Abstract
Thyroglossal duct cyst carcinoma (TGDCCa) is a rare condition with only approximately 300 cases reported to date. There is a lack of comprehensive reporting on its clinical manifestations, ultrasound, contrast-enhanced computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) features, immunophenotyping, procedure, and prognosis following modified Sistrunk's procedure. This study aimed to address these gaps by analyzing and summarizing the clinical features of 5 cases of papillary carcinoma arising in thyroglossal duct cysts (TGDC).Five patients with papillary carcinoma in TGDC treated by modified Sistrunk's procedure were included. Their clinical manifestation, physical examination findings, iconography, pathological findings, treatment, and outcomes were analyzed in aiding the diagnosis and treatment of TGDCCa. Immunohistochemistry was used to confirm the papillary carcinoma subtype. The BRAFV600E mutation was detected in 2 patients. No evidence of cancer recurrence, distant metastases, and malignant changes in the thyroid was found after a mean follow-up of 29.8 months. The management of TGDCCa with papillary carcinoma in low-risk patients can be accomplished by performing a modified Sistrunk's procedure along with a regular follow-up imaging of the thyroid and neck. Although postoperative pathological diagnosis is the gold standard for diagnosis, it is equally crucial to comprehend the clinical manifestations and auxiliary diagnostic techniques before surgical intervention.

Abstract
Aims and Objectives Thyroglossal duct cyst (TDC) is a common congenital cyst with an incidence of about 7%. Thyroglossal duct cyst carcinoma (TDCC) is a rare sequel which arises from TDC and has an incidence of about 1%. As these are rare, they do not have well-defined management guidelines. The aim of this study was to analyse the clinical profile and pathological characteristics of patients with thyroglossal duct cyst carcinoma and to propose a protocol for their treatment and follow-up. Materials and Methods A retrospective study was done from January 2000 to December 2019. All the clinical details, imaging characteristics, treatment and histopathology were analysed. Results The mean age group in our study was 37.9 years with a female preponderance. The clinical features like rapid increase in size, fixity of the lump and lymph node metastasis were not very common. Seventy-five percent of our patients who underwent imaging had suspicious characteristics. Fifty-six percent of our patients had FNAC suggestive of TDCC. Fifty percent of our patients had concomitant thyroid carcinoma. None of our patients had distant metastasis at follow-up. Conclusions TDCC is rare and a disease of young adulthood and usually has good prognosis. It may be a clinical surprise or a small lesion which can be detected with ultrasound and targeted FNAC. There is high rate of concomitant thyroid carcinoma and hence needs careful assessment. Sistrunk's procedure with total thyroidectomy either staged or simultaneously has good outcome and permits adjuvant treatment.

Abstract
Thyroglossal duct cysts (TDCs) are generally single cyst, multiple TDCs are rare. We describe a case of multiple TDCs, discuss its characteristic features and management, and provide a review of the literature, to improve clinical diagnosis and treatment. We report an extremely rare case of multiple TDCs containing five cysts, together with a review of the relevant English medical literature. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first reported case of TDCs containing more than three cysts in the anterior cervical region. The five cysts were completely excised in a Sistrunk operation. Histological examination of the cystic lesions revealed TDCs. The patient recovered well and no recurrence was found during the 6-year of follow-up. Multiple TDCs are extremely rare, and may be misdiagnosed as a single cyst. Clinicians should be aware of the possibility of multiple thyroglossal duct cysts. Adequate preoperative radiological examinations should be performed, and careful interpretation of the CT or MRI scans is important to diagnosis and surgery.

Two separate tumours-Concomitant papillary carcinoma in thyroglossal duct cyst and right thyroid lobe: Case report and review of the literature. Int J Surg Case Rep 2020; 73:257-262. Abstract
Thyroglossal duct cyst carcinoma concurrent with another thyroid gland carcinoma as two separate tumours are rare. Ultrasound scan and ultrasound-guided fine needle aspiration and cytology are useful for diagnosis and for follow up. Excision of thyroglossal duct cyst carcinoma and total thyroidectomy is ideal treatment option to facilitate future radioactive iodine ablation if required.
Introduction Malignancy of thyroglossal duct cyst (TGDC) is rare, usually as papillary carcinoma, and less frequently as squamous cell or follicular carcinoma. TGDC carcinoma can present as a mass arising from the neck, with or without compression symptoms. Papillary carcinoma in TGDC concomitant with another papillary carcinoma in the thyroid gland is extremely rare. Presentation of case : 31 years old female with a neck lump since 2 years, slowly increasing in size, with mild pain while drinking fluids, and no change of voice. No past history of neck irradiation or family history of thyroid cancers. Ultrasonography of the neck showed TGDC and right thyroid nodule. Ultrasound guided fine needle aspiration and cytology of the TGDC showed TGDC papillary carcinoma. The patient underwent Sistrunk’s procedure and total thyroidectomy. Discussion Rare case of classic papillary carcinoma arising in TGDC, concomitant with another papillary carcinoma in the right thyroid nodule. Preoperative work up included US and fine needle aspiration and cytology (FNAC). Post-operative histopathology showed papillary carcinoma in the TGDC; and another in the right thyroid lobe that was a papillary carcinoma with follicular patterns. Conclusions TGDC carcinoma concurrent with another carcinoma in the right thyroid lobe as two separate tumours are extremely rare. All patients should undergo Sistrunk’s procedure, and total thyroidectomy for the thyroid tumour. Follow-up requires thyroxine replacement therapy to treat hypothyroidism and to suppress TSH in order to prevent recurrence; and neck ultrasound and thyroglobulin tumour marker to detect recurrence if present.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Thyroglossal duct carcinoma (TDCa) is a rare malignancy. Thus, we summarized the clinical characteristics of TDCa to explore the strategy of diagnosis, surgical treatment, and prognosis of patients with papillary TDCa. CASE PRESENTATION A retrospective study was conducted about the medical records of cases with TDCa. General information including the diagnosis, surgical treatment, and prognosis of patients were obtained and analyzed. A total of 480 patients with thyroglossal duct anomalies were treated in our hospital during 1981 to 2011. Nine patients were identified as papillary TDCa and Sistrunk procedure was performed in these patients. Total thyroidectomy and selected neck dissection were performed in 3 TDCa patients with additional multiple thyroid nodules at presentation, of whom one was diagnosed as papillary thyroid carcinoma and another was found to have lymph node metastases. With a median follow-up of 119 months, all patients were alive with no recurrences or metastases. CONCLUSIONS Although the incidence of TDCa is very low, early diagnosis and surgical operation of TDCa should be performed as soon as possible. Besides, the pathological examination is the only way to confirm the diagnosis, and surgery, especially Sistrunk's procedure, is the prior choice of the treatments. In the presence of thyroid lesions or cervical lymphadenopathy, total thyroidectomy and neck dissection should be considered.
