Abstract
ObjectiveThis retrospective study aimed to evaluate the survival outcomes in International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics (FIGO) 2018 stage IIICp cervical cancer patients receiving different adjuvant treatment modalities after radical hysterectomy.MethodsFrom January 2008 to December 2012, patients diagnosed with cervical cancer who underwent radical hysterectomy plus retroperitoneal lymphadenectomy with pathologically confirmed positive lymph nodes, and received either radiotherapy, concurrent chemoradiation, or sequential chemoradiation, were included in this study. Survival analysis was performed according to different adjuvant treatment modalities and after adjustment using propensity score matching.ResultsA total of 192 stage IIICp cervical cancer patients were eligible. In multivariate analysis, only sequential chemoradiation versus radiotherapy was associated with both overall survival (HR 0.44, 95% CI 0.21 to 0.94, p=0.035) and disease-free survival (HR 0.26, 95% CI 0.11 to 0.57, p<0.001). The 5-year overall survival for radiotherapy, concurrent chemoradiation, and sequential chemoradiation was 71.6%, 81.7%, and 81.5%, respectively. No significant difference in overall survival was noted between the three groups (radiotherapy vs concurrent chemoradiation, p=0.15; radiotherapy vs sequential chemoradiation, p=0.09; concurrent chemoradiation vs sequential chemoradiation, p=0.95). However, sequential chemoradiation significantly increased disease-free survival compared with radiotherapy alone (79.2% vs 63.1%, p=0.028). After propensity score matching in the baseline characteristics, both overall survival (88.0% vs 71.6%, p=0.028) and disease-free survival (88.0% vs 63.1%, p=0.021) were improved in the sequential chemoradiation group compared with radiotherapy alone; no significant differences were noted between sequential chemoradiation and concurrent chemoradiation (overall survival 88.0% vs 83.8%, p=0.50; disease-free survival 88.0% vs 75.8%, p=0.28).ConclusionIn this cohort of FIGO 2018 IIICp cervical cancer patients, post-operative sequential chemoradiation was associated with higher survival compared with radiotherapy alone after propensity matching. Future prospective studies are required to further elucidate the optimal modality in node-positive cervical cancer.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Locally advanced cervical cancer (LACC) is generally treated using concurrent chemo-radiotherapy (CCRT); yet, the effectiveness of adjuvant chemotherapy (ACT) following CCRT remains controversial. METHODS The databases Embase, Web of Science, and PubMed were analyzed for relevant research. Primary endpoints included overall survival (OS) and progression-free survival (PFS). RESULTS Fifteen trials with 4041 patients were included. Pooled HRs for PFS and OS were 0.81 (95 % CI: 0.67-0.96) and 0.69 (95 % CI: 0.51-0.93), respectively. However, subgroup analyses indicated that in randomized trials and trials with larger sample sizes (n > 100) as well as ACT cycles ≤ 3, ACT was not linked with improved PFS and OS. Moreover, ACT induced a greater rate of hematologic toxicities (P < 0.05). CONCLUSION Higher quality of evidence suggests that ACT could not yield additional survival benefits for LACC; however, identifying high-risk patients who may benefit from ACT is required to design further clinical trials and better inform treatment decisions.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Although the prognosis of locally advanced cervical cancer has improved dramatically, survival for those with stage IIIB-IVA disease or lymph nodes metastasis remains poor. It is believed that the incorporation of intensity-modulated radiotherapy into the treatment of cervical cancer might yield an improved loco-regional control, whereas more cycles of more potent chemotherapy after the completion of concurrent chemotherapy was associated with a diminished distant metastasis. We therefore initiated a non-randomized prospective phaseII study to evaluate the feasibility of incorporating both these two treatment modality into the treatment of high risk locally advanced cervical cancer. OBJECTIVES To determine whether the incorporation of intensity-modulated radiotherapy and the addition of adjuvant paclitaxel plus cisplatin regimen into the treatment policy for patients with high risk locally advanced cervical cancer might improve their oncologic outcomes. STUDY DESIGN Patients were enrolled if they had biopsy proven stage IIIA-IVA squamous cervical cancer or stage IIB disease with metastatic regional nodes. Intensity-modulated radiotherapy was delivered with dynamic multi-leaf collimators using 6MV photon beams. Prescription for PTV ranged from 45.0 ~ 50.0 Gy at 1.8 Gy ~ 2.0 Gy/fraction in 25 fractions. Enlarged nodes were contoured separately and PTV-nodes were boosted simultaneously to a total dose of 50.0-65 Gy at 2.0- 2.6 Gy/fraction in 25 fractions. A total dose of 28 ~ 35 Gy high-dose- rate brachytherapy was prescribed to point A in 4 ~ 5 weekly fractions using an iridium- 192 source. Concurrent weekly intravenous cisplatin at 30 mg/m2 was initiated on the first day of radiotherapy for over 1-h during external-beam radiotherapy. Adjuvant chemotherapy was scheduled within 4 weeks after the completion of concurrent chemo-radiotherapy and repeated 3 weeks later. Paclitaxel 150 mg/m2 was given as a 3-h infusion on day1, followed by cisplatin 35 mg/m2 with 1-h infusion on day1-2 (70 mg/m2 in total). RESULTS Fifty patients achieved complete response 4 weeks after the completion of the treatment protocol, whereas 2 patients had persistent disease. After a median follow-up period of 66 months, loco-regional (including 2 persistent disease), distant, and synchronous treatment failure occurred in 4,5, and 1, respectively. The 5-year disease-free survival, loco-regional recurrence-free survival, distant-metastasis recurrence-free survival was 80.5%, 90.3%, and 88.0%, respectively. Four of the patients died of the disease, and the 5-year overall survival was 92.1%. Most of the toxicities reported during concurrent chemo-radiotherapy were mild and transient. The occurrence of hematological toxicities elevated mildly during adjuvant chemotherapy, as 32% (16/50) and 4% (2/50) patients experienced grade 3-4 leukopenia and thrombocytopenia, respectively. Grade 3-4 late toxicities were reported in 3 patients. CONCLUSIONS The incorporation of intensity-modulated radiotherapy and adjuvant paclitaxel plus cisplatin chemotherapy were highly effective and well-tolerated in the treatment of high-risk locally advanced cervical cancer. The former yields an improved loco-regional control, whereas distant metastases could be effectively eradicated with mild toxicities when adjuvant regimen was prescribed.

