Synthesis of promising nanocomposites from an antitumer and biologically active heterocyclic compound uploaded by clay and chitosan polymers

Favorable Heteroaromatic Thiazole-Based Polyurea Derivatives as Interesting Biologically Active Products

This research sought to synthesize a new set of heteroaromatic thiazole-based polyurea derivatives with sulfur links in the polymers' main chains, which were denoted by the acronyms PU_1-5. Using pyridine as a solvent, a diphenylsulfide-based aminothiazole monomer (M2) was polymerized via solution polycondensation with varied aromatic, aliphatic, and cyclic diisocyanates. Typical characterization methods were used to confirm the structures of the premonomer, monomer, and fully generated polymers. The XRD results revealed that aromatic-based polymers had higher crystallinity than aliphatic and cyclic derivatives. SEM was used to visualize the surfaces of PU₁, PU₄, and PU₅, revealing spongy and porous shapes, shapes resembling wooden planks and sticks, and shapes resembling coral reefs with floral shapes at various magnifications. The polymers demonstrated thermal stability. The numerical results for PDTmax are listed in the following order, ranked from lowest to highest: PU₁ < PU₂ < PU₃ < PU₅ < PU₄. The FDT values for the aliphatic-based derivatives (PU₄ and PU₅) were lower than those for the aromatic-based ones (616, 655, and 665 °C). PU₃ showed the greatest inhibitory impact against the bacteria and fungi under investigation. In addition, PU₄ and PU₅ demonstrated antifungal activities that, in contrast with the other products, were on the lower end of the spectrum. Furthermore, the intended polymers were also tested for the presence of the proteins 1KNZ, 1JIJ, and 1IYL, which are frequently utilized as model organisms for E. coli (Gram-negative bacteria), S. aureus (Gram-positive bacteria), and C. albicans (fungal pathogens). This study's findings are consistent with the outcomes of the subjective screening.

Preparation, Characterization of New Antimicrobial Antitumor Hybrid Semi-Organic Single Crystals of Proline Amino Acid Doped by Silver Nanoparticles

Proline is water soluble amino acid extensively used in drug delivery systems. Compounds of cobalt (Co) transition metal have potent antimicrobial and anticancer activities. However, a drug delivery system combining proline cobalt is not reported yet. For the first time, new hybrid semi-organic single crystals of proline cobalt chloride (PCC) are prepared. The novelty of the article is also that single crystal proline cobalt chloride showed potent antimicrobial and antitumor activity. Doping of PCC by Ag⁰NPs significantly increased these biological activities. The anisotropic magnetic properties of single crystals can mitigate the cytotoxicity of Ag⁰NPs on normal cells. Silver nanoparticles (Ag⁰NPs) improved the crystal habits and physicochemical properties. Ag⁰NPs showed the best performance, paramagnetic materials n-type semiconductors due to delocalized excess electrons of Ag⁰NPs incorporated in the crystal lattice interstitially. Crystals have high absorptivity for UV-radiation electromagnetic radiation. Ag⁰NPs enhanced AC electrical conductivity up to 2.3 × 10⁴ Ω cm^-1 due to high electron density. Proline doped crystals are obtained in good purity as triclinic unit cell with having anisotropic magnetism. PCCAg⁰NPs crystal exhibited: high antimicrobial activities to various bacterial and fungal species, inhibition zone (mm): 21, 25, 24, 26, 30, 28, 12, and 46 for S. aureus, E. faecalis, S. typhi, E. coli, P. aerugino, K. pneumoniae, A. braselienses, and C. albicans, respectively, in comparison to ciprofloxacin antibiotic (23, 0, 26, 26, 25, 0, 0, 0) for the same tested species, respectively; higher cytotoxicity against breast cancer cells (IC₅₀ 22.1 μM) than the reference drug cisplatin (IC₅₀ 11.7 μM); and lower cytotoxicity to normal healthy lung cells MRC-5, (IC₅₀ 145.5 μM) than cisplatin (IC₅₀ 30.2 μM). Hence, this crystal is a candidate for chemotherapy of breast cancer.

