Abstract
In this work we report the synthesis of five new nickel(II) complexes all coordinated to the tripodal ligand tris(1-ethyl-4- i Pr-imidazolyl)phosphine (TlEt4iPrIP). They are [Ni(T1Et4iPrIP)(CH3CN)2(OTf)](OTf) (1), [Ni(T1Et4iPrIP)(OTf)2] (2), [Ni(T1Et4iPrIP)(H2O)(OTf)](OTf) (3), [Ni(T1Et4iPrIP)Cl](OTf) (4), and [Ni(T1Et4iPrIP)Cl2] (5). The complexes serve as bioinorganic structural model complexes for histidine-coordinated nickel proteins. The X-ray structures have been determine for all complexes which feature coordination numbers 4-6. We investigated the spectroscopic interconversions for these compound in dichloromethane solution and demonstrate interconversion between 1-3 and conversion of 2 to 4. Complex 5 can be spectroscopically converted to the cation of 4 by dissolving it in dichloromethane. Fits of variable temperature magnetic susceptibility data yielded the following parameters: g = 1.944, D = -0.327 cm-1, E/D = 3.706 for 1; g = 2.280, D = -0.365 cm-1, E/D = 22.178 for 2; g = 2.000, D = -7.402 cm-1, E/D = -0.272 for 3; g = 2.176, D = -0.128 cm-1, E/D = -0.783 for 4; g = 2.258, D = 14.288 cm-1, E/D = 0.095 for 5. DFT structure optimizations afforded HOMO and LUMO energies indicating that complex 1 is the most stable.

Abstract
Four novel complexes [Co(H2O)4(sul)2] 1, [Co(2-ampy)2(sul)2] 2, [Co(H2O)2(1,10-phen) (sul)2] 3 and [Co(2,9-dimephen)(sul)2] 4 (sul = sulindac, 2-ampy = 2-amino pyridine, 1,10-phen = 1,10-phenanthroline and 2,9-dimeph = 2,9-dimethyl-1,10-phenanthroline) were prepared and characterized by IR, UV-Visible spectroscopy and magnetic properties. The crystal structures of complexes 1 and 4 were determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. In-vitro anti-bacterial activity for the prepared complexes against Gram-positive (Staphylococcus epidermidis, Staphylococcus aureus) and Gram-negative (Bordetella, Escherichia coli) bacteria and Yeast species (Saccharomyces and Candida) were performed using agar well-diffusion method. Only complex 4 showed reasonable activity against yeast. All compounds showed more anti-bacterial activity against Gram-positive bacteria than Gram-negative. Graphical abstract This work reports synthesis, crystallographic, spectroscopic studies and biological activity of new cobalt(II) complexes with bioactive mixed sulindac and nitrogen-donor ligands. The crystal structures of complexes 1 and 4 were determined using single-crystal X-ray diffraction. In-vitro anti-bacterial activity of the prepared complexes and their parent ligands were investigated against different Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria using agar diffusion method.

Abstract
Due to its amphoteric nature the imidazole ring can function as selective and effective anion and/or cation and even neutral organic molecules receptor system. As a result, the design of new multichannel imidazole-based receptors capable of recognizing different types of analytes is strongly demanded. This review summarizes the most recent and relevant advances in this area.

Abstract
? novel manganese(II) coordination polymer, catena-(2- methylimidazolium
bis(?2-chloro)-aqua-chloromanganese(II)), {(C4H7N2)[MnCl3(H2O)]}n, was
synthesized, structurally characterized by FTIR spectroscopy and confirmed by
single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. Thermogravimetric analysis and EPR
spectroscopy of the compound were also performed. The colourless crystals of
the complex were monoclinic, space group P21/c, with the cell parameters a =
11.298(2) ?, b = 7.2485(14) ?, c = 14.709(5) ?, ? = 128.861(18)?, V =
938.0(5) ?3, Z = 4 and R1 = 0.03. The title compound consisted of
onedimensional infinite anionic chains [MnCl3(H2O)]n and isolated 2-
methylimidazolium cations. The Mn(II) atom was octahedrally coordinated to
four bridging chloride anions [Mn-Cl = 2.5109(6) - 2.5688(7) ?], one terminal
chloride anion [Mn-Cl = 2.5068(11) ?] and a H2O molecule [Mn-O = 2.2351(17)
?]. A three-dimensional layer structure was constructed via hydrogen bonds
and by weak ?-? stacking interactions. A four-step thermal decomposition
occurred in the temperature range 25-900?C under nitrogen.