Abstract
Objective This study aimed to assess the efficacy and safety of adjuvant chemotherapy (ACT) after concurrent chemoradiation (CCRT) in patients with locally advanced cervical cancer (LACC) via meta-analysis. Methods A systematic literature search of MEDLINE, PubMed, Web of Science, EMBASE, and the Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials was conducted from January 10, 1966 to May 20, 2022. Randomized controlled trials and observational studies comparing the CCRT alone with CCRT plus ACT were included. The literature search, quality assessment, and data extraction were conducted by two reviewers independently. The primary endpoints were 3-year rates of overall survival (OS) and progression-free survival (PFS). Complete response rate, local recurrence, distant metastasis, and adverse events were secondary outcomes. The hazard ratios (HRs) and relative risk (RR) were pooled. Results Nine studies with a total of 2732 patients were included in this meta-analysis, including 1411 patients in the CCRT group and 1321 in the CCRT plus ACT group. The HR for 3-year rates of OS and PFS of the CCRT group compared with the CCRT plus ACT group was 0.72 [95%confidence interval (CI) = 0.44-1.17] and 0.78 (95%CI = 0.5-1.75), respectively. No significant differences were observed between the two groups in the complete response rate (RR = 1.06, 95%CI = 0.96-1.16). However, local recurrence and distant metastasis were significantly lower in the CCRT plus ACT group than in the CCRT group (RR = 0.63, 95%CI = 0.44 -0.91 and RR = 0.64, 95%CI = 0.47-0.88). Grade 3-4 acute toxicities were more frequent in the CCRT plus ACT group (RR = 1.73, 95%CI =1.19-2.52). Conclusion Although associated with a decreased risk of local recurrence and distant metastasis, ACT did not significantly improve the survival rate and the complete response rate with increasing grade 3-4 acute toxicities in patients with LACC. Abstract
Background Despite the current standard of concurrent chemoradiation (CCRT), around 30–40% are still dying from locally advanced cervical cancer. Increasing the radiation dose further was not a feasible option, but addition of chemotherapy further was tried due to the different toxicity profiles of it. So, the use of consolidation chemotherapy beyond CCRT has been studied. Aim To evaluate the efficacy, toxicity, tumour response and loco-regional control following consolidation chemotherapy after concurrent chemoradiation in locally advanced carcinoma cervix (LACC). Methods The patients were randomized into two arms: the conventional arm (control arm, n = 30) patients received conventional treatment with weekly injection cisplatin (35 mg/m2) concurrently with pelvic external beam radiation (50 Gy/25 fraction, 2 Gy/fraction, 5 fraction weekly) followed by intracavitary radiotherapy of 21 Gy in 3 fractions of 7 Gy each by HDR brachytherapy. In the interventional arm (study arm, n = 30), patients received the standard treatment followed by 3 cycles of consolidation chemotherapy (paclitaxel + carboplatin) every three weekly. Results Haematological toxicity (grade 3 anaemia and grade 1 leucopenia, grade 1 and 2 thrombocytopenia) was higher in the study group. Renal, hepatic and gastrointestinal toxicity was more in the study arm. Peripheral neuropathy was mostly seen in the study arm. Median follow-up was 9 months. Treatment response was better, and the rate of recurrence was less in the study arm. Conclusion Addition of few cycles of consolidation chemotherapy after standard treatment is beneficial in patients with LACC with manageable toxicity and good compliance.

Abstract
Objectives: With the use of concurrent chemoradiotherapy (CCRT) for locally advanced cervical cancer (LACC), survival outcomes are still not optimal. This study was designed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of adjuvant chemotherapy (ACT) for patients with LACC after treatment with CCRT. Methods: Patients diagnosed with stage IIA-IIIB LACC, were retrospectively analyzed. All patients received cisplatin-based CCRT and were divided into two groups: ACT after CCRT (CCRT + ACT group) and observation after CCRT (CCRT group). Overall survival (OS), progression-free survival (PFS) and adverse effects were recorded and analyzed. Results: In total, 375 patients were included; 262 patients accepted ACT after CCRT while the remaining 113 patients chose observation. With a median follow-up of 40 months, no significant differences were found in the OS rates for patients in the CCRT + ACT and CCRT groups at 1 year, 3 years and the end of follow-up. There was also no significant discrepancy in PFS between groups. Subgroup analysis showed the International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics (FIGO) stage and age had negligible influence on both OS and PFS. Acute adverse events (grades 3-4) happened more frequently in CCRT + ACT group than in the CCRT group, with significant differences in neutropenia, anemia and creatinine. Conclusion: ACT after CCRT did not show benefit in survival but did induce some adverse effects. Therefore, this regimen is not recommended unless further large-scale randomized controlled trials are executed.

Abstract
We investigated whether the addition of adjuvant chemotherapy to chemoradiation improves overall survival (OS) and progression-free survival (PFS) by conducting a systematic review and meta-analysis. Systematic searches in the databases of PubMed, Embase and Web of Science yielded 881 articles. Two reviewer authors independently selected 31 articles for full text review and deemed eight studies eligible for inclusion. Two were randomised controlled trials (RCT), one was a large (n=609) matched-case study and the remaining were small retrospective cohort studies; in total 2,150 patients. Risk of bias assessment showed that the RCTs were at low risk and all other studies were at high risk of bias. Pooled hazard ratios for OS and PFS were 0.78 (95%CI 0.45-1.33, p=0.36) and 0.85 (95%CI 0.65-1.10, p=0.22), respectively. Analysis stratified by study design and sensitivity analysis showed similar results. Funnel plots showed significant publication bias due to a lack of small studies with negative outcomes.

