Abstract
Modulating the electronic structure of platinum (Pt) through a support is an important strategy for enhancing its electrocatalytic properties. In this work, to explore the impact of support electronegativity on Pt's catalytic activity for hydrogen evolution, we chose diverse metals with varying electronegativities that are stable in acidic solutions, such as titanium (Ti), molybdenum (Mo), and tungsten (W), as supports. Ti is the optimal support according to density functional theory (DFT) calculations. As expected, the Pt@Ti catalyst demonstrated remarkable efficiency in the hydrogen evolution reaction (HER), displaying a minimal overpotential of 13 mV at -10 mA cm-2, a Tafel slope of 34.5 mV dec-1, and sustained durability over 110 h in a 0.5 M H2SO4 solution. To unravel the metal-support interaction (MSI) between Pt and Ti, a comprehensive exploration encompassing both experimental investigations and DFT calculations was undertaken. The results elucidate that the outstanding HER performance of Pt@Ti stems from robust synergies forged between Pt and Ti atoms within the Ti support. This work not only furnishes a technique for producing electrocatalysts with superior efficiency and stability but also streamlines the process of choosing the most appropriate metal support. Moreover, it enhances comprehension of the interaction between Pt and the metal support.

Abstract
AgO, CoO, and ZnO (ACZ) mixed metal quantum dots (QDs) were synthesized by the sol-gel process. Polyaniline (PANI) was prepared by the chemical-oxidative technique. An in situ approach was used for the synthesis of ACZ decorated PANI plastic nanocomposites (NCs). TEM, FTIR, FESEM, UV-visible, DSC, Raman, photoluminescence, and XRD techniques were used for characterizing the QDs, PANI, and ACZ decorated PANI NCs. Experimental and theoretical (DFT) studies were used to support the results. NCs were studied for their adsorption, magnetic, photocatalytic, electrical, thermal, photoluminescence, antibacterial, and anticorrosive activities. The plastic NCs of size 35 nm (observed from XRD and TEM) were found to be paramagnetic. UV-visible spectroscopy and DFT techniques were used to observe the optical band gap of NCs and show an almost equal band gap i.e., 2.75 eV. In 1.0 M H2SO4, the NCs show an 82.0% corrosion inhibition efficiency for mild steel. The adsorption power of the silica gel + NCs packed column was higher than normal silica gel column. A very small low-intensity D band in the Raman spectra confirms defect-free NCs. The photocatalytic activity was observed against methyl-red dye in visible light. The thermal stability of plastic NCs was higher than pure PANI and QDs. The NCs were investigated for bactericidal activity against Gram (positive and negative) microorganisms. The ACZ decorated PANI NCs acted as good nanomaterials for adsorption, separation, magnetic, photocatalytic, photoluminescence, antibacterial, electrical, thermal insulator, and anticorrosive agent.

Abstract
The excellent electrical conductivity of graphene is due to its highly-conjugated structures. Manipulation of the electronic and mechanical properties of graphene can be achieved by controlling the destruction of its in-sheet conjugation system. Herein, we report the preparation of CoCeSx -SA@BPMW@RGO through π-π stacking interactions at the molecular level. In this study, sodium alginate was reacted with Co2+ and Ce3+ , and the composite was loaded onto a graphene surface. The graphene sheets were prepared using a bi-pyrene terminated molecular wire (BPMW) to avoid re-stacking of the grapheme sheets, thereby forming nanoscale spaces between sheets. The angle between the BPMW coplanar pyrene group and the phenyl group was 33.2°, and the graphene layer is supported in an oblique direction. Finally, a three-dimensional porous composite was obtained after annealing and vulcanization. The obtained CoCeSx -SA@BPMW@RGO exhibited excellent electrical conductivity and remarkable cycle stability. When the current density was 1 A g-1 , its specific capacitance was as high as 1004 F g-1 . BPMW modifies graphene through the synergistic effect of π-π stacking interaction and special structure to obtain excellent electrochemical performance. Moreover, a solid-state asymmetric supercapacitor device was fabricated based on the synthesized CoCeSx -SA@BPMW@RGO hybrid, which exhibited a power density of 979 W kg-1 at an energy density of 23.96 Wh kg-1 .

