Abstract
Bio-derived chitosan-molybdenum di sulfide (Cs-MoS2) nanocomposites are prepared by a simple and economical aqueous casting method with varying concentrations of MoS2. The structural, surface morphological, optical, and electrochemical properties of the nanocomposites were studied. FTIR analysis reveals the strong interaction between Cs and MoS2. FESEM micrograph showed an increment of the surface roughness due to the incorporation of MoS2 layers into Cs. The surface wettability of the nanocomposites was found to be decreased from 73° to 33° due to the incorporation of MoS2 into the chitosan. UV-vis spectroscopy study demonstrates a reduction of optical bandgap from 4.29 to 3.44 eV as the nanofiller, MoS2, introduces localized states within the forbidden energy bandgap. The incorporation of MoS2 was found to increase the specific capacitance of Cs from 421 mFg-1 to 1589 mFg-1 at a current density of 100 μAg-1. The EIS analysis revealed an increase in the pseudo-capacitance from 0.09 μF to 4.13 μF and a reduction of charge transfer resistance that comes from the nanofiller contribution. MoS2 nanoflower introduces more active sites and expands the electroactive zone, thus improving the charge storage property of Cs. The Cs-MoS2 may offer a new route for the synthesis of eco-friendly, biodegradable, and electrical storage devices.

Abstract
Smart textiles are transforming the future of wearable technology, and due to that, there has been a great deal of new research looking for alternative energy storage. Supercapacitors offer high discharge rates, flexibility, and long life cycles and can be integrated fully into a textile. Optimization of these new systems includes utilizing electrically conductive materials, employing successful electrostatic charge and/or faradaic responses, and fabricating a textile-based energy storage system without disrupting comfort, washability, and life cycle. This paper examines recent developments in fabrication methods and materials used to create textile supercapacitors and what challenges still remain.

Abstract
High-energy electrodes at high mass loadings (usually >8.0 mg cm-2 ) are desired for aqueous pseudocapacitors. Yet, how to overcome the thickness-dependent resistance increase of ion/electron transport in pseudocapacitive materials is still challenging. Herein, a high-performance electrode (denoted as AMC) adapted to high mass loading is achieved by promoting the Li-ion affinity of 3D MoO2 /carbon fabric. The experimental results and corresponding computational results reveal that the oxygen-activated surface of AMC, combined with the wettability and conductivity superiority of 3D graphite network, significantly facilitates the Li-ion adsorption and diffusion at the electrode/electrolyte interface, even at large thicknesses. Consequently, even at a high mass loading up to 8.1 mg cm-2 , the AMC electrode also displays an impressive specific capacity (567.5 C g-1 at 2.5 A g-1 ), substantially superior to most advanced pseudocapacitive electrodes. The strategy of boosting energy characteristic by enhancing the affinity of charge carriers is applicable to other pseudocapacitive electrodes.

Flexible, Transparent and Highly Conductive Polymer Film Electrodes for All-Solid-State Transparent Supercapacitor Applications. MEMBRANES 2021; 11:membranes11100788. Abstract
Lightweight energy storage devices with high mechanical flexibility, superior electrochemical properties and good optical transparency are highly desired for next-generation smart wearable electronics. The development of high-performance flexible and transparent electrodes for supercapacitor applications is thus attracting great attention. In this work, we successfully developed flexible, transparent and highly conductive film electrodes based on a conducting polymer, poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene):poly(styrenesulfonate) (PEDOT:PSS). The PEDOT:PSS film electrodes were prepared via a simple spin-coating approach followed by a post-treatment with a salt solution. After treatment, the film electrodes achieved a high areal specific capacitance (3.92 mF/cm2 at 1 mA/cm2) and long cycling lifetime (capacitance retention >90% after 3000 cycles) with high transmittance (>60% at 550 nm). Owing to their good optoelectronic and electrochemical properties, the as-assembled all-solid-state device for which the PEDOT:PSS film electrodes were utilized as both the active electrode materials and current collectors also exhibited superior energy storage performance over other PEDOT-based flexible and transparent symmetric supercapacitors in the literature. This work provides an effective approach for producing high-performance, flexible and transparent polymer electrodes for supercapacitor applications. The as-obtained polymer film electrodes can also be highly promising for future flexible transparent portable electronics.

Abstract
Composites of commercially available graphene oxide (GO) and poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene):poly(styrenesulfonate) (PEDOT:PSS) with solvent additive ethylene glycol (EG) were investigated as an alternative support for Pt nanoparticles towards the electrocatalytic reduction of oxygen. The surface characteristics of the materials were examined using atomic force microscopy (AFM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), field-emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), and energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS). Cyclic voltammetry (CV) and linear sweep voltammetry (LSV) at rotating disk electrodes (RDEs) and rotating ring-disk electrodes (RRDEs) were used to characterise the electrocatalytic activities of the composites materials. The structural and electrochemical studies reveal that the addition of EG favours the homogeneous distribution of Pt particles with reduced particle size and improves the electrocatalytic properties. A 30% and 16% increase in electrochemically active surface area (ECSA), a 1.2 and 1.1 fold increase in specific area activity (SA), and a 1.5 and 1.2 fold increase in mass activity (MA) were observed for 30% and 40% Pt loading on PEDOT:PSS after the addition of EG. A composite of rGO and PEDOT:PSS(EG) was investigated for different (w/w) ratios of PEDOT:PSS and rGO. The 1 : 2 w/w ratio showed an enhanced catalytic activity with high limiting current, more positive onset potential, higher SA and MA with lower H2O2 yield compared to PEDOT:PSS(EG) and rGO and previously reported values for PEDOT:PSS.

Abstract
This work investigated the potential application of roll-to-roll printed PEDOT:PSS on an ITO/PET substrate using Pb2+ containing 0.1 M NaCl aqueous solution for a supercapattery. The PEDOT:PSS/ITO/PET electrode achieved 2.2 μAh cm-2 (46.5 mAh g-1) in 0.1 M NaCl and 10 μAh cm-2 (216.8 mAh g-1) in 2 mM Pb2+/0.1 M NaCl at a current density of 0.2 mA cm-2 (4.34 A g-1). The electrode also shows good cyclic performance that retains 63% of its initial capacitance after 1000 charge-discharge cycles. A device operating at a high voltage of 1.8 V was built using PEDOT:PSS/ITO/PET in aqueous electrolyte. The energy density of the symmetric PEDOT:PSS/ITO/PET device is 6.2 Wh kg-1 in 0.1 M NaCl and is improved to 11 Wh kg-1 in 3 mM Pb2+/0.1 M NaCl.