Abstract
To verify the role of consolidation chemotherapy after concurrent chemoradiotherapy for bulky and locally advanced cervical cancer, a meta-analysis was performed. Based on articles published up to Jun 2020 a literature search in PubMed, EMBASE and Cochrane Library was conducted to identify eligible studies. A total of 4 articles consisting of 1659 patients were enrolled. The pooled results revealed that overall survival (OS) of patients treated with consolidation chemotherapy after concurrent chemoradiotherapy (CCRT + CT) was significantly superior to concurrent chemoradiotherapy (CCRT) alone (HR = 0.78, 95% CI: 0.69-0.88, p < .0001). The meta-analysis reviewed that the progression-free survival rate (PFS) of patients treated with CCRT + CT was significantly superior to CCRT alone (HR = 0.80, 95% CI: 0.73-0.87, p < .00001). The pooled results revealed a significant reduction of local recurrence rate for the CCRT + CT group (RR = 0.66, 95% CI: 0.55-0.79, p < .00001). The pooled meta-analysis also showed a significant reduction of distant recurrence rate for the CCRT + CT group (RR = 0.55, 95% CI: 0.44-0.69, p < .00001). The pooled results of grade 3/4 bone marrow suppression were calculated as OR and presented with a 95% CI (OR = 15.85; 95% CI: 9.48, 26.5, p < .00001), indicating patients who received CCRT + CT are more likely to suffer 3/4 bone marrow suppression than those treated with CCRT alone. In conclusion, patients who received chemoradiation with consolidation chemotherapy showed a significantly longer PFS, longer OS, lower local recurrence rate and distant recurrence rate compared to traditional concurrent chemoradiotherapy.Impact statementWhat is already known on this subject? Since CCRT was recommended as the standard treatment for cervical cancer, there was still a 20-30% chance of local recurrence, and 18-25% of distant recurrence for cervical cancer patients. Aiming to completely eradicate potential undetected micrometastases, consolidation chemotherapy came into the area of interest. We conducted a meta-analysis to verify the role of consolidation chemotherapy in cervical cancer.What do the results of this study add? The addition of consolidation CT resulted in a longer overall survival rate (OS) and progression-free survival rate (PFS), mainly due to control of local and distant relapses, especially the latter one. Toxicity followed consolidation CT increased but still clinically manageable.What are the implications of these findings for clinical practice and/or further research? In the future, we need more clinical studies with high quality to verify the role of consolidation CT in cervical cancer, and further to optimise the criteria for it.

Abstract
BACKGROUND This study aimed to validate the performance of the Korean Gynecologic Oncologic Group (KGOG)-1024 risk model in predicting the risk of distant failure after chemoradiation in patients with locally advanced cervical cancer (LACC). METHODS In a retrospective cohort of 297 patients who received concurrent chemoradiation for advanced cervical cancer, individual risk was calculated using the KGOG-1024 risk model. The cohort was categorized into three risk groups (low-, intermediate-, and high-risk groups) according to the calculated risk. The means of the calculated and observed risks were compared within each group. RESULTS The study population was classified into low-, intermediate-, and high-risk groups according to the KGOG-1024 risk model (27.2%, 49.3%, and 23.5% of patients, respectively). The calculated and observed 5-year cumulative incidence rates were 12.4% vs. 16.4% in the low-risk group, 23.2% vs. 25.9% in the intermediate-risk group, and 50.7% vs. 36.3% in the high-risk group. Overall, the calculated and observed risk was 26.7% vs. 25.6%. CONCLUSIONS The KGOG-1024 risk assessment model accurately predicted distant recurrence after chemoradiation in patients with LACC, especially in the low- and intermediate-risk groups. The model may be helpful for identifying patients for future trials assessing the possible benefit of adjuvant systemic treatment after chemoradiation.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE The goal of the study was to confirm whether preoperative controlling nutritional status (CONUT) was a prognostic factor in early-stage cervical cancer patients with high-risk factors after surgery and postoperative concurrent chemoradiotherapy (CCRT). METHODS Between 2004 and 2015, a total of 698 patients who were treated with surgery and postoperative CCRT were included in this retrospective study. The prescribed dose for postoperative radiotherapy was 45-50.4 Gy in 25-28 fractions and the concurrent chemotherapy regimen contained cisplatin or paclitaxel. Based on the receiver operating characteristic (ROC) analysis, the patients were classified into low (<3) and high (≥3) CONUT groups. RESULTS Of all study patients, 471 (67.5%) patients were included in the low CONUT group. The low CONUT group had significantly better 5-year disease-free survival (DFS) and overall survival (OS) than the high CONUT group (p<0.001 and p = 0.001, respectively). A high CONUT score was significantly associated with lymph node metastasis, parametrial invasion, and poorer nutritional status, including lower body mass index (BMI) and lower prognostic nutritional index (PNI) score (p<0.05, respectively). The CONUT score was an independent predictor of DFS and OS in multivariate analysis. Notably, the CONUT score still efficiently stratified DFS in the high PNI score group (P = 0.001). CONCLUSIONS The preoperative high CONUT scores indicated poor prognosis for early-stage cervical cancer patients with high-risk factors treated with surgery and postoperative CCRT. In clinical practice, patients with high CONUT score should be considered to receive consolidation chemotherapy.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Standard of care for locally advanced cervical cancer is chemoradiation and brachytherapy. The addition of adjuvant systemic treatment may improve overall survival. A systematic review and meta-analysis was conducted to summarize evidence on survival outcomes, treatment completion and toxicity. METHODS PubMed, EMBASE and Web of Science were systematically searched for relevant prospective and retrospective studies. Two authors independently selected studies, extracted data and assessed study quality. Pooled hazard ratios for survival endpoints were estimated using random effect models. Weighted averages of treatment completion and toxicity rates were calculated and compared by the Fisher exact test. RESULTS The search returned 612 articles; 35 articles reporting on 29 different studies on adjuvant chemotherapy or immunotherapy were selected for systematic review. Twelve studies on an adjuvant platinum-pyrimidine antagonist or platinum-taxane were included for meta-analysis. The pooled hazard ratios for overall survival were 0.76 (99%CI: 0.43-1.34, p = 0.22) and 0.47 (99%CI: 0.12-1.86, p = 0.16) for the addition of, respectively, a platinum-pyrimidine antagonist or platinum-taxane to chemoradiation and brachytherapy. Completion rates were 82% (95%CI: 76-87%) for platinum-pyrimidine antagonist and 74% (95%CI: 63-85%) for platinum-taxane. Severe acute hematological and gastro-intestinal toxicities were significantly increased by adding adjuvant chemotherapy to chemoradiation and brachytherapy. CONCLUSIONS The addition of adjuvant platinum-pyrimidine antagonist or platinum-taxane after chemoradiation and brachytherapy does not significantly improve overall survival, while acute toxicity is significantly increased. These adjuvant treatment strategies can therefore not be recommended for unselected patients with locally advanced cervical cancer.

