Abstract
In Nigeria, the predictors of quality of life among children exposed to sexual abuse are unknown. Addressing this gap may strengthen the capacity of the health system to care for this population. Thus, this cross-sectional study selected 545 (mean age = 14.4 ± 1.4 years) Nigerian children exposed to sexual abuse. Results show that self-compassion, resilience, and meaning in life jointly predicted quality of life and explained 39% variance. The independent prediction of each predictor variable shows that self-compassion, resilience, and meaning in life have significant independent predictions, with self-compassion showing the greatest independent prediction, followed by resilience and meaning in life. Sex, age, and how long ago respondents were exposed to sexual abuse jointly predicted quality of life and explained 6% variance. However, how long ago respondents were exposed to sexual abuse shows a significant independent prediction. Results offer clinical implications that may strengthen the capacity of the health system to care for this population.

Abstract
Bedside dysphagia assessment protocols are not well developed in acute pediatric stroke unlike adults. The objective of this study was to identify items deemed relevant and feasible by expert consensus to inform the development of a bedside dysphagia screening tool for acute pediatric stroke. A two-phase study was conducted: (1) literature review and expert consultation generated a comprehensive list of dysphagia assessment items; (2) items were formatted in an online survey asking respondents opinion of relevance to acute pediatric stroke and feasibility for bedside administration by a trained health professional. The Dillman Tailored Design approach optimized response rate. Respondents were identified using the snowball method. Speech-language pathologists with > 2 years in pediatric dysphagia were invited to complete the survey. Demographic and practice variables were compared using univariate statistics. Item relevance and feasibility were made using binary or ordinal responses, combined to derive item-content validity indices (I-CVI) to guide item reduction. Items with I-CVI > 0.78 (excellent content validity) were moved forward to tool development. Of the 71 invited respondents, 57(80.3%) responded, of which 34(59.6%) were from North America. Sixty-one items were generated of which 4(6.6%) items were rated 'to keep'. These were face symmetry (I-CVI:0.89), salivary control (I-CVI:0.95), alertness (I-CVI:0.89) and choking (I-CVI:0.84). Of all respondents, 31(54.4%) endorsed swallowing trials, of which 25(80.6%) endorsed thin liquid by teaspoon (n = 17, 68%) or open cup (n = 20, 80%). We identified candidate items for bedside dysphagia screening with excellent content validity for acute pediatric stroke patients. Next steps include assessment of the psychometric value of each item in identifying dysphagia in children in the acute stage of recovery from stroke.

Abstract
PURPOSE This study aimed to understand the difference in psychosocial adaptation among childhood cancer survivors, their healthy siblings and peers, and the factors affecting the psychosocial adaptation of these cancer survivors. DESIGN AND METHODS A total of 222 children (ages 8-17) including childhood cancer survivors, their siblings, and healthy peers participated in this cross-sectional study. All the children completed the anxiety and quality of life scales for their age groups. RESULTS Anxiety levels and quality of life were similar among the childhood cancer survivors, their siblings, and their peers. The anxiety of elementary school-age survivors of acute leukemia was higher than that of those with solid tumors. Elementary school-age survivors who completed three or more years of treatment had lower anxiety than those who completed treatment within the three years. For adolescent survivors, the higher their body mass index, the higher their anxiety, which was associated with low quality of life. Those diagnosed with anxiety and at an older age had lower quality of life. CONCLUSIONS Although there were no differences in survivors' psychosocial adaptation compared to their siblings and healthy peers, more than half of these adolescents had moderate to severe anxiety. Future study may need to explore the causes of their anxiety. PRACTICE IMPLICATIONS During the follow-ups of the childhood cancer survivors, age-specific adaptive strategies can be discussed to reduce their anxiety and improve their quality of life.

Abstract
Purpose
“Psychosocial health” is a new term to comprehend the already established factors involved in mental health and psychological well-being. The term has not been specifically defined and explained within the framework of psychology.
Design/methodology/approach
The study proposed and validated a new model of psychosocial health. Principal component analysis, exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis were conducted by involving a total of 4,086 participants.
Findings
Psychosocial health was interpreted as the “sexual, emotional, social, environmental, cognitive, religious, moral and spiritual satisfaction” of a person. The proposed model of psychosocial health was statistically validated. The additional findings revealed significantly higher levels of psychosocial health in women and significant inverse correlations between psychosocial health and age.
Originality/value
The current paper provided a comprehensive picture of psychosocial health from a psychological perspective and presented a statistically reliable tool for measuring psychosocial health.

Abstract
Background/Objective: Social vulnerability refers to difficulties detecting potentially harmful interpersonal situations. Although it is an important predictor of psychosocial and interpersonal difficulties in clinical samples, research investigating this construct is scarce. We aimed to (a) develop a brief measure for assessing social vulnerability in typically developing children, the Children's Social Vulnerability Questionnaire (CSVQ) (b) examine the relationship between social vulnerability and psychosocial functioning, (c) explore age-related differences, and (d) explore levels of social vulnerability amongst children with clinical needs. Method: Data were gathered on two samples. Participants were parents (n = 790) of elementary school-aged children (3-12 years), and parents and teachers of a second sample (n = 96). Results: Results provide strong reliability and validity evidence. Social vulnerability showed moderate relationships with emotional and behavioural problems, and only a weak relationship with social skills. Parents perceived greater social vulnerability in younger than older children, and amongst children with clinical needs. Parents' and teachers' scores were correlated. Conclusions: Social vulnerability is not simply a lack of social skill; rather, it is a valuable construct for understanding psychosocial risk, especially for young and clinical samples of children.
