Abstract
A BODIPY-containing conjugated microporous polymer (CMP, LBFD-1) was modified with calixarene to develop a hydrophilic CMP (LBFD-2) with broader absorption extending to the near-infrared-II region. LBFD-2 exhibited an H2O2 production rate of 2.14 mmol g-1 h-1 in the air without any sacrificial agents. The removal efficiency (η) of LBFD-2 towards methylene blue and rhodamine B reached >99.5% within 20 and 40 min in light. LBFD-2 can withstand diverse environmental changes, showing excellent reusability and potential for practical applications in real-water systems.

Abstract
Confronting the environmental threat posed by textile dyes, this study highlights bioremediation as a pivotal solution to mitigate the impacts of Crystal Violet, a widely-utilized triphenylmethane dye known for its mutagenic and mitotic toxicity. We isolated and identified several bacterial strains capable of degrading Crystal Violet under various environmental conditions. Newly identified strains, including Mycolicibacterium nivoides, Chryseobacterium sp., Agrobacterium rhizogenes, Pseudomonas crudilactis, and Pseudomonas koreensis demonstrated significant decolorization activity of Crystal Violet, complementing the already known capabilities of Stenotrophomonas maltophilia. Initial experiments using crude extracts confirmed their degradation potential, followed by detailed studies that investigated the impact of different pH levels and temperatures on some strains' degradation efficiency. Depending on the bacteria, the degree of activity change according to pH and temperature was different. At 37 °C, Chryseobacterium sp. and Stenotrophomonas maltophilia exhibited higher degradation activity compared to 25 °C, while Pseudomonas crudilactis and Mycolicibacterium nivoides did not exhibit a statistically significant difference between the two temperatures. Mycolicibacterium nivoides performed optimally at pH 8, while Pseudomonas crudilactis showed high activity at pH 5. Stenotrophomonas maltophilia's activity remained consistent across the pH range. These findings not only underscore the effectiveness of these bacteria as agents for Crystal Violet degradation but also pave the way for their application in large-scale bioremediation processes for the treatment of textile effluents, marking them as vital to environmental sustainability efforts.

Abstract
Textile effluents containing toxic dyes must be treated effectively before discharge to prevent adverse environmental impacts. Traditional physical and chemical treatment methods are costly and generate secondary pollutants. In contrast, biological treatment is a more suitable, clean, versatile, eco-friendly, and cost-effective technique for treating textile effluent. It is well established that indigenous microbial populations present in effluents can effectively degrade toxic dyes. In this regard, Achromobacter xylosoxidans DDB6 was isolated from the effluent sample to decolorize crystal violet (CV), Coomassie brilliant blue (CBB), and alizarin red (AR) by 67.20%, 28.58%, and 20.41%, respectively. The growth parameters of A. xylosoxidans DDB6 in media supplemented with 100 ppm of various dyes were determined using the modified Gompertz growth model. The immobilized cells in calcium alginate beads showed apparent decolorization rate constant of 0.27, 0.18, and 0.13 h-1 for CV, CBB, and AR, respectively. The immobilized cells in a packed bed reactor with an optimum flow rate of 0.5 mL/min were used to treat 100 ppm of CV with a percentage decolorization of 79.47% after three cycles. Based on the findings, A. xylosoxidans DDB6 could be effectively used for decolorization of various dyes.

Abstract
Based on TiO2 nanorod arrays@PDA/Ag (TNRs@PDA/Ag), a better surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) sensor with effective enrichment and enhancement was investigated for duplex SERS detection of illicit food dyes. Biomimetic PDA functions as binary mediators by utilizing the structural characteristics of polydopamine (PDA), which include the conjugated structure and abundant hydrophilic groups. One PDA functioned as an electron transfer mediator to enhance the efficiency of electron transfer, and the other as an enrichment mediator to effectively enrich rhodamine B (RhB) and crystal violet (CV) through hydrogen bonding, π-π stacking, and electrostatic interactions. Individual and duplex detection of illicit food dyes (RhB and CV) was performed using TNRs@PDA/Ag to estimate SERS applications. Their linear equations and limits of detection of 1 nM for RhB and 5 nM for CV were derived. Individual and duplex food colour detection was successfully accomplished even in genuine chili meal with good results. The bifunctional TNRs@PDA/Ag-based highly sensitive and duplex SERS dye detection will have enormous potential for food safety monitoring.

