An ultrasensitive solid-state electrochemiluminescence sensor based on Ni-MOF@Ru(bpy)32+ and Au NPs@TiO2 for determination of permethrin

The novel TiO2 and Ni-MOF materials were synthesized and utilized for the detection of permethrin (PET). A highly sensitive solid-state electrochemiluminescence (ECL) sensor was developed based on Ni-MOF@Ru(bpy)32+ and Au NPs@TiO2. In this sensing platform, Ru(bpy)32+-Tripropyl Amine (TPrA) was used as a luminescent signal, Ni-MOF acted as a carrier to carry more luminescent reagents Ru(bpy)32+. Au NPs acted as promoters facilitated electron transport and TiO2 could further enhance the luminescence intensity of the system by synergistical interaction with Au NPs. The possible mechanisms of signal amplification were investigated. The ECL intensity decreased significantly with increasing PET concentration, enabling the determination of PET amount through the observation of the change in ECL signal intensity (ΔI). Under optimal experimental conditions, the linear range of PET concentration from 1.0 × 10-11 mol L-1 to 1.0 × 10-6 mol L-1, with a detection limit of 3.3 × 10-12 mol L-1 (3S/N). This method was successfully applied to determine PET in various vegetable samples.

Highly selective molecularly imprinted-electrochemiluminescence sensor based on perovskite/Ru(bpy)32+ for simazine detection in aquatic products

A novel molecularly imprinted electrochemiluminescence (MIECL) sensor based on the luminescence of molecularly imprinted polymer-perovskite (MIP-CsPbBr₃) layer and Ru(bpy)₃²⁺ was fabricated for simazine detection. MIP-CsPbBr₃ layers were immobilized onto the surface of glassy carbon electrode as the capture and signal amplification probe, and Ru(bpy)₃²⁺ and co-reactant tripropylamine exhibited stronger electrochemiluminescence (ECL) emission. Under optimal conditions, the ECL signal of the MIECL sensor was linearly quenched, with the logarithm of simazine concentration ranging from 0.1 μg/L to 500.0 μg/L, correlation coefficient of 0.9947, and limit of detection of 0.06 μg/L. The practicality of the developed MIECL sensor method for simazine determination in aquatic samples was validated. Excellent recoveries of 86.5 %-103.9 % with relative standard deviation below 1.6 % were obtained for fish and shrimp samples at three different spiked concentrations. The MIECL sensor exhibited excellent selectivity, sensitivity, reproducibility, accuracy, and precision for simazine determination in actual aquatic samples.

Highly Sensitive Detection of the Insecticide Azamethiphos by Tris(2,2'-bipyridine)ruthenium(II) Electrogenerated Chemiluminescence

Azamethiphos (AZA) is an insecticide and neurotoxic agent that causes the inhibition of acetylcholinesterase (AChE). AChE is a vital enzyme for neurotransmission because it metabolizes acetylcholine neurotransmitter at the synaptic cleft and terminates synaptic transmission. It is worth mentioning that organophosphates and carbamates inhibit AChE. These AChE inhibitors bind to the active site of the enzyme and inactivate it, leading to paralysis and death. Herein, for the first time, we develop a sensitive, low-cost, and rapid electrogenerated chemiluminescence (ECL) system for the detection of AZA. The designed ECL sensor was applied for the highly sensitive detection of AZA with a wide dynamic range (from 0.1 μM to 1000 μM) and low detection limit of 0.07 μM (S/N = 3). The practical utility of the sensor demonstrates high recoveries (96-102%) in real samples of lake water and wastewater.