Abstract
Introduction: Locally advanced cervical cancer (LACC) (International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics (FIGO) 2009/2018 - stages IB2-IVA/IB3-IVA, respectively) is treated using a multimodal approach that includes chemoradiotherapy followed by brachytherapy.Areas covered: This review provides an overview of the progress made over the past decade in the treatment of LACC. Prognostic factors, FIGO classification and the role of imaging staging will be discussed. Efficacy of external-beam radiotherapy, brachytherapy and chemotherapy will be detailed. Indications for para-aortic staging lymphadenectomy and adjuvant hysterectomy, as well as follow-up and special population, will be covered.Expert opinion: The initial workup is one of the most crucial steps in the optimal care of patients, which should be realized by a multidisciplinary expert team. With the implementation of modern conformal radiotherapy techniques, the local control rate has been optimized. Nevertheless, 40% of patients experience recurrence with distant metastasis and a dismal prognosis. Currently, a clear benefit of neo- and adjuvant chemotherapy has not been established. The future likely involves (1) improved selection of patients for whom treatment intensification is justified, (2) a combination of new drugs with chemoradiation that are currently being tested in trials, and (3) the development of tailored treatment based on molecular characteristics.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To identify patterns of therapy failure after radiotherapy in Chinese patients with locally advanced cervical cancer (LACC). METHODS A retrospective study was conducted at a Chinese hospital from June 2012 to July 2018. All analyses were done using SPSS 26. RESULTS 105 patients with treatment failure were included. After a median follow-up of 27 months (range 10-82), the 3-year survival rate after therapy failure was 19.4%. In multivariate analysis, squamous cell carcinoma antigen (SCC-Ag) <4 ng/mL (p < 0.001) and disease-free interval >12 months (p = 0.013) showed significant survival benefits. We identified 3 types of failure: distant lymph node metastasis (n = 50), hematogenous metastasis (n = 53) and pelvic failure (n = 48). Most metastatic para-aortic lymph nodes (PALN) were inferior to the level of left renal hilum (84.8%, n = 28). A total of 80% of patients with supraclavicular lymph nodes (SCLN) metastasis ignored imaging on supraclavicular region. For solitary SCLN or lung metastasis, the prognosis was better than that combined with other sites failure, respectively (p = 0.005; p = 0.001). Many patients with central sites recurrence received insufficient doses of intracavitary brachytherapy (IBT) for low tolerance to pain. CONCLUSION The distribution of metastatic PALN is asymmetrical and optimizing clinical target volume to minimize toxicity of para-aortic radiation is necessary. The effect of ultrasonography as preliminary screening and follow-up means on SCLN metastasis can be expected. Pain management and psychological interventions are essential for patients receiving IBT.

Abstract
Para-aortic lymph node status at initial assessment is the most important prognostic factor and a key point for the therapeutic strategy in patients with locally advanced cervical cancer. Undiagnosed lymph node metastasis is a major clinical problem as the finding of positive para-aortic lymph nodes leads to treatment modification, with a possible impact on disease free survival. When aortic lymph node disease is discovered, radiotherapy is extended to the para-aortic area, and other treatment modalities may be considered. Fluorine-18 fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT) is the most accurate imaging examination to assess para-aortic extension in patients with locally advanced cervical cancer. The gold standard to identify para-aortic extension remains histologic evaluation of the lymph nodes. Indeed, PET/CT fails to detect approximately 10-15% of patients with negative PET/CT aortic nodes who have lymph node metastasis on pathologic staging. Patients with positive pelvic lymph nodes have para-aortic extension in 25-30% of cases, and surgical staging will lead to treatment modification and probably to improved para-aortic and distant control. Surgical staging also avoids unnecessary toxicity associated with extended field radiation in approximately 75% of patients with pelvic lymph node metastasis. The best modality to identify para-aortic extension is histological evaluation of the lymph nodes, but the survival benefit of surgical staging remains controversial. On the other hand, current studies include a majority of patients without pelvic lymph node spread, who are likely to be those who will benefit the least from surgical staging.

