Abstract
Advancements in respiratory and nutrition management have significantly improved the survival of patients with cystic fibrosis (CF). With the availability of several nutrition interventions such as oral/enteral nutrition supplements, enteric‐coated pancreatic enzymes, and water‐miscible CF‐specific vitamin supplements, frank vitamin deficiencies—with the exception of vitamin D—are rarely encountered in current clinical practice. Whereas they were previously considered as micronutrients, our current understanding of fat‐soluble vitamins and minerals as antioxidants, immunomodulators, and disease biomarkers has been evolving. The impact of highly effective modulators on the micronutrient status of patients with CF remains elusive. This narrative review focuses on the updates on the management of fat‐soluble vitamins and other micronutrients in CF in the current era and identifies the gaps in our knowledge.

Abstract
Dermatitis as an initial manifestation of cystic fibrosis (CF) is unusual. The eruption is usually first noted in the perineum anywhere from several days to few months after birth. It subsequently spreads to the extremities and trunk. We report a 2-month-old male baby who presented with failure to thrive, hypoproteinemia, anemia, and a cutaneous eruption resembling acrodermatitis enteropathica. Oral zinc supplementation resulted in temporary resolution of the dermatitis. A further workup revealed the diagnosis of CF. The rash was responsive to nutritional and pancreatic enzyme supplementation.

Abstract
Erythroderma (exfoliative dermatitis) is associated with important metabolic changes that include an enhancement in energy expenditure. The key components to total energy expenditure (TEE) include basal metabolic rate (~68% of TEE), physical activity (~22% of TEE) and thermic effect of food (~10% of TEE). In the erythrodermic state, there are likely multiple contributors to the increase in basal metabolic rate, such as 'caloric drain' resulting from increased evaporation of water from enhanced transepidermal water loss, increased activity of the cardiovascular system (including high-output cardiac failure), increased nonshivering thermogenesis and hormonal changes such as hypercortisolaemia. A change in the patient's level of physical activity and appetite as a result of ill health status may further impact on their TEE and energy consumption. In Part 2 of this two-part concise review, we explore the key constituents of energy homeostasis and the potential mechanisms influencing energy homeostasis in erythroderma, and suggest much-needed dietetic management strategies for this important condition.

Abstract
Children with oedematous malnutrition, known as kwashiorkor, may develop a characteristic skin lesion, named 'Dermatosis of Kwashiorkor' (DoK). Only a few studies have been concerned with this condition, and the reason for the development of DoK remains unexplained. This study review the existing studies concerning DoK, including its clinical manifestations, histopathology, suggested pathophysiology, current treatment and prognosis for children of the age of 6 months to 5 years. Standardized clinical studies are needed to further understand the implications of DoK. Such studies would suffer from the lack of consistency concerning the terminology and scoring of the lesions in DoK. We therefore stress the need for a standardized scoring of the degree of DoK. This would facilitate valid and comparable studies and the development of better treatment for this vulnerable group of patients.

Abstract
Presentation of cystic fibrosis (CF) with an acrodermatitis enteropathica-like skin rash, anemia, and hypoproteinemia without pulmonary disease is rarely reported before. We describe an 11-month-old boy with rash and edema as the presenting signs of cystic fibrosis. The interesting additional finding in our patient was the graying hair after 3 months of age. A reversal of the gray hair was observed by pancreatic enzyme replacement therapy. In conclusion, acrodermatitis-like eruption and hypoproteinemia can be a presenting sign of CF. Graying hair has not been noticed so far as a sign of CF in these patients.

Abstract
A 4-month-old boy was admitted for having diffuse eruption in the perianal region, legs, trunk hands, and face with failure to thrive, edema, hypoalbuminemia, and anemia. The patient was thought to have acrodermatitis enteropathica-like eruption due to malabsorption. The eruption completely resolved with enzyme supplement and proper nutrition and skin care.

Abstract
Cystic fibrosis is an autosomal recessive disease reported in 1 in 2500 live births in Northern American and Northern European Caucasian populations. Classic disease findings include chronic bacterial infection of airways and sinuses, malabsorption of fat, infertility in men, and elevated concentrations of chloride in sweat. Less well-recognized findings associated with cystic fibrosis include cutaneous findings, which can be primary or secondary manifestations of the disease process. Patients demonstrate more atopic and drug hypersensitivity reactions than the general population, but have similar rates of urticaria compared with the general population. In atypical presentations of cystic fibrosis, the nutrient deficiency dermatitis of the disease may aid with diagnosis, and notably can be the presenting sign. Other dermatologic manifestations of cystic fibrosis include early aquagenic skin wrinkling and cutaneous vasculitis, which can be associated with arthralgias. Familiarity with the nutrient deficiency dermatitis of this entity may play a role in the timely diagnosis of the disease, and the other cutaneous findings add to our understanding of the protean nature of its manifestations.
