Abstract
With the emergence of penicillin resistance, the development of novel antibiotics has become an urgent necessity. Semi-synthetic penicillin has emerged as a promising alternative to traditional penicillin. The demand for the crucial intermediate, 6-aminopicillanic acid (6-APA), is on the rise. Enzyme catalysis is the primary method employed for its production. However, due to certain limitations, the strategy of enzyme immobilization has also gained prominence. The magnetic Ni0.4Cu0.5Zn0.1Fe2O4 nanoparticles were successfully prepared by a rapid-combustion method. Sodium silicate was used to modify the surface of the Ni0.4Cu0.5Zn0.1Fe2O4 nanoparticles to obtain silica-coated nanoparticles (Ni0.4Cu0.5Zn0.1Fe2O4-SiO2). Subsequently, in order to better crosslink PGA, the nanoparticles were modified again with glutaraldehyde to obtain glutaraldehyde crosslinked Ni0.4Cu0.5Zn0.1Fe2O4-SiO2-GA nanoparticles which could immobilize the PGA. The structure of the PGA protein was analyzed by the PyMol program and the immobilization strategy was determined. The conditions of PGA immobilization were investigated, including immobilization time and PGA concentration. Finally, the enzymological properties of the immobilized and free PGA were compared. The optimum catalytic pH of immobilized and free PGA was 8.0, and the optimum catalytic temperature of immobilized PGA was 50°C, 5°C higher than that of free PGA. Immobilized PGA in a certain pH and temperature range showed better catalytic stability. Vmax and Km of immobilized PGA were 0.3727 μmol·min-1 and 0.0436 mol·L-1, and the corresponding free PGA were 0.7325 μmol·min-1 and 0.0227 mol·L-1. After five cycles, the immobilized enzyme activity was still higher than 25%.

Abstract
Mesoporous molecular sieve SBA-15 was successfully modified with 3-aminopropyltriethoxysilane (APTES) and 3-glycidyloxypropyltrimethoxysilane (GPTMS). The functionalized SBA-15 were characterized by small-angle X-ray (SAXRD), thermogravimetric analysis (TG), N2 adsorption, and Fourier transformed infrared spectrum (FT-IR). APTES functionalized SBA-15 (named SBA-15-A) and GPTMS functionalized SBA-15 (named SBA-15-G) were used to immobilize myoglobin (Mb). The loading amounts of Mb by SBA-15-A and SBA-15-G were 511.2 and 547.8 mg/g, respectively, whereas only 359.6 mg/g was achieved by SBA-15. Mb/SBA-15-G and Mb/SBA-15-A demonstrated better reusability than SBA-15, retaining 84.6% and 82.7% of the initial activity after repeated use seven times. The Mb/SBA-15-A and Mb/SBA-15-G also exhibited improved thermal stability and storage stability.

Abstract
AbstractThe field of nanobiocatalysis has experienced a rapid growth due to recent advances in nanotechnology. However, biocatalytic processes are often limited by the lack of stability of the enzymes and their short lifetime. Therefore, immobilization is key to the successful implementation of industrial processes based on enzymes. Immobilization of enzymes on functionalized nanostructured materials could give higher stability to nanobiocatalysts while maintaining free enzyme activity and easy recyclability under various conditions. This review will discuss recent developments in nanobiocatalysis to improve the stability of the enzyme using various nanostructured materials such as mesoporous materials, nanofibers, nanoparticles, nanotubes, and individual nanoparticles enzymes. Also, this review summarizes the recent evolution of nanostructured biocatalysts with an emphasis on those formed with polymers. Based on the synthetic procedures used, established methods fall into two important categories: “grafting onto” and “grafting from”. The fundamentals of each method in enhancing enzyme stability and the use of these new nanobiocatalysts as tools for different applications in different areas are discussed.

Abstract
The present work aimed to magnetize Parkia pendula seeds gum and use it as a matrix for Concanavalin A covalent immobilization. This composite was applied in affinity purification of glycoconjugates. Parkia pendula seeds were hydrated and the gum provenient from the supernatant was precipitated and washed with ethanol and dried. The gum was magnetized in co-precipitation using solutions of Fe+2 and Fe+3. Matrix activation was accomplished with NaIO4. Magnetized Parkia pendula seeds gum with covalently immobilized Concanavalin A was used as an affinity matrix for the recognition of bovine serum fetuin glycoprotein. Fetuin elution was carried out with a solution of glucose (300mM) and evaluated through SDS-PAGE. The efficiency of lectin immobilization and fetuin purification were 63% and 14%, respectively. These results indicate that the composite produced is a promising magnetic polysaccharide matrix for lectins immobilization. Thus, such system can be applied for affinity purification allowing an easy recovery by magnetic field.

Abstract
The current demands of the world’s biotechnological industries are enhancement in enzyme productivity and development of novel techniques for increasing their shelf life. These requirements are inevitable to facilitate large-scale and economic formulation. Enzyme immobilization provides an excellent base for increasing availability of enzyme to the substrate with greater turnover over a considerable period of time. Several natural and synthetic supports have been assessed for their efficiency for enzyme immobilization. Nowadays, immobilized enzymes are preferred over their free counterpart due to their prolonged availability that curtails redundant downstream and purification processes. Future investigations should endeavor at adopting logistic and sensible entrapment techniques along with innovatively modified supports to improve the state of enzyme immobilization and provide new perspectives to the industrial sector.

Abstract
Various types of glucoamylases were prepared to modulate their biospecific interaction with Concanavalin A. Glucoamylase Glm was isolated from the native yeast strain Saccharomycopsis fibuligera IFO 0111. Two glycosylated recombinant glucoamylases Glu's of S. fibuligera HUT 7212 were expressed and isolated from the strains Saccharomyces cerevisiae and one, nonglycosylated, from Escherichia coli. The biospecific affinity of those preparations to Concanavalin A was investigated and compared with the commercially available fungal glucoamylase GA from Aspergillus niger. All glycosylated enzymes showed affinity to Concanavalin A characterized by their precipitation courses and by the equilibration dissociation constants within the range from 1.43 to 4.17 x 10(-6) M (determined by SPR method). The results suggested some differences in the interaction of Con A with the individual glucoamylases. The highest affinity to Con A showed GA. The recombinant glucoamylase Glu with the higher content of the saccharides was comprised by two binding sites with the different affinity. The glucoamylases with the lowest affinity (Glm and Glu with a lower content of saccharides) also demonstrated a nonspecific interaction with Con A in the precipitation experiments. The minimal differences between the individual glucoamylases were determined by the inhibition experiments with methyl-alpha-d-mannopyranoside.