Abstract
ObjectiveThe benefit of adjuvant chemotherapy after definitive chemoradiotherapy in patients with pelvic lymph node-positive cervical cancer has been poorly studied. This study aimed to test the hypothesis that the addition of adjuvant chemotherapy to definitive radiotherapy or concurrent chemoradiotherapy improves survival in patients with pelvic lymph node-positive cervical squamous cell carcinoma.MethodsThis retrospective study enrolled patients with stage IB–IVA pelvic lymph node-positive cervical squamous cell carcinoma, without para-aortic lymph node metastases and initially treated with definitive radiotherapy or concurrent chemoradiotherapy between March 2007 and February 2018. Patients were classified into the adjuvant chemotherapy (5-fluorouracil or paclitaxel, plus cisplatin) and no-adjuvant chemotherapy groups. Treatment outcomes were compared between the two groups before and after 1:1 ratio propensity score matching.ResultsMedical records of 951 patients were reviewed and 792 patients were excluded. Finally, 159 patients were enrolled for analysis. Of these, 42 patients received a median of two cycles (range, 1–6) of adjuvant chemotherapy and 117 patients under observation after primary treatment. The median follow-up period was 33.8 months (range, 2.9–113.0). Before propensity score matching, no significant difference was observed in survivals between the two groups (P>0.05). After propensity score matching, 37 pairs of patients were selected. The 3-year rates of progression-free survival, overall survival, local control, and distant metastasis-free survival in the adjuvant chemotherapy and no-adjuvant chemotherapy groups were 80.2% and 60.4% (P=0.07), 83.0% and 63.7% (P=0.17), 94.0% and 81.9% (P=0.12), and 85.9% and 60.1% (P=0.04), respectively. The incidences of grade 3–4 acute and late toxicities were comparable between the two groups (P>0.05).DiscussionAdjuvant chemotherapy significantly improved 3-year distant metastasis-free survival in patients with pelvic lymph node-positive cervical squamous cell carcinoma. Abstract
Objective Post-operative concurrent chemoradiotherapy has become the standard treatment for patients with positive lymph nodes after radical surgery. The aim of this study was to explore the efficiency and safety of consolidation chemotherapy in early-stage cervical cancer patients with lymph node metastasis after radical hysterectomy. Method We reviewed the medical records of patients with early-stage cervical cancer with lymph node metastasis after radical hysterectomy from January 2010 to January 2017. All patients underwent adjuvant concurrent chemoradiotherapy (n=49) or three cycles of platinum-based consolidation chemotherapy following concurrent chemoradiotherapy (n=89). The primary end points of the study were disease-free survival and overall survival. Results The median follow-up time was 51 months (range 10–109). No significant difference was noted in disease-free survival, overall survival, or grade 3/4 gastrointestinal disorder between the consolidation chemotherapy group (78.1% vs 83.1% vs 6.7%) and the concurrent chemoradiotherapy alone group (75.4% vs 75.3% vs 4.1%), (p=0.42, 0.26, 0.80, respectively). However, the grade 3/4 myelosuppression rate in the consolidation group was higher than in the concurrent chemoradiotherapy alone group (40.4% vs 22.4%, p=0.03). For patients with >3 positive lymph nodes or patients with >2 positive lymph nodes+lymphovascular space invasion/≥1/3 stromal invasion, disease-free survival and overall survival were superior in the consolidation chemotherapy group compared with the concurrent chemoradiotherapy alone group (p<0.05). Conclusion In patients with >3 positive lymph nodes or patients with >2 positive lymph nodes, lymphovascular space invasion, and greater than 1/3 stromal invasion, disease-free survival and overall survival were superior with consolidation chemotherapy. However, consolidation chemotherapy was also associated with an increased grade 3/4 myelosuppression rate.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE The purpose of this study was to evaluate the impact of high-risk factors on the survival of patients with cervical cancer treated with surgery followed by adjuvant chemoradiotherapy. METHODS From 2000 to 2014, medical records of 897 patients with International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics stage IB-IIA disease treated with surgery were retrospectively reviewed. Among them, 483 patients with high-risk factors, including pelvic lymph node metastasis, parametrial invasion, or resection margin involvement, were analyzed. RESULTS The median follow-up time was 57 months (range, 6-205 months). For patients with single and multiple high-risk factors, the 5-year DFS rates were 80.4% and 65.7%, respectively (p < 0.001), and 5-year OS rates were 87.3% and 75.1%, respectively (p = 0.001). Distant metastasis was the most common pattern of recurrence (86.1%). Furthermore, distant metastasis-free survival significantly differed with the number of high-risk factors present (single 82.7% vs. multiple 68.8%, p < 0.001). In the multivariate analysis, while parametrial invasion and resection margin involvement showed no association, the adenocarcinoma histology, pelvic lymph node metastasis, higher metastatic lymph node ratio, and multiple high-risk factors were independent prognosticators associated with poor DFS and OS. CONCLUSIONS Patients with early-stage cervical cancer having multiple high-risk factors, adenocarcinoma histologic type, and pelvic lymph node metastasis accompanied by a higher lymph node ratio after surgery are more likely to have occult distant metastasis. Further, consolidation with systemic chemotherapy after adjuvant therapy might be considered to improve the survival outcome in this patient population.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE Resistance to chemo-radiation therapy is a substantial obstacle that compromises treatment of advanced cervical cancer. The objective of this study was to investigate if a proteomic panel associated with radioresistance could predict survival of patients with locally advanced cervical cancer. METHODS A total of 181 frozen tissue samples were prospectively obtained from patients with locally advanced cervical cancer before chemoradiation. Expression levels of 22 total and phosphorylated proteins were evaluated using well-based reverse phase protein arrays. Selected proteins were validated with western blotting analysis and immunohistochemistry. Performances of models were internally and externally validated. RESULTS Unsupervised clustering stratified patients into three major groups with different overall survival (OS, P = 0.001) and progression-free survival (PFS, P = 0.003) based on detection of BCL2, HER2, CD133, CAIX, and ERCC1. Reverse-phase protein array results significantly correlated with western blotting results (R2 = 0.856). The C-index of model was higher than clinical model in the prediction of OS (C-index: 0.86 and 0.62, respectively) and PFS (C-index: 0.82 and 0.64, respectively). The Kaplan-Meier survival curve showed a dose-dependent prognostic significance of risk score for PFS and OS. Multivariable Cox proportional hazard model confirmed that the risk score was an independent predictor of PFS (HR: 1.6; 95% CI: 1.4-1.9; P < 0.001) and OS (HR: 2.1; 95% CI: 1.7-2.5; P < 0.001). CONCLUSION A proteomic panel of BCL2, HER2, CD133, CAIX, and ERCC1 independently predicted survival in locally advanced cervical cancer patients. This prediction model can help identify chemoradiation responsive tumors and improve prediction for clinical outcome of cervical cancer patients.

Abstract
Objective To compare response rate and survivals of locally advanced stage cervical cancer patients who had standard concurrent chemoradiation therapy (CCRT) alone to those who had adjuvant chemotherapy (ACT) after CCRT. Methods Patients aged 18–70 years who had International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics stage IIB–IVA without para-aortic lymph node enlargement, Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group scores 0–2, and non-aggressive histopathology were randomized to have CCRT with weekly cisplatin followed by observation (arm A) or by ACT with paclitaxel plus carboplatin every 4 weeks for 3 cycles (arm B). Results Data analysis of 259 patients showed no significant difference in complete responses at 4 months after treatment between arm A (n=129) and arm B (n=130): 94.1% vs. 87.0% (p=0.154) respectively. With the median follow-up of 27.4 months, 15.5% of patients in arm A and 10.8% in arm B experienced recurrences (p=0.123). There were no significant differences of overall or loco-regional failure. However, systemic recurrences were significantly lower in arm B than arm A: 5.4% vs. 10.1% (p=0.029). The 3-year progression-free survival (PFS) and 3-year overall survival (OS) of the patients in both arms were not significantly different. The hazard ratio of PFS and OS of arm B compared to arm A were 1.26 (95% CI=0.82–1.96; p=0.293) and 1.42 (95% CI=0.81–2.49; p=0.221) respectively. Conclusions ACT with paclitaxel plus carboplatin after CCRT did not improve response rate and survival compared to CCRT alone. Only significant decrease of systemic recurrences with ACT was observed, but not overall or loco-regional failure. Abstract
BACKGROUND Treatment of advanced uterine cervical cancer has advanced little in the last 15 years. Although two phase III trials showed survival benefit with the addition of consolidation chemotherapy (CT) after cisplatin-based chemoradiotherapy (RTCT), it is not considered standard of care. We aimed to evaluate the benefit of consolidation CT compared to no additional treatment in patients treated with RTCT. METHODS This is a retrospective study including 186 patients with FIGO stage IB2, IIA2, or IIB to IVB (paraaortic lymph nodes only) uterine cervical cancer who were treated with standard RTCT alone or RTCT followed by consolidation CT. Overall survival (OS), progression free survival (PFS), and the risk of distant and local relapses were compared between the two treatment groups. RESULTS At 3 years OS was 91% versus 82.3% (p=0.027), PFS 84.3% versus 54.4% (p=0.047), and distant metastasis free survival (DMFS) 80.4% versus 62.5% (p=0.027) in favor of the consolidation CT group. Multivariate analysis confirmed the benefit of consolidation CT. There was no difference in locoregional free survival (LRFS). Positive lymph node was related to a higher risk of distant relapse. In the lymph node positive subgroup consolidation CT resulted in longer OS (p=0.050), PFS (p=0.014), and DMFS (p=0.022); in the lymph node negative subgroup there was no benefit from consolidation CT. CONCLUSIONS Use of consolidation CT resulted in longer OS and PFS, mostly due to control of distant relapses. Patients at higher risk of distant relapse showed the greatest benefit. This data generates a hypothesis that could help to better select patients to consolidation CT.

