Abstract
One-pot means was performed for the rapid preparation of copper nanoclusters (Cu NCs), which were employed as a fluorescence system for the sensitive apigenin measurement in pharmaceutical samples. Herein, CuCl2 aqueous solution was reduced to Cu NCs through ascorbic acid and the Cu NCs were protected through trypsin under 65 ℃ for 4 h. The entire preparation process was rapid, facile and environmentally friendly. The trypsin-capped Cu NCs were demonstrated through ultraviolet-visible spectroscopy, fluorescence spectroscopy, transmission electron microscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and fluorescence lifetime, respectively. The Cu NCs revealed blue fluorescence with emission wavelength around 465 nm under the excitation wavelength of 380 nm. The fluorescence weakening feature of Cu NCs with apigenin was observed. On this basis, a facile and sensitive turn-off fluorescent nanoprobe for the sensing of apigenin in real samples was developed. The logarithm of relative fluorescence intensity revealed a good linear relationship with apigenin contents from 0.5 μM to 300 μM with the detection limit of 0.079 μM. The Cu NCs-based fluorescent nanosensor have been employed to measure the apigenin amounts in real samples such as medical saline, bovine and human serum. The results revealed excellent potential of this Cu NCs-based fluorescent nanoprobe for the convention computation of apigenin amounts in real samples.

Abstract
Hollow-fiber liquid-phase microextraction (HF-LPME) and electromembrane extraction (EME) are miniaturized extraction techniques, and have been coupled with various analytical instruments for trace analysis of heavy metals, drugs and other organic compounds, in recent years. HF-LPME and EME provide high selectivity, efficient sample cleanup and enrichment, and reduce the consumption of organic solvents to a few micro-liters per sample. HF-LPME and EME are compatible with different analytical instruments for chromatography, electrophoresis, atomic spectroscopy, mass spectrometry, and electrochemical detection. HF-LPME and EME have gained significant popularity during the recent years. This review focuses on hollow fiber based techniques (especially HF-LPME and EME) of heavy metals and pharmaceuticals (published 2017 to May 2019), and their combinations with atomic spectroscopy, UV-VIS spectrophotometry, high performance liquid chromatography, gas chromatography, capillary electrophoresis, and voltammetry.

Abstract
This work describes a new extraction method with hollow-fiber liquid-phase microextraction based on facilitated pH gradient transport for analyzing hippuric acid and mandelic acid in aqueous samples. The factors affecting the metabolites extraction were optimized as follows: the volume of sample solution was 10 mL with pH 2 containing 0.5 mol·L−1 sodium chloride, liquid membrane containing 1-octanol with 20% (w/v) tributyl phosphate as the carrier, the time of extraction was 150 min, and stirring rate was 500 rpm. The organic phase immobilized in the pores of a hollow fiber was back-extracted into 24 µL of a solution containing sodium carbonate with pH 11, which was placed inside the lumen of the fiber. Under optimized conditions, the high enrichment factors of 172 and 195 folds, detection limit of 0.007 and 0.009 µg·mL−1 were obtained. The relative standard deviation (RSD) (%) values for intra- and inter-day precisions were calculated at 2.5%–8.2% and 4.1%–10.7%, respectively. The proposed method was successfully applied to the analysis of these metabolites in real urine samples. The results indicated that hollow-fiber liquid-phase microextraction (HF-LPME) based on facilitated pH gradient transport can be used as a sensitive and effective method for the determination of mandelic acid and hippuric acid in urine specimens.

Abstract
The recent developments in hollow fiber liquid phase microextraction and dispersive liquid –liquid microextraction are reviewed. Applications of these newly emerging developments in extraction and preconcentration of a vast category of compounds including heavy metals, pesticides, pharmaceuticals and abused drugs in complex matrices (environmental and biological matrices) are reviewed and discussed. The new developments in these techniques including the use of solvents lighter than water, ionic liquids and supramolecular solvents are also considered. Applications of these new solvents reduce the use of toxic solvents and eliminate the centrifugation step, which reduces the extraction time.

Abstract
CONTEXT Satureja (Lamiaceae) species are used as flavoring compounds in food, pharmaceutical, and cosmetic industries because of its sweetness and simple cultivation characteristics. They have traditionally been used as muscle pain relievers, tonic, and carminative agents to treat stomach and intestinal disorders such as cramps, nausea, indigestion, and diarrhea, due to their considerable phytochemical characteristics. OBJECTIVE This review evaluates some information published since 1989 on Satureja genus from a systematic perspective in terms of its pharmacological and phytochemical characteristics. MATERIALS AND METHODS Web of Science, PubMed, Scopus, and Google Scholar databases were searched up to March 2014. "Satureja" was used as a research term without narrowing or limiting research elements. After obtaining all reports from database (a total number is about 637), the papers were carefully analyzed in order to find data related to the topic of this review. RESULTS In this review, 453 reports were used which were published between 1989 and 2014. The study was compiled into two sections (Pharmacology and Phytochemistry). In the pharmacology section, more than 50 different activities were studied. In the second section, in addition to other compounds and inorganic substances, volatiles, phenolic acids, and flavonoids were discussed. DISCUSSION AND CONCLUSION According to our contemporary information, Satureja species have been evaluated for their wide range of biological activities. However, a small part of these studies have been carried out on the active principles. Therefore, in the future, more studies should be carried out to identify responsible phytochemicals for the various activities.

Abstract
The objective of the present study was to develop a new method for the simultaneous quantitation of imperatorin and its metabolite xanthotoxol in rat plasma. The samples were prepared with hollow fiber liquid phase microextraction (HF-LPME). The optimized extraction procedure was acquired by assessing extraction solvent, length of the fiber, agitation rate, extraction temperature and time. A comparison of sample pretreatment ways between HF-LPME and deproteinization with methanol was performed, which demonstrated less ion suppression and better sensitivity of HF-LPME. Analytes were separated on a C18 column with a gradient elution consisted of methanol and water containing 1mmol/L ammonium acetate. The detection was accomplished by electrospray ionization (ESI) source operating in the positive ionization mode. Selected-multiple-reaction monitoring (SMRM) scanning was employed, which guaranteed a higher sensitivity compared with MRM mode. Calibration curves were linear over investigated ranges with correlation coefficients greater than 0.9979. Precision varied from 0.26% to 14%, and the accuracy varied within ±5.5%. The developed method was successfully applied to the pharmacokinetic research of imperatorin and its metabolite xanthotoxol after oral administration of imperatorin to rats.
