Abstract
Rice bran oil is recommended by the World Health Organization as one of the three major healthy edible oils (along with corn and sesame oils), owing to its unique fatty acid composition and functional components. This study screened, organized, and analyzed a large number of studies retrieved through keyword searches, and investigated the nutritional value and safety of rice bran oil. It reviews the stability of raw rice bran materials and the extraction and refining process of rice bran oil and discusses food applications and sub-health regulations. Research has found that a delayed stabilization treatment of rice bran seriously affects the overall quality of rice bran oil. Compared with traditional solvent extraction, the new extraction technologies have improved the yield and nutritional value of rice bran oil, but most of them are still in the research stage. Owing to the lack of economical and applicable supporting production equipment, extraction is difficult to industrialize, which is a challenging research area for the future. Rice bran oil has stronger antioxidant stability than other edible oils and is more beneficial to human health; however, its application scope and consumption are limited owing to the product price and lack of understanding. Rice bran oil has significant antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, anti-cancer, hypoglycemic, lipid-lowering, and neuroprotective effects. Further exploratory research on other unknown functions is required to lay a scientific basis for the application and development of rice bran oil.

Abstract
The acidic lipase from Rasamsonia emersonii named LIPR has great potential for biodiesel synthesis due to its strong methanol tolerance. Nonetheless, the limited thermostability of LIPR and low expression level in Escherichia coli remain major obstacles to its use in biodiesel synthesis. To enhance the thermostability, the mutant LIPR harboring mutations A126C-P238C for the formation of a new disulfide bond and amino acid substitution D214L was obtained through rational design. To our delight, the thermostability of LIPR mutant was greatly improved. Moreover, a comprehensive optimization strategy, such as employing the Mss signal peptide, co-expressing the molecular chaperone protein disulfide isomerase (PDI), knocking out the vacuolar sorting receptor gene VPS10-01, and overexpressing the dihydroxyacetone synthase gene DAS2, was adopted to obtain the combination-optimized mutant Pichia pastoris strain GS54. Furthermore, the biodiesel synthetic capability with the mutant GS54-LIPR was verified and the production yield was 52.2 % after 24 h in a shake flask. Subsequently, a continuous flow system was adopted to increase the biodiesel yield to 73.6 % within 3 h, demonstrating its efficacy in enhancing enzyme biocatalysis. The engineered GS54-LIPR mutant lipase is an efficient and reusable biocatalyst for the sustained production of biodiesel in a continuous flow reaction.

Abstract
Rapeseed oil is a widely consumed edible oil that contains varieties of beneficial micronutrients such as tocopherols and phytosterols; however, the high acid value due to increased free fatty acid can imperil the oil quality and safety. This paper proposed the enzymatic deacidification for high-acid rapeseed oil and simultaneous production of functional diacylglycerols (DAGs) catalyzed by self-made immobilized lipase CALB@MCM-41-C8. The results indicate that the carrier of molecular sieve MCM-41 exhibited a sufficient surface area of 1439.9 m2/g and a proper pore size of 3.5 nm, promoting the immobilization of lipase CLAB. Under the optimal reaction conditions, the acid value of rapeseed oil was largely decreased from 15.3 mg KOH/g to 1.7 mg KOH/g within 3 h, while DAG content was increased from 1.2% to 40.2%. The antioxidant stability of rapeseed oil was also increased from 4.3 h to 7.6 h after enzymatic deacidification. Besides, the deacidified rapeseed oil exhibited fatty, bitter almond aromas, compared to the picked-vegetable, spicy, and pungent aromas for high-acid oil. Finally, the catalytic stability and applicability of CALB@MCM-41-C8 was validated, thus demonstrating the great potential of CALB@MCM-41-C8 in green refining of edible oils and sustainable synthesis of functional lipids.

Abstract
Globally, 50% of people consume rice (Oryza sativa), which is among the most abundant and extensively ingested cereal grains. Rice bran is a by-product of the cereal industry and is also considered a beneficial waste product of the rice processing industry. Rice bran oil (RBO) is created from rice bran (20-25 wt% in rice bran), which is the outermost layer of the rice kernel; has a lipid content of up to 25%; and is a considerable source of a plethora of bioactive components. The main components of RBO include high levels of fiber and phytochemicals, including vitamins, oryzanols, fatty acids, and phenolic compounds, which are beneficial to human health and well-being. This article summarizes the stabilization and extraction processes of rice bran oil from rice bran using different techniques (including solvent extraction, microwaving, ohmic heating, supercritical fluid extraction, and ultrasonication). Some studies have elaborated the various biological activities linked with RBO, such as antioxidant, anti-platelet, analgesic, anti-inflammatory, anti-thrombotic, anti-mutagenic, aphrodisiac, anti-depressant, anti-emetic, fibrinolytic, and cytotoxic activities. Due to the broad spectrum of biological activities and economic benefits of RBO, the current review article focuses on the extraction process of RBO, its bioactive components, and the potential health benefits of RBO. Furthermore, the limitations of existing studies are highlighted, and suggestions are provided for future applications of RBO as a functional food ingredient.

