Enhancing decision-making under risks is crucial in various fields, and three-way decision (3WD) methods have been extensively utilized and proven to be effective in numerous scenarios. However, traditional methods may not be sufficient when addressing intricate decision-making scenarios characterized by uncertain and ambiguous information. In response to this challenge, the generalized intuitionistic fuzzy set (IFS) theory extends the conventional fuzzy set theory by introducing two pivotal concepts, i.e., membership degrees and non-membership degrees. These concepts offer a more comprehensive means of portraying the relationship between elements and fuzzy concepts, thereby boosting the ability to model complex problems. The generalized IFS theory brings about heightened flexibility and precision in problem-solving, allowing for a more thorough and accurate description of intricate phenomena. Consequently, the generalized IFS theory emerges as a more refined tool for articulating fuzzy phenomena. The paper offers a thorough review of the research advancements made in 3WD methods within the context of generalized intuitionistic fuzzy (IF) environments. First, the paper summarizes fundamental aspects of 3WD methods and the IFS theory. Second, the paper discusses the latest development trends, including the application of these methods in new fields and the development of new hybrid methods. Furthermore, the paper analyzes the strengths and weaknesses of research methods employed in recent years. While these methods have yielded impressive outcomes in decision-making, there are still some limitations and challenges that need to be addressed. Finally, the paper proposes key challenges and future research directions. Overall, the paper offers a comprehensive and insightful review of the latest research progress on 3WD methods in generalized IF environments, which can provide guidance for scholars and engineers in the intelligent decision-making field with situations characterized by various uncertainties.

Mixed-attitude three-way decision model for aerial targets: Threat assessment based on IF-VIKOR-GRA method

Assessing potential threats typically necessitates the use of a robust mathematical model, a comprehensive evaluation method and universal decision rules. A novel approach is utilized in this study to optimize existing threat assessment (TA) algorithms and three-way decision models (3WDMs) are leveraged that incorporate decision-theoretic rough sets (DTRSs) within dynamic intuitionistic fuzzy (IF) environments to create a mixed-attitude 3WDM based on the IF-VIKOR-GRA method in the context of aviation warfare. The primary objectives of this study include determining conditional probabilities for IF three-way decisions (3WDs) and establishing mixed-attitude decision thresholds. Both the target attribute and loss function are expressed in the form of intuitionistic fuzzy numbers (IFNs). To calculate these conditional probabilities, an IF technique is used to combine the multi-attribute decision-making (MADM) method VIKOR and the grey relational analysis (GRA) method, while also taking into account the risk-related preferences of decision-makers (DMs). Optimistic and pessimistic 3WDMs are developed from the perspectives of membership degree and non-membership degree, then subsequently integrated into the comprehensive mixed-attitude 3WDM. The feasibility and effectiveness of this methodology are demonstrated through a numerical example and by comparison to other existing approaches.

An early warning model of type 2 diabetes risk based on POI visit history and food access management

Type 2 diabetes (T2D) is a long-term, highly prevalent disease that provides extensive data support in spatial-temporal user case data mining studies. In this paper, we present a novel T2D food access early risk warning model that aims to emphasize health management awareness among susceptible populations. This model incorporates the representation of T2D-related food categories with graph convolutional networks (GCN), enabling the diet risk visualization from the geotagged Twitter visit records on a map. A long short-term memory (LSTM) module is used to enhance the performance of the case temporal feature extraction and location approximate predictive approach. Through an analysis of the resulting data set, we highlight the food effect category has on T2D early risk visualization and user food access management on the map. Moreover, our proposed method can provide suggestions to T2D susceptible patients on diet management.

STIF: Intuitionistic fuzzy Gaussian membership function with statistical transformation weight of evidence and information value for private information preservation

Data sharing to the multiple organizations are essential for analysis in many situations. The shared data contains the individual's private and sensitive information and results in privacy breach. To overcome the privacy challenges, privacy preserving data mining (PPDM) has progressed as a solution. This work addresses the problem of PPDM by proposing statistical transformation with intuitionistic fuzzy (STIF) algorithm for data perturbation. The STIF algorithm contains statistical methods weight of evidence, information value and intuitionistic fuzzy Gaussian membership function. The STIF algorithm is applied on three benchmark datasets adult income, bank marketing and lung cancer. The classifier models decision tree, random forest, extreme gradient boost and support vector machines are used for accuracy and performance analysis. The results show that the STIF algorithm achieves 99% of accuracy for adult income dataset and 100% accuracy for both bank marketing and lung cancer datasets. Further, the results highlights that the STIF algorithm outperforms in data perturbation capacity and privacy preserving capacity than the state-of-art algorithms without any information loss on both numerical and categorical data.
