Abstract
Reaction of [VO(OR)3] (R = Et, nPr) with 2,2'-diphenylglycine afforded the alkoxide-bridged dimers {[VO(OR)(μ-OR)][Ph2C(NH2)(CO2)]}2, whereas use of benzilic acid, in the presence of alkali metals, afforded 16-membered metallocycles {V8(O)4M(OR)8[Ph2C(OH)(CO2)]12} (M = <1 Na, K). For the ring systems, magnetic susceptibility data is consistent with mixed-valence vanadium with an average oxidation state of 3.5. The dimer and ring systems are capable of the ring opening polymerisation (ROP) of ε-caprolactone under N2, air, or as melts affording mostly low to medium molecular weight cyclic and linear products.

Abstract
We report three niobium-based initiators for the catalytic ring-opening polymerization (ROP) of ε-caprolactone, exhibiting good activity and molecular weight control. In particular, we have prepared on the gram-scale and fully characterized a monometallic cationic alkoxo-Nb(V) ε-caprolactone adduct representing, to the best of our knowledge, an unprecedented example of a metal complex with an intact lactone monomer and a functional ROP-initiating group simultaneously coordinated at the metal center. At 80 °C, all three systems initiate the immortal solution-state ROP of ε-caprolactone via a coordination-insertion mechanism, which has been confirmed through experimental studies, and is supported by computational data. Natural bond orbital calculations further indicate that polymerization may necessitate isomerization about the metal center between the alkoxide chain and the coordinated monomer. The observations made in this work are expected to inform mechanistic understanding both of amine tris(phenolate)-supported metal alkoxide ROP initiators, including various highly stereoselective systems for the polymerization of lactides and of coordination-insertion-type ROP protocols more broadly.

Naturally Occurring Oxazole Structural Units as Ligands of Vanadium Catalysts for Ethylene-Norbornene (Co)polymerization. Catalysts 2021. Abstract
1,3-Oxazole and 4,5-dihydro-1,3-oxazole are common structural motifs in naturally occurring peptides. A series of vanadium complexes were synthesized using VCl3(THF)3 and methyl substituted (4,5-dihydro-1,3-oxazol-2-yl)-1,3-oxazoles as ligands and analyzed using NMR and MS methods. The complexes were found to be active catalysts both in ethylene polymerization and ethylene-norbornene copolymerization. The position of methyl substituent in the ligand has considerable impact on the performance of (co)polymerization reaction, as well as on the microstructure, and thus physical properties of the obtained copolymers.
