Abstract
Thin-film fluorescent chemosensors, characterized by their tunable design, high selectivity, and exceptional sensitivity, hold significant promise for gas detection applications. However, the simultaneous realization of the 3S attributes (sensitivity, selectivity, and stability) remains a formidable challenge, particularly in the underexplored field of near-infrared (NIR) gas detection. In this work, we employ an acceptor-donor-acceptor (A-D-A) molecular design strategy to drive the development of an organic semiconductor fluorescent material with a progressive red shift in the emission wavelength. As a result, we synthesized C8-IDTT-IC, a NIR fluorescent thin film with a peak emission at 790 nm. In contrast to conventional visible fluorescent materials, this NIR material demonstrates excellent resistance to background light interference and optical damage, particularly in the detection of biogenic amines. Systematic evaluations reveal that the material achieves remarkable selectivity, with a detection limit as low as 116 ppb, a rapid response time of less than 30 s, and an optical damage rate of only 3% over 1800 s. The practical utility of this material is further exemplified by its integration into a hand-held detector, enabling real-time monitoring of spoilage in beef and fish samples, showcasing its potential for real-world applications.

Abstract
Food quality and safety are related to the health and safety of people, and food hazards are important influencing factors affecting food safety. It is strongly necessary to develop food safety rapid detection technology to ensure food safety. As a new detection technology, artificial nanochannel-based electrochemical and other methods have the advantages of being real-time, simple, and sensitive and are widely used in the detection of food hazards. In this paper, we review artificial nanochannel sensors as a new detection technology in food safety for different types of food hazards: biological hazards (bacteria, toxins, viruses) and chemical hazards (heavy metals, organic pollutants, food additives). At the same time, we critically discuss the advantages and disadvantages of artificial nanochannel sensor detection, as well as the restrictions and solutions of detection, and finally look forward to the challenges and development prospects of food safety detection technology based on the limitations of artificial nanochannel detection. We expect to provide a theoretical basis and inspiration for the development of rapid real-time detection technology for food hazards and the production of portable detection equipment in the future.

This review not only elucidates the current state of knowledge but also identifies avenues for future research, thereby serving as a valuable resource for researchers and enthusiasts in the field of fluorescence chemistry with a focus on Te-based molecules. By highlighting challenges and prospects, this review sparks a conversation on the transformative potential of Te-containing compounds across different fields, ranging from environmental solutions to healthcare and materials science applications. This review aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of the distinct fluorescence behaviors exhibited by Te-containing compounds, contributing valuable insights to the evolving landscape of chalcogen-based fluorescence research.

Abstract
The misuse of chemicals in agricultural systems and food production leads to an increase in contaminants in food, which ultimately has adverse effects on human health. This situation has prompted a demand for sophisticated detection technologies with rapid and sensitive features, as concerns over food safety and quality have grown around the globe. The rare earth ion-doped upconversion nanoparticle (UCNP)-based sensor has emerged as an innovative and promising approach for detecting and analyzing food contaminants due to its superior photophysical properties, including low autofluorescence background, deep penetration of light, low toxicity, and minimal photodamage to the biological samples. The aim of this review was to discuss an outline of the applications of UCNPs to detect contaminants in food matrices, with particular attention on the determination of heavy metals, pesticides, pathogenic bacteria, mycotoxins, and antibiotics. The review briefly discusses the mechanism of upconversion (UC) luminescence, the synthesis, modification, functionality of UCNPs, as well as the detection principles for the design of UC biosensors. Furthermore, because current UCNP research on food safety detection is still at an early stage, this review identifies several bottlenecks that must be overcome in UCNPs and discusses the future prospects for its application in the field of food analysis.
