Abstract
Seeking organic cathode materials with low cost and long cycle life that can be employed for large-scale energy storage remains a significant challenge. This work has synthesized an organic compound, triphenazino[2,3-b](1,4,5,8,9,12-hexaazatriphenylene) (TPHATP), with as high as 87.16% yield. This compound has a highly π-conjugated and rigid molecular structure, which is synthesized by capping hexaketocyclohexane with three molecules of 2,3-diaminophenazine derived from low-cost o-phenylenediamine, and is used as a cathode material for assembling aqueous rechargeable zinc ion batteries. Both experiments and DFT calculations demonstrate that the redox mechanism of TPHATP is predominantly governed by H+ storage. The Zn-intercalation product of nitride-type compound, is too unstable to form in water. Moreover, the TPHATP cathode exhibits a capacity of as high as 318.3 mAh g-1 at 0.1 A g-1, and maintained a stable capacity of 111.9 mAh g-1 at a large current density of 10 A g-1 for 5000 cycles with only a decay of 0.000512% per cycle. This study provides new insights into understanding pyrazine as an active redox group and offers a potential affordable aqueous battery system for grid-scale energy storage.

Intermediate Transfer Rates and Solid-State Ion Exchange are Key Factors Determining the Bifunctionality of In 2O 3/HZSM-5 Tandem CO 2 Hydrogenation Catalyst. ACS SUSTAINABLE CHEMISTRY & ENGINEERING 2024; 12:5197-5210. Abstract
Identifying the descriptors for the synergistic catalytic activity of bifunctional oxide-zeolite catalysts constitutes a formidable challenge in realizing the potential of tandem hydrogenation of CO2 to hydrocarbons (HC) for sustainable fuel production. Herein, we combined CH3OH synthesis from CO2 and H2 on In2O3 and methanol-to-hydrocarbons (MTH) conversion on HZSM-5 and discerned the descriptors by leveraging the distance-dependent reactivity of bifunctional In2O3 and HZSM-5 admixtures. We modulated the distance between redox sites of In2O3 and acid sites of HZSM-5 from milliscale (∼10 mm) to microscale (∼300 μm) and observed a 3-fold increase in space-time yield of HC and CH3OH (7.5 × 10-5 molC gcat-1 min-1 and 2.5 × 10-5 molC gcat-1 min-1, respectively), due to a 10-fold increased rate of CH3OH advection (1.43 and 0.143 s-1 at microscale and milliscale, respectively) from redox to acid sites. Intriguingly, despite the potential of a three-order-of-magnitude enhanced CH3OH transfer at a nanoscale distance (∼300 nm), the sole product formed was CH4. Our reactivity data combined with Raman, Fourier transform infrared (FTIR), and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) revealed the occurrence of solid-state-ion-exchange (SSIE) between acid sites and Inδ+ ions, likely forming In2O moieties, inhibiting C-C coupling and promoting CH4 formation through CH3OH hydrodeoxygenation (HDO). Density functional theory (DFT) calculations further revealed that CH3OH adsorption on the In2O moiety with preadsorbed and dissociated H2 forming an H-In-OH-In moiety is the likely reaction mechanism, with the kinetically relevant step appearing to be the hydrogenation of the methyl species. Overall, our study revealed that efficient CH3OH transfer and prevention of ion exchange are the key descriptors in achieving catalytic synergy in bifunctional In2O3/HZSM-5 systems.

Abstract
Zeolites, a group of minerals with unique properties, have been known for more than 250 years. However, it was the development of methods for hydrothermal synthesis of zeolites and their large-scale industrial applications (oil processing, agriculture, production of detergents and building materials, water treatment processes, etc.) that made them one of the most important materials of the 20th century, with great practical and research significance. The orderly, homogeneous crystalline and porous structure of zeolites, their susceptibility to various modifications, and their useful physicochemical properties contribute to the continuous expansion of their practical applications in both large-volume processes (ion exchange, adsorption, separation of mixture components, catalysis) and specialized ones (sensors). The following review of the knowledge available in the literature on zeolites aims to present the most important information on the properties, synthesis methods, and selected applications of this group of aluminosilicates. Special attention is given to the use of zeolites in agriculture and environmental protection.

Abstract
Sodium ion batteries (SIBs) are expected to replace lithium ion batteries (LIBs) as the next generation of large-scale energy storage applications because of their superior cost performance. However, the larger ionic radius of Na+ causes a remarkable volume expansion than that of Li+ during charge and discharge, which reduces the performance of the battery. In this work, we engineered a composite material in that monodispersed 2 nm Sb2S3 particles are uniformly loaded into a carbon matrix (Sb2S3/CZM), which is obtained by carbonization of a zirconium-based MOF with adsorption of Sb. The obtained composite material has a high specific surface area in favor of mass transfer, and the porous structure can resist many volume changes in the circulation process. Moreover, the ultrafine Sb2S3 particles are well-distributed in the composite material, which increases the utilization of the active substance and is promising for the storage of Na+. Based on its unique structure, the Sb2S3/CZM composite shows a specific capacity of 550 mA h g-1 at 100 mA g-1 and an excellent cycling stability of 88.9% retention after 1000 cycles at 3 A g-1. The excellent electrochemical performance provides enlightenment for the rational design of hierarchical heterostructures for energy storage applications.

Abstract
Semi-hydrogenation usually requires an effective catalyst to ensure selectivity, especially when reducible groups coexist in a molecule. Pd is widely used in the semi-hydrogenation of alkynes to synthesize alkenes, but...
