Abstract
The present study was conducted to analyze the level of four priority polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), including benzo[a]pyrene (BaP), chrysene (Chr), benzo[a]anthracene (BaA), and benzo[b]fluoranthene (BbF), in traditionally smoked chicken products marketed in China. The results show that the amount of ƩPAH4 (the sum of four different PAHs: BaP, Chr, BaA, and BbF) was 30.43-225.17 and 18.75-129.54 µg/kg in the skin and meat of smoked chicken products, respectively. The content of ƩPAH4 in the smoked skin was significantly higher as compared to the smoked meat (p < 0.05). The calculation of MOE (margin of exposure) results suggested the possibilities of ingestion risk associated with the consumption of smoked chicken skin. Furthermore, the formaldehyde content in the skin of smoked chicken was 2.17-6.84 mg/kg and 0.86-2.95 mg/kg in the smoked meat. These results indicate that optimization or alternative methods for food processing should be developed to reduce the high level of harmful substances formed during processing to ensure the safety of smoked chicken products. Moreover, along with harmful substances, the moisture content and color of traditionally smoked chicken were analyzed to provide a practical reference for healthy, safe and green processing technology for smoked chicken.

Abstract
Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) are a class of organic compounds that are composed of aromatic rings containing only carbon and hydrogen atoms. They are one of the widespread environmental pollutants in the world. In recent years, many scholars have focused on the inhibition, formation mechanism, content of active components, and biodegradation effect of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons. They summarized the research progress of pretreatment methods for detection, but rarely discussed the experimental dataset for comprehensive analysis of pollution sources and the impact of different pretreatment technologies on the extraction of different substrates. What is more, computer simulation has not been mentioned. In this study, the pollution sources of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) are reviewed, and the related applications of various pretreatment methods such as gel permeation chromatography (GPC) are summarized. Finally, the computer simulation of the response surface method is introduced. The concentration of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons is tested or predicted by combining the neural network with the alternating trilinear decomposition (ATLD) algorithm, artificial population algorithm (ABC), and hierarchical genetic algorithm (HGA). Its future development trend is discussed and prospected, which provides a reference for solving the pollution problem. We look forward to providing help for the follow-up research of scholars in this field.

Abstract
Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), the main component of petroleum, are a concern due to their environmental persistence, long-range transport, and potential toxic effects on animal, human health, and the environment. PAHs are considered persistent compounds and can be bioaccumulated in sediments and aquatic biota. Determining PAHs in animals and environmental samples consists of three steps: extraction, clean-up or purification, and analytical determination. The matrix complexity and the diversity of environmental contaminants, such as PAHs resulted in the development of numerous analytical techniques and protocols for the extraction of these components and analysis in several samples. This systematic review article seeks to relate the extraction and preparation methods of complex samples from aquatic animals and the two main detection techniques of PAHs. For the elaboration of the research, 67 articles published between 2011 and 2021 were sought, which specifically contemplated the isolation of aquatic extracts and detection and quantification techniques of PAHs.

Abstract
Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons (PAHs) are ubiquitous environmental contaminants and their accurate determination is very important to human health and environment safety. In this review, sorptive-based micro-extraction techniques [such as Solid-Phase Micro-extraction (SPME), Stir Bar Sorptive Extraction (SBSE), Micro-extraction in Packed Sorbent (MEPS)] and solvent-based micro-extraction [Membrane-Mediated Liquid-Phase Micro-extraction (MM-LPME), Dispersive Liquid-Liquid Micro-extraction (DLLME), and Single Drop Micro-extraction (SDME)] developed for quantification of PAHs in environmental, biological and food samples are reviewed. Moreover, recent micro-extraction techniques that have been coupled with other sample extraction strategies are also briefly discussed. The main objectives of these micro-extraction techniques are to perform extraction, pre-concentration and clean up together as one step, and the reduction of the analysis time, cost and solvent following the green chemistry guidelines.

Abstract
Background:
A Vortex-assisted dispersive liquid-liquid microextraction (VA-DLLME)
method is presented for the determination of aspirin (acetylsalicylic acid) in human urine by spectrofluorimetry.
Objective:
To determine trace levels of aspirin in biologic samples by using green and low-cost method
development.
Methods:
For the microextraction procedure, chloroform and acetonitrile were used as extraction and
disperser solvent, respectively. The factors affecting the efficiency of extraction such as volume of chloroform,
volumes of acetonitrile, ionic strength, sample pH, centrifuging time, and extraction time were
investigated. Then significant variables were optimized by the response surface method using the Box-
Behnken design.
Results:
Under the optimum extraction conditions, a linear calibration curve in the range of 0.1 to 130
ng mL-1 with a correlation coefficient of R2 = 0.998 was obtained. The limits of detection (LOD) and
limits of quantification (LOQ) were 0.031 and 0.103 ng mL-1, respectively. The relative standard deviations
(RSD) were less than 4%.
Conclusion:
Enrichment factor and recoveries were achieved for the extraction of aspirin in human
urine. This method gives a rapid, simple, sensitive and environmentally friendly for the measurement of
trace amount aspirin.

Abstract
Due to food complexity and the low amount at which contaminants are usually present in food, their analytical determination can be particularly challenging. Conventional sample preparation methods making use of large solvent volumes and involving intensive sample manipulation can lead to sample contamination or losses of analytes. To overcome the disadvantages of conventional sample preparation, many researchers put their efforts toward the development of rapid and environmental-friendly methods, minimizing solvent consumption. In this context, microwave-assisted-extraction (MAE) has obtained, over the last years, increasing attention from analytical chemists and it has been successfully utilized for the extraction of various contaminants from different foods. In the first part of this review, an updated overview of the microwave-based extraction technique used for rapid and efficient extraction of organic contaminants from food is given. The principle of the technique, a description of available instrumentation, optimization of parameters affecting the extraction yield, as well as integrated techniques for further purification/enrichment prior to the analytical determination, are illustrated. In the second part of the review, the latest applications concerning the use of microwave energy for the determination of hydrocarbon contaminants-namely polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) and mineral oil hydrocarbons (MOH)-are reported and critically overviewed and future trends are delineated.

Abstract
A simple microextraction method, magnetic stirring assisted demulsification dispersive liquid–liquid microextraction, for preconcentration of five polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (fluorene, phenanthrene, anthracene, fluoranthrene, and pyrene) was investigated prior to analysis by high performance liquid chromatography. In this method, a mixture of extraction solvent and disperser solvent was rapidly injected into sample solution. The magnetic stirrer agitator aided the dispersion of the extraction solvent into the sample solution. After the formation of an emulsion, the demulsifier was added, resulting in the rapid separation of the mixture into two phases. No centrifugation step was required. Several parameters affecting the extraction efficiency of the proposed method were studied, including addition of salt, kind and volume of extraction solvent, volume of demulsifier solvent, and extraction times. Under the optimum conditions, high enrichment factor, low limit of detections (LODs) and good precision were gained. The proposed method was successfully applied to analysis of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon residues in grilled pork samples.
