Abstract
In recent years, various medical diagnosis problems have been addressed from the perspective of multi-attribute decision making. Among them, the three-way decision theory can provide a novel scheme to solve medical diagnosis issues under the framework of multi-attribute decision making via considering transforming relationships between loss functions and decision matrices. In this paper, we primarily explore a three-way decision method with tolerance dominance relations in ordered decision information systems. In existing three-way decision models, all objects can be divided into two states, we utilize decision attributes to obtain the set of two states in ordered decision information systems. Then, in order to improve the accuracy of patient classifications, the paper simultaneously considers the influence of loss and gain functions for each object, and uses loss and gain functions to obtain net profit functions as new measurement functions. Meanwhile, a class of three-way decisions in terms of multi-attribute decision making rules based on a tolerance dominance relation is established. In light of the proposed three-way decision method, we further construct a multi-attribute decision making method by using tolerance dominance relations and the constructed method is applied to a medical diagnosis issue of Lymphography. Finally, a comparison analysis and an experimental evaluation are performed to illustrate the feasibility and effectiveness of the presented methodology.

Abstract
In the sequential three-way decision model (S3WD), conditional probability and decision threshold pair are two key elements affecting the classification results. The classical model calculates the conditional probability based on the strict equivalence relationship, which limits its application in reality. In addition, little research has studied the relationship between the threshold change and its cause at different granularity levels. To deal with these deficiencies, we propose a novel sequential three-way decision model and apply it to medical diagnosis. Firstly, we propose two methods of calculating conditional probability based on similarity relation, which satisfies the property of symmetry. Then, we construct an S3WD model for a medical information system and use three different kinds of cost functions as the basis for modifying the threshold pair at each level. Subsequently, the rule of the decision threshold pair change is explored. Furthermore, two algorithms used for implementing the proposed S3WD model are introduced. Finally, extensive experiments are carried out to validate the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed model, and the results show that the model can achieve better classification performance.

Abstract
Failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) is an effective tool utilized in various fields for discovering and eliminating potential failures in products and services, which is usually implemented based on experts’ linguistic assessments. However, incomprehensive weigh information of risk factors and experts, lacking the consideration of experts’ randomness and hesitation, and incomplete risk factor system is essential challenges for the traditional FMEA model. Therefore, to properly handle these challenges and further enhance the performance of the traditional FMEA, this study develops a new FMEA strategy for assessing and ranking failures’ risks. First, a novel concept of intuitionistic fuzzy clouds (IFCs) is developed by combining the merits of the intuitionistic fuzzy set theory and the cloud model theory in manipulating uncertain information. Some basic operations and the Minkowski-type distance measure of IFCs are also presented and discussed. Further, in the proposed FMEA model, two combination weighting methods are developed to determine the synthetic weights of experts and risk factors, respectively, which consider subjectivity and objectivity simultaneously. In addition, maintenance (M) is considered as a new risk factor to enrich the assessment factor system and facilitate a more reasonable risk assessment result. Finally, a case study is implemented along with comparisons to demonstrate the feasibility and superiority of the presented FMEA model.

Abstract
AbstractFeature selection based on the fuzzy neighborhood rough set model (FNRS) is highly popular in data mining. However, the dependent function of FNRS only considers the information present in the lower approximation of the decision while ignoring the information present in the upper approximation of the decision. This construction method may lead to the loss of some information. To solve this problem, this paper proposes a fuzzy neighborhood joint entropy model based on fuzzy neighborhood self-information measure (FNSIJE) and applies it to feature selection. First, to construct four uncertain fuzzy neighborhood self-information measures of decision variables, the concept of self-information is introduced into the upper and lower approximations of FNRS from the algebra view. The relationships between these measures and their properties are discussed in detail. It is found that the fourth measure, named tolerance fuzzy neighborhood self-information, has better classification performance. Second, an uncertainty measure based on the fuzzy neighborhood joint entropy has been proposed from the information view. Inspired by both algebra and information views, the FNSIJE is proposed. Third, the K–S test is used to delete features with weak distinguishing performance, which reduces the dimensionality of high-dimensional gene datasets, thereby reducing the complexity of high-dimensional gene datasets, and then, a forward feature selection algorithm is provided. Experimental results show that compared with related methods, the presented model can select less important features and have a higher classification accuracy.

Abstract
An information system (IS) is a database that expresses relationships between objects and attributes. An IS with decision attributes is said to be a decision information system (DIS). An incomplete real-valued decision information system (IRVDIS) is a DIS based on incomplete real-valued data. This paper studies three-way decision (3WD) for incomplete real-valued data and its application. In the first place, the distance between two objects on the basis of the conditional attribute set in an IRVDIS is constructed. In the next place, the fuzzy Tcos-equivalence relation on the object set of an IRVDIS is received by means of Gaussian kernel. After that, the decision-theoretic rough set model for an IRVDIS is presented. Furthermore, the 3WD method is proposed based on this model. Lastly, to illustrate the feasibility of the proposed method, an application of the proposed method is given. It is worth mentioning that levels of risk may be determined by thresholds that can be directly acquired according to risk preference of different decision-makers, as well as the decision rule for each decision class under different levels of risk is showed in tabular forms.

Abstract
By combining interval-valued Pythagorean fuzzy sets with rough sets, the interval-valued Pythagorean fuzzy rough set model is first constructed in this paper. The connections between special interval-valued Pythagorean fuzzy relations and interval-valued Pythagorean fuzzy approximation operators are established subsequently. Then, we study the axiomatic characterizations of interval-valued Pythagorean fuzzy lower and upper approximation operators. Different axiom sets of interval-valued Pythagorean fuzzy set-theoretic operators ensure the existence of different types of interval-valued Pythagorean fuzzy relations producing the same operators. Finally, we give an example to illustrate the practical application of the newly proposed model.
