Abstract
Structure engineering of zirconium-based metal organic frameworks (MOFs) aims to develop efficient catalysts for transforming intermittent renewable energy into value-added chemical fuels. In order to have a deeper understanding of industrial scaling, it is vital to ascertain the favourable operational parameters that are necessary for projecting at the atomic level. The proposed paradigm provides a robust basis for the efficient design of MOFs based heterogeneous photocatalysts. In this study, set of defective MOF (D-NUiO66) was effectively produced using a modular acidic method. Afterwards, the D-NUiO66 was combined with CeO2 to form the D-CeNUiO66 heterojunction for the purpose of carbon dioxide reduction. The morphological aspect of the composite investigation suggested that D-CeNUiO66 had a mesoporous structure with favourable adsorption properties. The optimized D-CeNUiO66 photocatalyst showed the high activity for the reduction of CO2 to CO, with a rate of 38.6 µmolg-1h-1 and demonstrated remarkable repeatability in terms of CO production. The incorporation of defect sites in the D-NUiO66 enhanced the light response to visible light, resulting in reduced band gap of 2.9 eV. The photoelectrochemical tests indicated that the introduction of defects in the UiO66 and coupling CeO2 in the D-CeNUiO66 composite induced fast charge transfer, therefore suppressing the charge recombination rate. This study provides valuable insights into the use of defective engineering and heterojunction approaches to metal-organic frameworks for photocatalytic applications.

J Colloid Interface Sci 2024; 653:67-76. Abstract
Reasonably designing and constructing efficient artificial S-mechanism photocatalysts, expanding their application in the field of photocatalytic organic synthesis, have become a hot and challenging topic in the photocatalysis. Herein, a series of coral-like W18O49@TpPa-H (TpPa-H represents COFs generated by the reaction of 1,3,5-triformylphloroglucinol (Tp) and p-phenylenediamine (Pa-H)) composites were successfully prepared by using a simple in-situ encapsulation strategy. Given the internal electric field at the S-scheme interface, W18O49 acts as an oxidative photocatalyst with sufficient positive valence band (VB) position and TpPa-H as a reductive one with enough negative conduction band (CB) position for the efficient amines oxidative coupling to imines. The resulting W18O49@TpPa-H-0.1 hybrid material shows both optimal benzylamine to imine conversion and selectivity exceeding 99 % within 4 h under 10 W 420 nm LED light irradiation, which is 9.9 and 2.8 fold greater than that of W18O49 and TpPa-H, respectively. The photocatalytic activity is even extended to 740 nm. Furthermore, the photocatalytic mechanism research confirmed that a high efficiency S-scheme heterojunction was formed between W18O49 and TpPa-H, and multiple active species, such as ·O2-, 1O2, and h+, synergistically participated in the reaction, imparting its excellent photocatalytic performance. This work may open new avenues for the development of high-efficiency COFs-based S-scheme heterojunction for organic photosynthesis.

JOURNAL OF HAZARDOUS MATERIALS 2023; 447:130849. Abstract
Z-scheme mechanism was a promising approach to considerably enhance photocatalytic activity. In this work, the PDINH/NH2-UiO-66(Zr) (PNU) heterojunctions were made using a facile ball-milling method. As expect, the optimum PNU-1 composite acted as highly active photocatalyst with 97% Cr(VI) to be reduced within 60 min of LED light illumination. Moreover, the antibacterial rate almost reached 100% for E. coli and S. aureus in 4 h, which was more conspicuous than the others. The wider light absorption range, promoted charge separation because of Z-scheme mechanism and efficient generation of reactive 1O2, •O2-, and •OH contributed greatly to the enhanced photocatalytic activity. Meanwhile, the superior stability and repeatability of the composites were also demonstrated by five cyclic experiments and related physicochemical characterizations. Therefore, this work provides a novel insight for designing high-efficiency Z-scheme heterostructures between MOFs and organic PDINH for wastewater remediation.

Abstract
Inspired by natural photosynthesis, the photocatalytic CO2 reduction reaction (CO2RR) stands as a viable strategy for the production of solar fuels to mitigate the high dependence on highly polluting fossil fuels, as well as to decrease the CO2 concentration in the atmosphere. The design of photocatalytic materials is crucial to ensure high efficiency of the CO2RR process. So far, perovskite materials have shown high efficiency and selectivity in CO2RR to generate different solar fuels. Particularly, bismuth halide perovskites have gained much attention due to their higher absorption coefficients, their more efficient charge transfer (compared to oxide perovskites), and their required thermodynamic potential for CO2RR. Moreover, these materials represent a promising alternative to the highly polluting lead halide perovskites. However, despite all the remarkable advantages of bismuth halide perovskites, their use has been limited, owing to instability concerns. As a consequence, recent reports have offered solutions to obtain structures highly stable against oxygen, water, and light, promoting the formation of solar fuels with promising efficiency for CO2RR. Thus, this review analyzes the current state of the art in this field, particularly studies about stability strategies from intrinsic and extrinsic standpoints. Lastly, we discuss the challenges and opportunities in designing stable bismuth halide perovskites, which open new opportunities for scaling up the CO2RR.

Abstract
Industrial waste gas emissions from fossil fuel over-exploitation have aroused great attention in modern society. Recently, metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) have been developed in the capture and catalytic conversion of industrial exhaust gases such as SO2 , H2 S, NOx , CO2 , CO, etc. Based on these resourceful conversion applications, in this review, we summarize the crucial role of the surface, interface, and structure optimization of MOFs for performance enhancement. The main points include (1) adsorption enhancement of target molecules by surface functional modification, (2) promotion of catalytic reaction kinetics through enhanced coupling in interfaces, and (3) adaptive matching of guest molecules by structural and pore size modulation. We expect that this review will provide valuable references and illumination for the design and development of MOF and related materials with excellent exhaust gas treatment performance.