Abstract
Tandem reactions involve multi-step processes conducted in one pot, offering a cost-effective, environmentally friendly, and efficient approach to chemical transformations with high atom economy. The catalytic systems employed in tandem reactions are crucial for achieving desirable activity, selectivity, and stability. Researchers worldwide have extensively explored catalytic processes driven by various energy fields, such as electrocatalysis, thermocatalysis, and photocatalysis, aiming to facilitate multiple reactions and bond transformations. Continuous advancements have been made in reaction conditions, catalyst design, and preparation methods. This review provides a comprehensive overview of recent progress in tandem reactions, specifically focusing on electro-, thermo-, and photocatalysis, and categorizes them into catalysts, reactors, and fields based on their applications. Furthermore, the review highlights the significance of rational design in nanomaterial catalysts and the integration of multiple energy sources, emphasizing their potential to enhance selectivity, performance, and the development of combined catalysis.

Abstract
With the continuous technological innovation in the high-value utilization of rice bran byproducts, rice bran oil retains a higher concentration of beneficial components such as a well-balanced composition of fatty acids and abundant phytosterols. This makes it a highly nutritious and healthy vegetable oil. This review provides an overview of the advancements made in separating, purifying, and processing phytosterols in rice bran oil. The review also introduces techniques for assessing the stability of rice bran oil. Moreover, the review emphasizes the nutritional value of phytosterols found in rice bran oil, highlighting their various health benefits, including their anticancer, anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic, antibacterial, cholesterol-lowering, skin-protective, anti-obesity, anti-diabetic, neuroprotective, gastroprotective, and immune-enhancing effects. Attaining a comprehensive understanding of the research progress made in phytosterols derived from rice bran oil can offer valuable guidance for the efficient utilization of rice bran.

Abstract
Enzymatic hydrolysis is a promising approach for protein and food processing. However, the efficiency of this approach is constrained by the self-hydrolysis, self-agglomeration of free enzymes and the limited applicability resulted from enzymes' selectivityt. Here, novel organic-inorganic hybrid nanoflowers (AY-10@AXH-HNFs) were prepared by coordinating Cu2+ with both endopeptidase of PROTIN SD-AY10 and exopeptidase of Prote AXH. The results indicate that the AY-10@AXH-HNFs exhibited 4.1 and 9.6 times higher catalytic activity than free Prote AXH and PROTIN SD-AY10, respectively, for the enzymatic hydrolysis of N-benzoyl-L-arginine ethyl ester (BAEE). The kinetic parameters of Km, Vmax and Kcat/Km by AY-10@AXH-HNFs were determined to be 0.6 mg/mL, 6.8 mL·min/mg and 6.1 mL/(min·mg), respectively, surpassing the values obtained from free endopeptidase and exopeptidase. Furthermore, the ability of AY-10@AXH-HNFs to retain 41 % of their initial catalytic activity after undergoing 5 cycles of repeated use confirmed their stability and reusability. This study introduces a novel approach of co-immobilizing endopeptidase and exopeptidase on nanoflowers, resulting in significantly enhanced stability and reusability of the protease in catalytic applications.

Abstract
A novel and effective approach based on the two-step ethanolysis-esterification strategy was proposed for the controllable and simultaneous preparation of 1-oleoyl-2-palmitoyl-3-linoleoylglycerol (OPL), 1,3-dioleoyl-2-palmitoyl-glycerol (OPO) and 1,3-dilinoleoyl-2-palmitoyl-glycerol (LPL) with adjustable proportions. Enzymatic ethanolysis of fractionated palm stearin was carried out to yield 2-monopalmitoylglycerol (79.4 ± 0.6 %) with over 91.0 % purity at the optimal conditions. The immobilized Candida sp. lipase (CSL) on octyl-functionalized ordered mesoporous silica (OMS-C8) was applied to re-esterify 2-monopalmitoylglycerol with oleic acid and linoleic acid for the simultaneous production of OPL, OPO, and LPL. The total content in the final products was 81.5 %, with 91.3 % of palmitic acid (PA) content at the sn-2 position. Besides, OPL/OPO/LPL was conveniently prepared with suitable proportions for worldwide infants by adjusting the ratio of acyl donors. This paper provides a novel and effective two-step ethanolysis-esterification strategy for the development of human milk fat substitutes (HMFS).
