Abstract
Machining of the nickel-based alloy is very demanding due to its extreme mechanical properties, for example, higher fatigue strength, better corrosion and creep resistance feature, substantial work hardening capability, and appreciable tensile and shear strength. Owing to these properties, the selection of machining parameters is a major challenge for modern machining industries. Therefore, the present experimental work is carried out to select the best parametric combination of the wire electrical discharge machining (WEDM) machine for reducing machining cost and human effort. The Trapezoidal Interval Type-2 fuzzy number (T2FS) integrated Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP)-based Additive Ratio Assessment (ARAS) method is used for selecting the best WEDM process parameters of Inconel-800 superalloy. Finally, the results were compared with some existing multi-criteria decision-making methods to confirm the validity of the adopted method. The comparison shows that Type-2 Fuzzy AHP-ARAS synergy can help to formulate the problem and facilitate the assessment and ranking of WEDM process parameters when multiple criteria are jointly considered.

Abstract
Probability multi-valued neutrosophic sets (PMVNSs) can better describe the incomplete and indeterminate evaluation information, and the ELECTRE method can rank the alternatives in the light of the outranking relations among criteria. To combine their advantages, this paper introduces an extended ELECTRE method to address multi-criteria group decision-making (MCGDM) problems with the information of PMVNSs. Firstly, we introduce the definitions of PMVNSs and the classical ELECTRE method, discuss the ELECTRE-based outranking relations for PMVNSs and analyze some properties of them. Furthermore, the probability multi-valued neutrosophic ELECTRE method is developed to address MCGDM problems based on the proposed distance measure and outranking relations for PMVNSs. Finally, a typical example for logistics outsourcing provider selection is devoted to demonstrate the feasibility of the proposed approach. Moreover, the same example-based comparisons with other existing methods are carried out, the results show our proposed approach outperforms the existing methods in solving the MCGDM problems with PMVNSs.

Multiple-Attribute Decision Making ELECTRE II Method under Bipolar Fuzzy Model. ALGORITHMS 2019. [DOI: 10.3390/a12110226] [Citation(s) in RCA: 16] [Impact Index Per Article: 3.2] [Reference Citation Analysis] [Abstract] [Track Full Text] [Subscribe] [Scholar Register] [Indexed: 11/16/2022]
Abstract
The core aim of this paper is to provide a new multiple-criteria decision making (MCDM) model, namely bipolar fuzzy ELimination and Choice Translating REality (ELECTRE) II method, by combining the bipolar fuzzy set with ELECTRE II technique. It can be used to solve the problems having bipolar uncertainty. The proposed method is established by defining the concept of bipolar fuzzy strong, median and weak concordance as well as discordance sets and indifferent set to define two types of outranking relations, namely strong outranking relation and weak outranking relation. The normalized weights of criteria, which may be partly or completely unknown for decision makers, are calculated by using an optimization technique, which is based on maximizing deviation method. A systematic iterative procedure is applied to strongly outrank as well as weakly outrank graphs to determine the ranking of favorable actions or alternatives or to choose the best possible solution. The implementation of the proposed method is presented by numerical examples such as selection of business location and to chose the best supplier. A comparative analysis of proposed ELECTRE II method is also presented with already existing multiple-attribute decision making methods, including Technique for the Order of Preference by Similarity to an Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) and ELECTRE I under bipolar fuzzy environment by solving the problem of business location.

Abstract
Type-2 intuitionistic fuzzy set (T2IFS) is a powerful and important extension of the classical fuzzy set, intuitionistic fuzzy set to measure the vagueness and uncertainty. In a practical decision-making process, there always occurs an inter-relationship among the multi-input arguments. To deal with this point, the motivation of the present paper is to develop some new interval type-2 (IT2) intuitionistic fuzzy aggregation operators which can consider the multi interaction between the input argument. To achieve it, we define a symmetric triangular interval T2IFS (TIT2IFS), its operations, Hamy mean (HM) operator to aggregate the preference of the symmetric TIT2IFS and then shows its applicability through a multi-criteria decision making (MCDM). Several enviable properties and particular cases together with following different parameter values of this operator are calculated in detail. At last a numerical illustration is to given to exemplify the practicability of the proposed technique and a comparative analysis is analyzed in detail.