Abstract
The composite material composed of zinc sulfide, copper sulfide and porous carbon is prepared in this study, exhibiting excellent performances in the field of supercapacitor electrode and photocatalysts. In the degradation process of organic pollutants, zinc sulfide/copper sulfide with heterostructure effectively reduce the recombination rate of photo-generated electron-hole pairs. And the porous carbon substrate can not only accelerate the separation of photo-carriers but also provide numerous active sites. Furthermore, the sample can be easily separated after decomposing the organic pollutants. As a supercapacitor electrode, the combination of zinc sulfide/copper sulfide with large pseudo-capacitance and porous carbon material with excellent double-layercapacitance results in superior electrochemical performances. The composite electrode shows a high specific capacitance of 1925 mF cm-2/0.53 mAh cm-2 at 4 mA cm-2. And the symmetric flexible supercapacitor based on the composite electrode achieves an outstanding energy density (0.39 Wh cm-2 at the power density of 4.32 W cm-2). Therefore, the zinc sulfide/copper sulfide/porous carbonized cotton nanocomposites (pCZCS) prepared herein exhibit dual functions of photocatalysts with high efficiency as well as energy storage materials with high energy density, which is interesting and important for expanding the practical applications in cross fields.

Abstract
This review gives an overview of the electrochemical investigations about the properties of various types of graphene composites in the ethanol oxidation. Various routes to provide appropriate graphene-based materials required electrochemical techniques for investigation of different types of the materials as well as their performance and efficacy in ethanol oxidation are discussed in detail. Furthermore, it is demonstrated that the incorporation of suitable materials, e. g. noble metals (graphene-supported binary and ternary metal nanoparticles), metal oxides, conductive polymer, etc, with graphene results in excellent electrocatalytic activity, superb durability and selectivity in ethanol oxidation. Immobilization of electrocatalytically active NPs on graphene supports using physical approaches is considered as an effective route to prepare direct ethanol fuel cell (DEFC) anode catalysts.

Abstract
Due to its high potential for the formation of carbon-carbon bonds, Michael addition reaction is one of the closest reactions to the heart of synthetic organic chemists. Electrochemistry presents a very stimulating and divergent resource for selective oxidation and reduction in organic chemistry, generating activated species, for example radical anions or radical cations. In this review, we try to underscore usefulness of electrogenerated Michael addition reaction with the hope of encouraging synthetic organic chemists to contemplate it, as an efficient and green strategy when it is required in their designed multi-step reaction pathways.

Abstract
Among various immobilizing materials, conductive polymer-based nanocomposites have been widely applied to fabricate the biosensors, because of their outstanding properties such as excellent electrocatalytic activity, high conductivity, and strong adsorptive ability compared to conventional conductive polymers. Electrochemical biosensors have played a significant role in delivering the diagnostic information and therapy monitoring in a rapid, simple, and low cost portable device. This paper reviews the recent developments in conductive polymer-based nanocomposites and their applications in electrochemical biosensors. The article starts with a general and concise comparison between the properties of conducting polymers and conducting polymer nanocomposites. Next, the current applications of conductive polymer-based nanocomposites of some important conducting polymers such as PANI, PPy, and PEDOT in enzymatic and nonenzymatic electrochemical biosensors are overviewed. This review article covers an 8-year period beginning in 2010.

Abstract
We introduce a simple and facile strategy for dispersing of nanoparticles within a p-type conducting polymer matrix by in situ electropolymerization using oxalic acid as the supporting electrolyte. Coatings prepared from polypyrrole-nano-metal oxide particles synthesized by in situ polymerization were found to exhibit excellent corrosion resistance much superior to polypyrrole (Ppy) in aggressive environments. The anti-corrosion behavior of polypyrrole films in different states and the presence of TiO2, Mn2O3 and ZnO nanoparticles synthesized by electropolymerization on Al electrodes have been investigated in corrosive solutions using potentiodynamic polarization and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. The electrochemical response of the coated electrodes in polymer and nanocomposite state was compared with bare electrodes. The use of TiO2 nanoparticles has proved to be a great improvement in the performances of polypyrrole films for corrosion protection of Al samples. The polypyrrole synthesized in the presence of TiO2 nanoparticles coated electrodes offered a noticeable enhancement of protection against corrosion processes. The exceptional improvement of performance of these coatings has been associated with the increase in barrier to diffusion, prevention of charge transport by the nanosize TiO2, redox properties of polypyrrole as well as very large surface area available for the liberation of dopant due to nano-size additive.