Abstract
This article reviewed new trends and controversial issues, including the intensification of chemotherapy and recent brachytherapy (BT) advances, and also reviewed recent consensuses from different societies on the management of locally advanced cervical cancer (LACC). Intensive chemotherapy during and after radiation therapy (RT) was not recommended as a standard treatment due to severe toxicities reported by several studies. The use of positron emission tomography-computed tomography (PET-CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) for pelvic RT planning has increased the clinical utilization of intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) for the evaluation of pelvic lymph node metastasis and pelvic bone marrow. Recent RT techniques for LACC patients mainly aim to minimize toxicities by sparing the normal bladder and rectum tissues and shortening the overall treatment time by administering a simultaneous integrated boost for metastatic pelvic lymph node in pelvic IMRT followed by MRI-based image guided adaptive BT.

Abstract
A phase III randomized study on the efficacy and safety of consolidation chemotherapy with paclitaxel plus cisplatin following radical hysterectomy and adjuvant chemoradiotherapy (CRT) in the treatment of high risk early-stage cervical cancer were reported. 146 eligible patients were randomized to arm A receiving concurrent CRT or arm B receiving CRT plus consolidation chemotherapy, respectively. An interim analysis showed a trend of improvement on disease-free survival (DFS) and overall survival (OS) in arm B with hazard ratios (HR) of 1.25 (95% CI = 0.60–2.60, p = 0.55) and 1.43 (95% CI = 0.64–3.20, p = 0.38) for DFS and OS, respectively. The 3-year DFS and OS were 82.0% vs.74.3%, and 86.6% vs. 78.3% for patients receiving CRT plus consolidation chemotherapy and CRT alone, respectively. There was significant difference between the two arms in distant alone recurrence (p = 0.048). Multivariate analysis indicated that pathologic type was a significant prognostic factor for OS (p = 0.045), positive pelvic nodes were significantly associated with both OS (p=0.02) and DFS (P=0.03). Grade 2 to 4 gastrointestinal disorder (p = 0.95), radiation enteritis (P=0.48), radiation cystitis (p = 0.27) and radioepidermitis (p = 0.46) were similar in the two arms. Overall rates of grade 0–2/3–4 myelosuppression were 87.7%/12.3% for arm A and 74.6%/25.4% for arm B, respectively, but this difference was not statistically significant (p = 0.05). In conclusion, concurrent CRT plus consolidation chemotherapy may play a potential role in further improving survival outcomes for high-risk early stage cervical cancer patients compared CRT alone.

A postoperative scoring system for distant recurrence in node-positive cervical cancer patients after radical hysterectomy and pelvic lymph node dissection with para-aortic lymph node sampling or dissection. Abstract
OBJECTIVE To identify risk factors for distant recurrence in node-positive cervical cancer patients who underwent radical hysterectomy and pelvic lymph node dissection (PLND) with para-aortic lymph node sampling (PALNS) or para-aortic lymph node dissection (PALND). METHODS A total of 299 patients in whom lymph node metastasis was confirmed after radical surgery at Asan Medical Center for stage IA2 to IIB cervical cancer from February 2001 to December 2012 were identified. In all, 72 (24.1%) patients underwent PLND only and 227 (75.9%) underwent PLND with PALNS or PALND. Four patients were excluded due to diagnosed with small cell carcinoma. The clinicopathologic data of 223 patients were retrospectively analyzed. Distant recurrence was defined as recurrence at a site over the pelvic radiation field. RESULTS Among all 223 study patients, the mean number of positive lymph nodes was 4.46. There were 54 (24.2%) patients with distant metastasis. Multivariate analyses using the Cox proportional hazards model showed that histologic types (HR=3.031, P≤0.001 for adenocarcinoma, HR=2.302, P=0.066 for adenosquamous carcinoma), number of positive lymph nodes (HR=1.077, P≤0.001), and surgical stage (HR=1.264, P=0.022) were independent risk factors for distant recurrence of cervical cancer. A scoring system for the prediction of distant recurrence was generated by incorporating these factors and showed good discrimination and calibration (concordance index of 0.753). In an internal validation set, this scoring system showed good discrimination with a C-statistics of 0.777. According to the Hosmer-Lemeshow test, the chi-square was 0.650 and the P-value was 0.723. CONCLUSIONS We have developed a robust scoring system that can predict the risk of distant recurrence in node-positive cervical cancer patients after radical operation. This scoring system was used to identify a group of patients who required systemic control of distant micrometastasis. This group of patients is an appropriate target for consolidation chemotherapy after concurrent chemoradiation therapy.

