Abstract
The new ferrocene-based metalloligand bis (N-4-[3,5-di-(2-pyridyl)-1,2,4-triazoyl])ferrocene carboxamide (L) was prepared through derivatization of 1,1′-ferrocenedicarboxylic acid with 4-amino-3,5-di(pyridyl)-4H-1,2,4-triazole. The composition and purity of L in the solid state was determined with elemental analysis, FT-IR spectroscopy, and its crystal structure with single-crystal X-ray analysis, which revealed that the substituted cyclopentadienyl rings adopt the antiperiplanar conformation and the crystal structure of L is stabilized by O–H···N and N–H···O hydrogen bonds. The molecular properties of L in solution were investigated with NMR and UV-VIS spectroscopies, and cyclic voltammetry disclosed irreversible redox behavior providing one oxidation peak at E1/2 = 1.133 V vs. SHE. Furthermore, the polymeric FeII complex {Fe(L)(C(CN)3)2}n (1) was prepared and characterized with elemental analysis, FT-IR spectroscopy, 57Fe Mössbauer spectroscopy, and magnetic measurements. The last two methods confirmed that a mixture of low- and high-spin species is present in 1; however, the spin crossover properties were absent. The presented study was also supported by theoretical calculations at the DFT/TD-DFT level of theory using TPSS and TPSSh functionals.

Abstract
Seven isostructural heterometallic luminescent (Ir,Cd) coordination polymers were prepared upon the combination of tris-chelate cationic Ir(III) complexes behaving as metalloligands with Cd(II) salts. Three octahedral Ir(III) complexes have been considered in the present report. They consist of a bipyridine unit functionalised with 3-pyridyl moieties as peripheral coordinating sites and two 2-phenylpyridyl cyclometalating derivatives. Three cadmium halide salts CdX2 (X = Cl, Br, I) were used and rearranged themselves during the self-assembly process with the metallatectons to afford a dianonic trinuclear Cd node [Cd3X8]2-. Seven out of the nine possible metallotecton-metal salt combinations could be characterised in the crystalline phase by X-ray diffraction on single crystals proving the isostructurality of the seven extended architectures studied. All of the CPs are luminescent with small shifts observed in the emission wavelength compared to the discrete complexes. Depending on the degree of fluorination of the two cyclometalating units, tuning of the emission wavelength of the discrete complexes as well as of the resulting coordination polymers is achieved.

Abstract
The chiral Cd(II) complex {[Cd(L)(CH3COO)2(H2O)]·H2O} n {L = 1,1′-[bis-3-(3-pyridyl)pyrazol-5-yl]ferrocene} has been synthesised. The Cd(II) ion is coordinated by two pyridyl nitrogen atoms, two chelating acetate anions and one water molecule, showing a distorted pentagonal-bipyramidal coordination environment. Each ligand L serves as a bisconnector, bridging two Cd atoms through its two pyridyl moieties, to afford an infinite 1D left-handed helical chain along the a-axis with a short pitch of 5.8761 (9) Å. Moreover, all of the left-handed helical chains are joined by hydrogen bonds to form a left-handed homochiral crystal.
