Recently, microneedles (MNs) have attracted much attention due to their designation as a "painless and non-invasive" novel transdermal delivery method, characterized by their biocompatibility and sustainability. The advantages of MNs open an avenue for potential therapeutic interventions targeting neurological disorders. This review presents a concise overview of progress in the field of MNs, with highlights on the application in the treatment of neurological disorders. Notably, trends in the development of MNs and future challenges are also discussed.

Advances and future perspectives of intranasal drug delivery: A scientometric review

Despite numerous reviews delving into the application of intranasal drug delivery across biomedical fields, a comprehensive analysis of advancements and future perspectives remains elusive. This review elucidates the research progress of intranasal drug delivery through a scientometric analysis. It scrutinizes several challenges to bolster research in this domain, encompassing a thorough exploration of entry and elimination mechanisms specific to intranasal delivery, the identification of drugs compatible with the nasal cavity, the selection of dosage forms to surmount limited drug-loading capacity and poor solubility, and the identification of diseases amenable to the intranasal delivery strategy. Overall, this review furnishes a perspective aimed at galvanizing future research and development concerning intranasal drug delivery.

Cutaneous Pharmacokinetics of Topically Applied Novel Dermatological Formulations

Novel formulations are developed for dermatological applications to address a wide range of patient needs and therapeutic challenges. Emerging technologies like the use of microfluidic devices for skin absorption studies and computational models for predicting drug pharmacokinetics have also been discussed. This article serves as a valuable resource for researchers, scientists, and pharmaceutical professionals determined to enhance the development and understanding of novel dermatological drug products and the complex dynamics of cutaneous pharmacokinetics.
