Abstract
This study aims to design an artificial metalloprotease based on a Zr-containing polyoxometalate Na8[Zr(W5O18)2] [Zr(W5)2] for the hydrolysis of ovalbumin (OVA) in the presence of different surfactants, which can be used in many areas of the biological and medical sciences, particularly for targeted proteolytic drug design. For this reason, parameters, including the free energy of binding, the chemical nature of amino acid residues, secondary structures, and electrostatic potentials, of Zr(W5)2-OVA and Zr(W5)2-OVA-surfactant were analyzed by molecular docking simulations. The investigations showed that the presence of surfactants decreases the binding affinity of Zr(W5)2 for OVA amino acids, and hydrogen bonds and van der Waals interactions are formed between Zr(W5)2 and OVA amino acids. Additionally, GROMACS further illustrated the significance of SDS and CTAB surfactants in influencing the conformational changes of the OVA that lead to selective protein hydrolysis. In agreement with molecular dynamics simulation results, the experimental analysis showed more protein hydrolysis for the Zr(W5)2-OVA-surfactant systems. For instance, circular dichroism spectroscopy indicated that Zr(W5)2-OVA-CTAB and Zr(W5)2-OVA-TX-100 were more hydrolytically efficient due to the increased level of β-structures rather than α-chains, which showed that surfactants can facilitate the accessibility of Zr(W5)2 to the cleavage sites by inducing partial unfolding of the OVA structure.

Abstract
Converting solar energy into storable hydrogen energy by employing green photocatalytic technology offers a reliable alternative for meeting the energy crisis. The polyoxometalates are a promising candidate for hydrogen production photocatalysts because of their unique electronic and structural properties and controllable design at the molecular level. Introducing noble metals was proven to be an effective method to greatly enhance the photocatalytic efficiency of polyoxometalates. Herein, two unprecedented compounds of hexameric Ru-POMs, Na4H10[As2RuIV2W11O18(OH)4(H2O)6{AsW8RuIVO31(OH)Cl}2(B-β-AsW9O33)4]·93H2O (1) and Na2H19[AsRuIII2W11O20(OH)2(H2O)6(RuIIICl3)(B-β-AsW9O33)6]·90H2O (2), were successfully self-assembled. The H2 evolution rates of 1 and 2 under optimal conditions were 3578.75 and 3027.69 μmol h-1 g-1 with TONs of 255 and 205, respectively. The stability of 1 was demonstrated by a series of characterizations. Besides, a possible photocatalytic mechanism was proposed.

Abstract
An organic-inorganic hybrid polyoxometalate Na5H5.68 [Na0.17Rh0.83III(C6H8N2)2Cl2]2(C8H8N2)2[As4W40O140Rh4IV(C6H4N2S)2]·nH2O (1) containing 5.66 Rh atoms is prepared; to our knowledge, it owns the largest number of Rh atoms in the Rh-POM family. Compound 1 demonstrates good catalytic performance in the reduction of nitrobenzene to aniline and the oxidation of aniline to azobenzene under mild conditions. Moreover, catalyst 1 exhibits high activity, excellent stability and recyclability.

Abstract
In organic systems, dynamic covalent chemistry provides an adaptive approach (i.e., "covalent dynamics") where thermodynamic equilibria are used to tailor structural and electronic changes in molecular assemblies. The covalent dynamics finds utility in the design of novel self-healing materials, sensors, and actuators. Herein, using density functional theory (DFT) we explore the structural, electronic and transport properties of the Pt-based polyoxometalate (POM) [PtIII 12O8(SO4)12]4- and its derivatives. The latter POM has six redox responsive {O-Pt-Pt-O} moieties and prospects for storage of up to twelve electrons, thus exemplifying how dynamic covalent chemistry may manifest itself in fully inorganic systems. Simulations of the Au/POM/Au junction show that the electron conduction strongly depends on the redox of the POM but more weakly on its rotations with respect to the Au surface. Moreover, the POM shows promising spin-polarized current behaviour, which can be modulated using bias and gate voltages.
