Abstract
Dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs) are an excellent alternative solar cell technology that is cost-effective and environmentally friendly. The geometry, reactivity descriptors, light-harvesting efficiency, molecular radii, diffusion coefficient, and excited oxidation state potential of the proposed complex were investigated. The calculations in this study were performed using DFT/TDDFT method with B3LYP functional employed on the Gaussian 09 software package. The calculations were used the 6-311 + + G(d, p) basis set for the C, H, N, O, Cl atoms and the LANL2DZ basis set for the Re atom, with the B3LYP functional.. The balance of hole and electron in this complex has increased the efficiency and lifetime of DSSCs for photovoltaic cell applications. The investigated compound shows that the addition of the TPA substituent marginally changes the geometric structures of the 2, 2'-bipyridine ligand in the T1 state. As EDsubstituents were added to the compound, the energy gap widened and moved from ELUMO (- 2.904 eV) (substituted TPA) to ELUMO (- 3.122 eV) (unsubstituted). In the studying of solvent affects; when the polarity of the solvent decreases, red shifts appears in the lowest energy an absorption and emission band. Good light-harvesting efficiency, molecular radii, diffusion coefficient, excited state oxidation potential, emission quantum yield, and DSSC reorganization energy, the complex is well suited for use as an emitter in dye-sensitized solar cells. Among the investigated complexes mentioned in literature, the proposed complex was a suitable candidate for phosphorescent DSSC.

A neutral mononuclear rhenium(I) complex with a rare in situ-generated triazolyl ligand for the luminescence "turn-on" detection of histidine. Dalton Trans 2023; 52:703-709. Abstract
A rare in situ-generated mononuclear rhenium complex [Re(bpt)(CO)3(NH3)] (1, bpt = 3,5-bis(2-pyridyl)-1,2,4-triazolate) can be used as a "turn-on" luminescent probe for selectively sensing L-histidine against other amino acids. Compound 1 was prepared by reacting Re2(CO)10, 2-cyanopyridine and hydrazine with an in situ formed bpt ligand through cyclization via C-N and N-N couplings with its single-side chelating mode arrayed with respect to the Re center. Compound 1 was highly stable and showed a green light MLCT emission in DMF solution at 507 nm upon excitation at 360 nm. Interestingly, the emission from 1 could be quenched by the addition of metal ions such as Ni2+ and Cu2+ but the emission efficiently recovered with the introduction of histidine. However, histidine could only be selectively detected when a combination of compound 1 and Ni2+ was used. Therefore, the luminescence response of the Ni2+-modified compound 1 could be utilized as a "turn-on" probe for the selective detection of histidine. This work provides a simple method for developing new sensing platforms of a discrete metal complex based on rare in situ generation.

. In complexes 1 and 2, the coordination geometry is a distorted tetrahedral environment around the zinc center and a distorted sixfold coordination geometry around the lead center, respectively. In complex 3 the central Cu(II) center is in a trigonal bipyramidal coordination geometry. The Cu(II) ion is surrounded by two bidentate 2-(2′-quinolyl)benzimidazole (BQ) ligands and one coordinated acetate molecule. One further acetate anion associated by a strong hydrogen bond with a molecule of acetic acid balances the charge of the compound.

Abstract
Cationic fac-[Re(CO)3(pz*H)(pypzH)]OTf (pz*H = pyrazole, pzH; 3,5-dimethylpyrazole, dmpzH; indazole, indzH; 3-(2-pyridyl)pyrazole, pypzH) were obtained from fac-[ReBr(CO)3(pypzH)] by halide abstraction with AgOTf and subsequent addition of the corresponding pyrazole. Successive deprotonation with Na2CO3 and NaOH gave neutral fac-[Re(CO)3(pz*H)(pypz)] and anionic Na{fac-[Re(CO)3(pz*)(pypz)]} complexes, respectively. Cationic fac-[Re(CO)3(pz*H)(pypzH)]OTf, neutral complexes fac-[Re(CO)3(pz*H)(pypz)], and fac-[Re(CO)3(pypz)2Na] were subjected to photophysical and electrochemical studies. They exhibit phosphorescent decays from a prevalently 3MLCT excited state with quantum yields (Φ) in the range between 0.03 and 0.58 and long lifetimes (τ from 220 to 869 ns). The electrochemical behavior in Ar atmosphere of cationic and neutral complexes indicates that the oxidation processes assigned to ReI → ReII occurs at lower potentials for the neutral complex compared to cationic complex. The reduction processes occur at the ligands and do not depend on the charge of the complexes. The electrochemical behavior in CO2 saturated media is consistent with CO2 electrocatalyzed reduction, where the values of the catalytic activity [icat(CO2)/icat(Ar)] ranged from 2.7 to 11.5 (compared to 8.1 for fac-[Re(CO)3Cl(bipy)] studied as a reference). Controlled potential electrolysis for the pyrazole cationic (3a) and neutral (4a) complexes after 1 h affords CO in faraday yields of 61 and 89%, respectively. These values are higher for indazole complexes and may be related to the acidity of the coordinated pyrazole.
