Abstract
BACKGROUND Anthropometry is a universally applicable, non-expensive, rapid and noninvasive technique used to evaluate and reflect the nutritional status of an individual. Anthropometric measurements of newborns reflect their general health, nutritional status and future survival by tracking trends in growth and development over time. It has also considerable significance in terms of determining the risk of death and extra uterine complications. Most previously conducted studies assessing newborn anthropometry had used birth weight as the sole parameter. But it is apparent that other anthropometric measurements, such as length and head circumference, are also important in predicting short-term and long-term outcomes. So this study assesses anthropometric measurements of singleton live full-term newborns at University of Gondar comprehensive specialised hospital, Ethiopia. MATERIAL AND METHODS Hospital-based cross-sectional study was conducted among 333 newborn from 5 June to 11 July 2022, in the maternity and neonatal ward of University of Gondar comprehensive specialised hospital. A systematic random sampling technique was employed to select the study participants. The Kobo toolbox software platform was used for data collection, and STATA software version 16 was used for analysis. RESULTS The mean birth weight, length and head circumference of the newborns in the current study were 2977 grams (95% CI: 2935.7, 3018.3), 47.05 centimeters (95% CI: 46.72-47.37) and 34.7 centimeters (95% CI: 34.6, 34.88), respectively. The prevalence of SGA (< 10th percentile) and LGA (> 90th percentile) was 20.12% and 6.01%, respectively. Independent samples t-test was done to see the association of newborn sex with anthropometric indices, and the result showed that the difference was statistically insignificant in all of anthropometric parameters. CONCLUSION This study of normal reference values will provide basic step for future standardisation of Ethiopian term newborns anthropometric parameters to be used for accurate assessment of newborns.

Research progress of health care in Yemeni children during the war: review. Prim Health Care Res Dev 2022; 23:e55. Abstract
BACKGROUND Yemen crisis, which has been going on for more than six years, represents one of the most gruesome human plights in the modern history, especially children. OBJECTIVES This research aimed to present a comprehensive view of Yemeni children's studies during the ongoing war period, to come up with a comprehensive base that concerns humanitarians, researchers, decision-makers, and general public at large about the reality of the predicament of Yemeni child. METHOD We searched databases and identified 373 articles, of which 68 were included in this review. Review of literature between 2014 and 2020 is taken from academic sources, multilateral organizations, donors, and governmental and non-governmental organizations. The data are analyzed by date and governorates. RESULTS We chose 68 articles and divided them according to the diseases and health conditions as follows: infectious diseases (15 studies), non-infectious diseases (10 studies), blood-related diseases (7 studies), oral and dental problems (12 studies), accidents and injuries (2 studies), health system (16 studies), family and community (6 studies). Moreover, the studies were divided geographically as follows: 7 studies that were almost comprehensive for all governorates; additional studies were conducted for Amanat Al Asimah (21 studies), Taiz (12 studies), Aden and Al Hudaydah (7 studies for each), Dhamar and Ibb (6 studies for each), Abyan and Lahij (2 study for each). As for Al Bayda, Marib, Sana'a, and Socotra, each of them had one study. CONCLUSION Our assessment revealed that the ongoing Yemen crisis is underrated and largely neglected. The studies conducted so far do match the ground reality both in terms of inclusiveness and numbers.

Abstract
This study aimed to derive a maternal dietary pattern to explain the variation in B vitamins during pregnancy and to investigate this pattern in relation to birth outcomes. A total of 7347 women who gave birth to live newborns less than one year were included. Their dietary pattern during pregnancy was derived using the reduced-rank regression method with six B vitamins as response variables. Associations between dietary pattern score and birth weight, gestational age at delivery, birth weight Z score, low birth weight, preterm, and small-for-gestational-age (SGA) were estimated using generalised linear mixed models. We identified a high B-vitamin dietary pattern characterised by high intakes of animal foods, vegetables, fungi and algae, legumes, and low intakes of oils and cereals. Women in the highest quartile of this pattern score had newborns with a 44.5 g (95% CI: 13.8, 75.2 g) higher birth weight, 0.101 (95% CI: 0.029, 0.172) higher birth weight Z score, and 27.2% (OR: 0.728; 95% CI: 0.582, 0.910) lower risk of SGA than those in the lowest quartile. Our study suggested that adherence to the high B-vitamin dietary pattern during pregnancy was associated with a higher birth weight and a lower risk of SGA.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Wars do not only affect combatant countries, populations in neutral zones can be afflicted by circumjacent conflicts as well, posing a great health burden on mothers and newborns. As neonatal health remains an ongoing cause for concern, identifying determinants that impede fetal growth is crucial. Under this pretext, the study aimed to analyze the impact of World War 1 in the neutral city of Basel on neonatal health by assessing changes in anthropometric parameters. METHODS A retrospective analysis of yearly cross sections of term births in the maternity hospital of Basel from 1912 to 1923 was conducted (n = 3718). We tested adjusted anthropometry for time trends in comparison to a pre-war baseline, including birth weight, placenta weight, birth length, ponderal index and gestational age. Interrelations of placenta weights and birth weights were examined separately through birth weight to placenta weight (BW/PW) ratios and residuals of placenta weight to birth weight regressions. RESULTS Birth weights, placenta weights and residuals were at their lowest in 1918/19, a trend not reflected in BW/PW ratios. Birth lengths remained low while ponderal indexes declined during the entire period of war, gestational age remained rather stable. DISCUSSION 1918/19 were the pinnacle years for the population of Basel, who were suffering from general detrimental economic conditions, a food supply crisis and an outbreak of the Spanish Flu. These adverse circumstances coincided with low birth and placenta weights, residuals depicting the correlation of birth weights to placental weights more closely than bw/pw ratios.