Abstract
Background In cervical cancer patients with intermediate-risk factors, the optimal adjuvant therapy is still controversial. We undertook a randomized trial (ClinicalTrials.gov Identifier: NCT01418859) to compare the efficacy and toxicity of concurrent chemoradiotherapy with topotecan and cisplatin with radiotherapy alone in intermediate-risk cervical cancer patients. Methods Eligible patients were randomly assigned to one of three treatment arms including arm A (radiotherapy only,RT), arm B(concurrent chemoradiotherapy only, CCRT), and arm C (concurrent chemoradiotherapy with following consolidation chemotherapy, CCRT + CT). All eligible patients completed external RT (IMRT or 3D-CRT), receiving 45-50Gy /25f uniformly to the pelvis. Concurrent chemotherapy regimen was topotecan 0.75 mg/m2 for days 1, 2 and 3, followed by cisplatin 25 mg/m2 for days 1, 2 and 3. Three cycles of consolidation chemotherapy regimen was topotecan 1.5 mg/m2 for days 1 and 2, and 0.75 mg/m2 for day 3; followed by cisplatin 25 mg/m2 for days 1, 2 and 3, repeated every 21 days. Adverse events of each group were investigated and compared. Results Thirty-nine patients enrolled onto the remaining regimens: 14 to RT, 15 to CCRT and 10 to CCRT + CT. Six patients (15.4%) did not complete the protocol treatment. Hematologic toxicity was more frequent and more severe in the CCRT and CCRT + CT arms compared with the RT arm. The incidence of grade 3-4 neutropenia was significantly different statistically between the RT, CCRT and CCRT + RT groups (15.4%, 46.7% and 100%, respectively; P = 0.002). Specially, three patients in CCRT + CT arm of all six patients who did not complete the protocol treatment discontinued planned therapy because of persistent grade 4 neutropenia. However, there were no significant differences in grade 3-4 non-hematologic toxicities between the three groups(all P > 0.05). Recurrence-free survival and overall survival of each group were not analyzed on account of a median follow-up of only 16 months. Conclusions Concurrent chemoradiotherapy with topotecan and cisplatin showed severe hematologic toxicity in intermediate-risk cervical cancer patients after radical hysterectomy. Abstract
OBJECTIVE A recent randomized trial demonstrated that concurrent chemoradiotherapy (CCRT) with weekly cisplatin and gemcitabine, followed by two adjuvant cycles of cisplatin and gemcitabine improved survival for advanced cervical cancer patients. An Asian Gynecologic Oncology Group (AGOG) study was designed to determine whether only adding gemcitabine in the chemoradiation phase without adjuvant chemotherapy could improve survival. METHODS Between March 2009 and March 2013, 74 eligible patients with International Federation of Obstetrics and Gynecology stage III/IVA cervical cancer or stage I/II with positive pelvic/para-aortic nodal metastasis were enrolled. Thirty-seven patients were randomized to arm C (weekly cisplatin 40mg/m(2)) and 37 patients were randomized to arm CG (weekly cisplatin 40mg/m(2) and gemcitabine 125mg/m(2)), for six cycles. Six eligible patients were excluded before the beginning of treatment. RESULTS An interim analysis showed superimposable progression-free (PFS) and overall survival (OS), a decision of closing accrual was made. A 3-year PFS was similar in both arms (arm C 65.1% vs. arm CG 71.0%, p=0.71), and a 3-year OS was 74.1% in arm C vs. 85.9% in arm CG (p=0.89), but crossed over at 5years. Grade 2-4 hematological toxicities, including neutropenia (p=0.028) and thrombocytopenia (p=0.001), were more frequent in arm CG than arm C. CONCLUSIONS Despite limitation in power, it suggests that only adding gemcitabine at the CCRT phase does not provide substantially superior results, but treatment toxicities could increase. Further studies are required to determine the role of post-CCRT adjuvant chemotherapy in advanced cervical cancer.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Current standard treatment for patients with cervical cancer who have locally advanced stage disease (International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics (FIGO) stage IIB to IVA) is concurrent chemoradiation therapy (CCRT). However, less than two-thirds of patients in this group survive for longer than five years post treatment. Adjuvant chemotherapy (ACT) can be given in an attempt to improve survival by eradicating residual disease in the pelvis and treating occult disease outside the pelvic radiation field. However, inconsistency in trial design, inclusion criteria for participants, interventions and survival benefit has been noted among trials of ACT after CCRT for locally advanced cervical cancer (LACC). OBJECTIVES To evaluate the effect of adjuvant chemotherapy (ACT) after concurrent chemoradiation (CCRT) on survival of women with locally advanced cervical cancer compared with CCRT alone. SEARCH METHODS We searched the Cochrane Gynaecological Review Group Trial Register, the Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials (CENTRAL), MEDLINE, EMBASE and conference proceedings to March 2014. We handsearched citation lists of relevant studies. SELECTION CRITERIA Randomised controlled trials (RCTs) comparing CCRT alone versus CCRT plus ACT were included. Patients were diagnosed with cervical cancer FIGO stage IIB to IVA with a histopathology of squamous cell carcinoma, adenosquamous cell carcinoma, adenocarcinoma or undifferentiated carcinoma. DATA COLLECTION AND ANALYSIS Two review authors (ST, KK) selected relevant trials, extracted data, assessed risk of bias independently, compared results and resolved disagreements by discussion. MAIN RESULTS We identified two RCTs involving 978 women with cervical cancer stage IIB to IVA. As the trials were significantly different clinically, we did not perform meta-analyses. One industry-funded trial involving 515 women compared CCRT (cisplatin) versus CCRT (cisplatin and gemcitabine) plus ACT (two additional cycles). This trial reported significant improvement in progression-free survival (PFS) and overall survival (OS) in women who were given CCRT plus ACT compared with those treated with CCRT alone: Three-year PFS was 74.4% versus 65.0% (hazard ratio (HR) 0.68, 95% confidence interval (CI) 0.49 to 0.95, P value 0.027), and three-year OS was 80% versus 69% (HR 0.68, 95% CI 0.49 to 0.95, P value 0.022). However, as the CCRT chemotherapy differed between the two arms, we considered the findings to be at high risk of bias.The second trial was a four-arm study from which we extracted data on 463 women in two study arms receiving CCRT (intravenous mitomycin C and oral 5-fluorouracil (5-FU)) or CCRT plus ACT (oral 5-FU for three cycles). The HR for OS in women who received ACT after CCRT compared with the HR for OS in those who were given CCRT alone was 1.309 (95% CI 0.795 to 2.157), and the HR for disease-free survival (DFS) was 1.125 (95% CI 0.799 to 1.586).Haematological adverse events were more common in the ACT arms of both trials. Quality of life (QoL) was not reported in either trial. AUTHORS' CONCLUSIONS With limited data from only two trials, we found insufficient evidence to support the use of ACT after CCRT. Future large trials are required to demonstrate efficacy, toxicities and QoL.

