Abstract
Nowadays, a wide variety of labels of items are widely available, and human consumption is increasingly tailored to meet their individual needs. So, many businesses are starting to focus on improving the functionality of modern packaging. Sensorial paradigms and emotional reactions could change during the user-product interaction lifecycle. The designer's emotional imagination and past experiences are the backbone of conventional product package design, which has limitations due to unmanageable content and an absence of professional advice-the majority of previous research on emotional image analysis aimed to forecast the most common viewer emotions. Since the feelings a picture evokes are quite individual and vary from viewer to viewer, this overarching feeling isn't always enough for practical uses. The research presented an approach to packaging design evaluation based on image emotion perception computing (PDE-IEPC), which combines emotion perception technology with a deep LSTM (Long short-term model), resulting in an immersive and dynamic experience for the human senses. Emotion Perception Computing's Dynamic Multi-task Hypergraph Learning (DMHL) approach considers graphical data, social context, spatial evolution, and location, among other criteria, to evaluate packaging designs efficiently based on their emotional impact. Image-Emotion-Social-Net is a large dataset used to evaluate multidimensional and categorical attitude representation. The dataset is sourced from Flickr and contains over 1 million images presented by over 9000 users. Personalized emotion categorization is an area where research on this dataset shows that the suggested strategy outperforms many modern techniques. The experimental results show that the proposed method achieves a high packaging design quality rate of 94.1 %, a performance success rate of 97.5 %, and a mean square error rate of 2 % compared to other existing methods.

Abstract
A challenge in social marketing studies is the cognitive biases in consumers' conscious and self-reported responses. To help address this concern, biometric techniques have been developed to obtain data from consumers' implicit and non-verbal responses. A systematic literature review was conducted to explore biometric applications' role in agri-food marketing to provide an integrated overview of this topic. A total of 55 original research articles and four review articles were identified, classified, and reviewed. It was found that there is a steady growth in the number of studies applying biometric approaches, with eye-tracking being the dominant method used to investigate consumers' perceptions in the last decade. Most of the studies reviewed were conducted in Europe or the USA. Other biometric techniques used included facial expressions, heart rate, body temperature, and skin conductance. A wide range of scenarios concerning consumers' purchase and consumption behaviour for agri-food products have been investigated using biometric-based techniques, indicating their broad applicability. Our findings suggest that biometric techniques are expanding for researchers in agri-food marketing, benefiting both academia and industry.

Abstract
To promote a circular economy, the use of agricultural by-products as food packaging material has steadily increased. However, designing food packaging films that meet consumers' preferences and requirements is still a challenge. In this work, cellulose extracted from coffee silverskin (a by-product of coffee roasting) and chitosan were combined with different natural pigments (curcumin, phycocyanin, and lycopene) to generate a variety of composite films with different colors for food packaging. The physicochemical and sensory properties of the films were evaluated. The cellulose/chitosan film showed favorable mechanical properties and water sensitivity. Addition of natural pigments resulted in different film colors, and significantly affected the optical properties and improved the UV-barrier, swelling degree, and water vapor permeability (WVP), but there were also slight decreases in the mechanical properties. The various colored films can influence the perceived features and evoke different emotions from consumers, resulting in films receiving different attraction and liking scores. This work provides a comprehensive evaluation strategy for coffee silverskin cellulose-based composite films with incorporated pigments, and a new perspective on the consideration of the hedonic ratings of consumers regarding bio-based films when designing food packaging.

Abstract
Photooxidation has long been affecting nutrient and sensory quality of fluid milk. Light oxidation starts from the activation of photosensitive compounds, followed by generation of singlet oxygen that reacts with vitamins, proteins, and lipids in milk. It is hypothesized that wavelength-tailored light schemes possessing spectral properties capable of avoiding excitation maxima of common photosensitizers in milk could slow the chemical degradation of light-exposed milk and thus preserve consumer acceptability. A series of 6 consumer tests with sample sizes from 95 to 119 participants tested hedonic responses to fluid milk samples exposed to light of varying wavelength spectra. For milk in clear plastic bottles (polyethylene terephthalate or high-density polyethylene), consumer panels generally liked milk exposed to light-emitting diodes eliminating wavelengths below 520 or 560 nm more than standard white light, or those eliminating other wavelength bands. This higher degree of liking coincided with panelists citing fewer off-flavors or aromas from these samples. Taken together, these observations suggest such light schemes can protect milk from light damage to some extent. Wavelength-tailored light schemes used in this study did not offer effective protection for milk in glass bottles. Dissolved oxygen, color, riboflavin loss, and hexanal content were instrumentally evaluated, but results failed to indicate significant signatures of light damage in milk compared with sensory measures. The appearance of milk bottles illuminated by the slightly greenish or yellowish light were less liked by consumers, suggesting further efforts on consumer education may be necessary if these light schemes were to be installed in retail dairy coolers.

Abstract
The dairy market is one of the most important sectors worldwide, and milk packaging contributes to over one-third of the global dairy packaging demand. The end of life of the disposable packages is a critical stage of their life cycle, as demonstrated by the fact that disposable bottles are one of the litter items that are most found on beach shores. The aim of this paper is to analyse the performance of bioplastic bottles compared to other alternatives currently in use in the milk packaging sector, using the life cycle assessment (LCA) methodology. Bio-compostable plastic can be a powerful means to create a circular economy for disposable items. A PLA-based bottle is compared to a PET bottle, a HDPE bottle, a multilayer carton, and a glass bottle. In the analysis, also secondary and tertiary packaging is included. The functional unit chosen is "the packaging needed to contain 1 L of ESL milk and to guarantee a shelf life of 30 days". Two sensitivity analyses are also performed in order to assess the influence of the end-of-life stage on the total impact. The results show that, in accordance with the assumptions of an ideal scenario, bioplastic system has a better performance than fossil-based systems and multilayer carton in the categories of climate change, ozone depletion, human toxicity, freshwater eutrophication, particular matter, and land use. The recycling scenario strongly changes the impact of the glass packaging system in the considered categories.

Abstract
This study sought to challenge prevalent accounts of emotional eating by exploring the effects of situation-dependent emotions on consumers’ food craving. Four specific game situations in the context of spectator sports, each corresponding to the four types of emotional coping (outcome-desire conflict, avoidance, fulfillment, and pursuit), were identified as follows: decisive victories, decisive losses, close victories, and close losses. By employing laboratory-based virtual reality spectatorship, Study 1 tested the causal effects of happiness (fulfillment), anger (conflict), sadness (conflict), fear (avoidance), and hope (pursuit) on food craving. Study 2 further designed fans’ previous association between emotions and eating as a moderating mechanism in the context of online sport viewership. The results of the two experiments supported the three theoretical principles of eating behavior, including the “food as fuel” principle of anger, the hedonic eating principle of happiness, and the self-regulation principle of hope. However, the results rejected the escape awareness principle of sadness and fear. The study concludes with a discussion of context-dependent emotional positioning and intervention strategies for marketers and policy makers.