Abstract
Enzymes immobilized on the surface of the carriers are difficult to maintain their conformation and high activity due to the influence of the external harsh environments. A biomimetic core-shell PDA@Lac bioreactor was constructed by depositing polydopamine (PDA) on the surface of the recombinant Escherichia coli with CotA laccase gene, and releasing intracellular laccase into the PDA shell using ultrasound to break the cell wall of the bacteria. The bioreactor provided a nano-confined environment for the laccase and accelerated the mass and electron transfer in the volume-confined space, with a 2.77-fold increase in Km compared with the free laccase. Since there was no barrier of the cell wall, the crystal violet dye can enter the bioreactor to participate in the enzymatic reaction. As a result, PDA@Lac achieved excellent decolorization performance even without ABTS as an electron mediator. Moreover, the cytoplasmic solution retained in the PDA shell promoted the enzyme's tolerance to pH, temperature and harsh environments. In addition to PDA encapsulation, carbonyl and -NH2 groups of PDA were bound covalently with -NH2 and -COOH on the laccase in the PDA@Lac, resulting in an extremely high laccase loading of 817.59 mg/g. Also, the relative activity of the bioreactor maintained approximately 75% after 10 cycles of reuse. In addition, the protection of the PDA shell increased the resistance of laccase to UV irradiation. This work provides a novel method of laccase immobilization for application in wastewater treatment.

Abstract
Laccases highlight for xenobiotic bioremediation, as well as application in the fine chemical, textile, biofuel and food industries. In a previous work, we described the preliminary characterization of laccase LacMeta, a promising enzyme for the bioremediation of dyes, able to decolorization malachite green (MG), trypan blue, methylene blue. Here we demonstrate that LacMeta is indeed suitable for the complete degradation and detoxification of MG dye, not just for its discoloration, since some works show false positives due to the formation of colorless intermediates such as leucomalachite. The optimal pH and temperature parameters of LacMeta were 5.0 and 50 °C, respectively (MG as substrate). LacMeta was tolerant of up to 10 mmol L- 1 EDTA (82%) and up to 5% (V/V) acetone (91%) and methanol (71%), while SDS promoted severe inhibition. For ions, a high tolerance to cobalt, zinc, manganese, and calcium (10 mmol L- 1) was also observed (> 90%). Even under high-salinity conditions (1 mol L- 1 NaCl), the residual bleaching activity of the dye remained at 61%. Furthermore, the bleaching product of MG did not inhibit the germination of sorghum and tomato seeds and was inert to the vegetative structures of the germinated seedlings. Additionally, this treatment effectively reduced the cytotoxic effect of the dye on microorganisms (Escherichia coli and Azospirillum brasilense), which can be explained by H-NMR spectral analysis results since LacMeta completely degraded the peak signals corresponding to the aromatic rings in the dye, demonstrating extreme efficiency in the bioremediation of the xenobiotic at high concentrations (50 mg L- 1).

Abstract
Laccase, an important oxidoreductase, is widely distributed in various organisms. Termites are known to decompose lignocellulose efficiently with the aid of gut microorganisms. However, few laccases have been characterized from termite or its gut microbes. We aimed to screen the strain capable of degrading lignocellulose from fungus-growing termites. In this study, Bacillus stratosphericus BCMC2 with lignocellulolytic activity was firstly isolated from the hindgut of fungus-growing termite Macrotermes barneyi. The laccase gene (BaCotA) was cloned both from the BCMC2 strain and termite intestinal metagenomic DNA. BaCotA was overexpressed in E. coli, and the recombinant BaCotA showed high specific activity (554.1 U/mg). BaCotA was thermostable with an optimum temperature of 70 °C, pH 5.0. Furthermore, BaCotA was resistant to alkali and organic solvents. The enzyme remained more than 70% residual activity at pH 8.0 for 120 min; and the organic solvents such as methanol, ethanol and acetone (10%) had no inhibitory effect on laccase activity. Additionally, BaCotA exhibited efficient decolorization ability towards indigo and crystal violet. The multiple enzymatic properties suggested the presented laccase as a potential candidate for industrial applications. Moreover, this study highlighted that termite intestine is a good resource for either new strains or enzymes.
