Abstract
The study focusses on synthesis and modification of structural, optical and electrical characteristics of nanostructured titanium dioxide anatase embedded Poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) nanocomposite with different weight percentages (0.03, 0.06, 0.12, 0.18 and 0.24%) by the solvent casting method. Modification in the morphology of PMMA nanocomposites with an increasing amount of titanium dioxide anatase is studied by using a field emission scanning electron microscope (FE-SEM). Micrograms of FE-SEM show spherical shaped nanoparticles distribution in PMMA nanocomposites thin films. In optical characterization, transmission, optical band gaps, the real and imaginary part of dielectric constant, linear susceptibility, optical conductivity, refractive index and extinction coefficient are calculated using experimental data. It is observed that the optical band gap has an overall decreasing trend with increasing the weight percentage of TiO2 (anatase) in PMMA nanocomposites. It is also found that values of all electrical parameters decrease with increasing the weight percentage of TiO2 (anatase) in PMMA nanocomposites. All wavelength depending parameters are investigated in the wavelength range from 190 nm to 2700 nm. Single oscillator model is used to analyze the refractive index dispersion and estimation of the oscillator energy and dispersion energy of the films. The study is applicable to optical sensors and other optoelectronic devices.

Abstract
Ultrasound-assisted melt-extrusion method (USME) is a high-quality process used to produce polymeric compounds with an adequate homogeneous dispersion. This study evaluates white-color films of linear low-density polyethylene (LLDPE) prepared using TiO2 masterbatch obtained by ultrasound-assisted melt-extrusion at variable frequencies (USME-VF). LLDPE with three different melt-flow indices (2, 20 and 50 g/10 min) were used as the polymer matrix. The films were obtained from the dilution of masterbatches of LLDPE (melt-flow index = 2) at a concentration of 7 wt% TiO2. The morphology, pigmentation, TiO2 reactivity, and the mechanical stability of the films were assessed. The masterbatch compounds were evaluated by melt-flow index (MFI) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The contrast ratio, yellowness index and mechanical properties of films were also measured. The properties of whiteness and elongation at break improved in the films prepared using masterbatches with higher dispersion. Though the reactivity of the TiO2 particles increased during accelerated aging, it did not affect the elongation to rupture. The yellowness index was moderately affected in films that included TiO2 particles processed using USME-VF.

Abstract
In the presented study, a new L-cysteine-containing diamine is synthesized and fully characterized and its application for the in situ sol-gel fabrication of poly(ether-imide)/titania nano hybrid materials is investigated. The electron microscopic photographs (TEM, FE-SEM and AFM) of the resulted materials confirm the production of spherical nanoparticles with well dispersion and narrow particle size distribution which is a usual challenge in the sol-gel methods. In addition to the positive effects on the particles morphology, the existence of amino acid containing pendant groups in the structure of polymer chains led to the comprehensive interaction with titania phase. As a result, the improvement in the flexibility of polymer backbone (as one of the most serious difficulties in polyimides processing) is obtained while its thermal stability dose is not sacrificed (confirmed by TGA and DSC techniques).