Enhanced antifungal and antioxidant activities of new chitosan derivatives modified with Schiff base bearing benzenoid/heterocyclic moieties

In this work, chitosan derivatives modified with Schiff base bearing benzenoid/heterocyclic moieties were successfully prepared via amidation reaction. Specific structural characterization was implemented using FTIR and ¹H NMR, and the DS of chitosan derivatives were quantitatively calculated by ratio of hydrogen proton integral. Meanwhile, the antifungal activity against two common plant pathogenic fungi (Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. cubense and Glomerella cingulata) was assayed in vitro by hyphal measurement, and data proved that the introduction of functional groups including benzene/heterocyclic compounds and Schiff base groups greatly enhanced the antifungal activity. Besides, the antioxidant efficiency was investigated in vitro, and all chitosan derivatives exhibited significantly increased antioxidant activity. Specially, the scavenging effect of 2SATCS was 96.62% at 1.6 mg/mL, which was close to the positive control VC (98.84%). These results indicated that chitosan derivatives with enhanced antifungal and antioxidant activities could serve as potential biomaterial for antifungal and antioxidant applications.

The role of natural biological macromolecules: Deoxyribonucleic and ribonucleic acids in the formulation of new stable charge transfer complexes of thiophene Schiff bases for various life applications

The ecofriendly cellulose and gelatin provided sustainable and abundant sugars: d-ribofuranose, and 2-Deoxy-ribofuranose (starting reactants for preparative synthetic green chemistry pathways of charge transfer complexes. The natural available sugars d-ribofuranose, and 2-Deoxy-ribofuranose were obtained from facile hydrolysis of cellulose and gelatin natural macromolecules. Successive, low cost and facile alkaline- and acid hydrolysis of Deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA, from gelatin animal source) and ribonucleic acid (RNA, from cellulose plant source) yield the simple sugars: d-ribofuranose and 2-Deoxy-ribofuranose. Eight optically and biologically active charge transfer complexes were prepared from the reaction of the above sugars efficiently intercalated with two new prepared thiophene Schiff Lewis (electron donors) bases: 2-((2Hydroxybenzylidene) amino)-4, 5, 6, 7-tetrahydrobenzo [b] thiophene-3-carbonitrile (D1, 2-((Furan-2ylmethylene) amino) 4,5,6,7 tetrahydrobenzo [b] thiophene-3-carbonitrile (D2). The chemical structures of these prepared Schiff bases were confirmed using the mass spectra. The successful intercalation of the sugar units with the Lewis bases was ascertained using powder x ray diffraction. The molecular structures of the reaction products were proposed based on FTIR, ¹H NMR. The optical activity of charge transfer complexes were confirmed using UV-Vis. Absorption spectroscopy. The surface morphology, microstructures, and particle size of the donors and charge transfer complexes were determined using scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The Lewis bases (D1) and (D2) showed no antimicrobial activity, while their charge transfer complexes showed good antimicrobial activity, suggesting their pharmaceutical and medicinal applications due to the potent biological activity against wide spread microbial microorganisms of Gram positive and Gram positive bacteria as well as some fungal species.

A facile new modified method for the preparation of a new cerium-doped lanthanium cuperate perovskite energy storage system using nanotechnology

Hybrid Systems Based on Talc and Chitosan for Controlled Drug Release

Inorganic matrices and biopolymers have been widely used in pharmaceutical fields. They show properties such as biocompatibility, incorporation capacity, and controlled drug release, which can become more attractive if they are combined to form hybrid materials. This work proposes the synthesis of new drug delivery systems (DDS) based on magnesium phyllosilicate (Talc) obtained by the sol–gel route method, the biopolymer chitosan (Ch), and the inorganic-organic hybrid formed between this matrix (Talc + Ch), obtained using glutaraldehyde as a crosslink agent, and to study their incorporation/release capacity of amiloride as a model drug. The systems were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), Therma analysis TG/DTG, and Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) that supported the DDS’s formation. The hybrid showed a better drug incorporation capacity compared to the precursors, with a loading of 55.74, 49.53, and 4.71 mg g⁻¹ for Talc + Ch, Talc, and Ch, respectively. The release assays were performed on a Hanson Research SR-8 Plus dissolver using apparatus I (basket), set to guarantee the sink conditions. The in vitro release tests showed a prolongation of the release rates of this drug for at least 4 h. This result proposes that the systems implies the slow and gradual release of the active substance, favoring the maintenance of the plasma concentration within a therapeutic window.