Abstract
Objective Presence of high-risk factor in cervical cancer is known to be associated with decreased survival outcomes. However, the significance of multiple high-risk factors in early-stage cervical cancer related to survival outcomes, recurrence patterns, and treatment implications is not well elucidated. Methods A retrospective study was conducted for surgically treated cervical cancer patients (stage IA2-IIB, n=540). Surgical-pathological risk factors were examined and tumors expressing ≥1 high-risk factors (nodal metastasis, parametrial involvement, or positive surgical margin) were eligible for analysis (n=177, 32.8%). Survival analysis was performed based on the number of high-risk factors and the type of adjuvant therapy. Results There were 68 cases (38.4%) expressed multiple high-risk factors (2 high-risk factors: n=58, 32.8%; 3 high-risk factors: n=10, 5.6%). Multiple high-risk factors remained an independent prognosticator for decreased survival outcomes after controlling for age, histology, stage, and treatment type (disease-free survival: hazard ratio [HR], 2.34; p=0.002; overall survival: HR, 2.32; p=0.007). Postoperatively, 101 cases (57.1%) received concurrent chemoradiotherapy (CCRT) and 76 cases (42.9%) received radiotherapy (RT) alone. CCRT was beneficial in single high-risk factor cases: HRs for CCRT over RT alone for cumulative risk of locoregional and distant recurrence, 0.27 (p=0.022) and 0.27 (p=0.005), respectively. However, tumor expressing multiple high-risk factors completely offset the benefit of CCRT over RT alone for the risk of distant recurrence: HR for locoregional and distant recurrence, 0.31 (p=0.071) and 0.99 (p=0.980), respectively. Conclusion Special consideration for the significance of multiple high-risk factors merits further investigation in the management of surgically treated early-stage cervical cancer.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To investigate the recurrence sites, risk factors, and prognosis of patients with persistent or recurrent squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) of the cervix within one year after undergoing concurrent chemoradiotherapy (CCRT). METHODS Clinical data of 30 patients with persistent or recurrent SCC of the cervix within one year after CCRT between July 2006 and July 2011 were analyzed retrospectively. These data were compared with those of 35 SCC cases with no signs of recurrence after complete remission. These 35 patients were treated during the same period (between 2006 and 2011) and selected randomly. RESULTS Among these 30 patients, 25 exhibited distant metastases of which 14 were observed within 6 months after CCRT. Univariate analysis showed higher incidence of pelvic or para-aortic lymphadenectasis and SCC-ag >10 ng/mL in the group with persistent or recurrent disease before treatment (P<0.01). Multivariate analysis by logistic regression revealed that the pre-therapeutic pelvic or para-aortic lymph node enlargement and SCC-ag >10 ng/mL were the independent risk factors. Palliative chemotherapy was the main treatment option for patients with persistent or recurrent disease. The 2-year survival rate was 21.7%, and the median survival time was 17 months. CONCLUSION Patients with persistent or recurrent SCC of the cervix after CCRT exhibited a high rate of distant metastasis with poor prognosis. The pre-therapeutic pelvic or para-aortic lymph node enlargement and SCC-ag >10 ng/mL were identified as the independent risk factors for persistent or recurrent SCC within 1 year after CCRT.

Abstract
Background: Surgical–pathological risk factors were evaluated by weighting the magnitude of significance of multiple risk factors correlating to survival and treatment response in cervical cancer. Methods: Multivariate analysis was performed for survival outcomes entering seven pathological factors obtained from 540 radical hysterectomy specimens in stage IA2-IIB cervical cancer cases. Hazard ratio (HR) in each risk factor was determined, and the sum of HR scores for the corresponding risk factors was determined per case. Survival curves and postoperative treatment response (concurrent chemoradiotherapy (CCRT) vs radiotherapy alone) were evaluated based on the extent of HR-weighted scores. Results: Hazard ratios for risk factors relating to disease-free survival (DFS) was: lympho-vascular space invasion 3.95, nodal metastasis 3.88, adenocarcinoma 3.40, large tumour 2.36, positive margin 1.99, deep stromal invasion 1.29, and parametria invasion 1.21. The HR-weighted scoring method showed a high predictive value for recurrence (area-under-curve 0.836, P<0.001). Hazard ratio-weighted scores were negatively correlated to DFS, and the cases with score ⩾12.5 showed 5-year DFS rate of 23.8%. Tumours with larger score offset the benefits of CCRT over radiotherapy alone for postoperative adjuvant treatment (P<0.001). Conclusion: Surgical–pathological risk factors provide valuable information for survival and management of early-stage cervical cancer when number and significance of risks are weighted.

Abstract
Purpose The relationship between treatment outcomes, alteration of the expression of biological markers, and tumor volume response during radiotherapy (RT) in patients with uterine cervical cancer was analyzed. Materials and Methods Twenty patients with cervical squamous cell carcinoma received definitive RT with (n = 17) or without (n = 3) concurrent chemotherapy. Tumor volumes were measured by three serial magnetic resonance imaging scans at pre-, mid-, and post-RT. Two serial punch biopsies were performed at pre- and mid-RT, and immunohistochemical staining for cyclooxygenase (COX)-2 and epidermal growth factor receptor was performed. The median follow-up duration was 60 months. Results The median tumor volume response at mid-RT (V2R) was 0.396 (range, 0.136 to 0.983). At mid-RT, an interval increase in the distribution of immunoreactivity for COX-2 was observed in 8 patients, and 6 of them showed poor mid-RT tumor volume response (V2R ≥ 0.4). Four (20%) patients experienced disease progression after 10 to 12 months (median, 11 months). All 4 patients had poor mid-RT tumor volume response (p = 0.0867) and 3 of them had an interval increase in COX-2 expression. Overall survival (OS) and progression-free survival (PFS) decreased in patients with V2R ≥ 0.4 (p = 0.0291 for both). An interval increase in COX-2 expression at mid-RT was also associated with a decreased survival (p = 0.1878 and 0.1845 for OS and PFS, respectively). Conclusion Poor tumor volume response and an interval increase in COX-2 expression at mid-RT decreased survival outcomes in patients with uterine cervical cancer.
