and that most of the functional groups containing oxygen on the GO surface were removed. The PEGN exhibited a considerably higher capacity, better cycling stability, and favorable electron transfer rate for use as a cathode material for lithium-ion batteries. This proposed approach is fast, convenient, and inexpensive, constituting a novel means of producing graphene.

Abstract
Iron oxides (FeO x ), such as Fe2O3 and Fe3O4 materials, have attracted much attention because of their rich abundance, low cost, and environmental friendliness. However, FeO x , which is similar to most transition metal oxides, possesses a poor rate capability and cycling life. Thus, FeO x -based materials consisting of FeO x , carbon, and metal-based materials have been widely explored. This article mainly discusses FeO x -based materials (Fe2O3 and Fe3O4) for electrochemical energy storage applications, including supercapacitors and rechargeable batteries (e.g., lithium-ion batteries and sodium-ion batteries). Furthermore, future perspectives and challenges of FeO x -based materials for electrochemical energy storage are briefly discussed.

Abstract
Fe3O4-graphene/ZnO@mesoporous-SiO2 (MGZ@SiO2) nanocomposites was synthesized via a simple one pot hydrothermal method. The as-obtained samples were investigated using various techniques, as follows: scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), and specific surface area (BET) vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM), among others. The sonocatalytic activities of the catalysts were tested according to the oxidation for the removal of methylene blue (MB), methyl orange (MO), and rhodamine B (RhB) under ultrasonic irradiation. The optimal conditions including the irradiation time, pH, dye concentration, catalyst dosage, and ultrasonic intensity are 60min, 11, 50mg/L, 1.00g/L, and 40W/m2, respectively. The MGZ@SiO2 showed the higher enhanced sonocatalytic degradation from among the three dyes; furthermore, the sonocatalytic-degradation mechanism is discussed. This study shows that the MGZ@SiO2 can be applied asa novel-design catalyst for the removal of organic pollutants from aqueous solutions.
