Abstract
A simple, novel, cost-effective and highly sensitive spectrofluorimetric method was developed for estimation of the nasal decongestant oxymetazoline (OMZ) whether per se or in its pharmaceutical preparations using colloidal silver nanoparticles (AgNPs). The method is based on the high catalytic potential activity of AgNPs on the fluorescence intensity of OMZ leading to 12-fold increase in its fluorescence intensity. The response was linear over the range of 20.0 to 700.0 ng/mL with lower detection limit of 5.0 ng/mL and limit of quantification of 14.0 ng/mL. The proposed method was applied to the assay of commercial nasal drops, nasal spray and synthetic aqueous humor. Interference likely to be encountered from co-administered drugs was studied. The developed method was optimized and validated as per International Council of Harmonization (ICH). An explanation for the drug-AgNPs interaction was proposed.

Abstract
Nowadays, carbon nanotubes (CNTs) due to their inorganic conducting, semiconducting, and organic π-π stacking properties are becoming innovative materials. CNTs have an adjustable size, large surface area, and other significant chemical properties. Due to their excellent electrical, optical, and mechanical properties, CNTs play an important role in various application fields. In the past decade, many unique intrinsic physical and chemical properties have been intensively explored for pharmaceutical, biological, and biomedical applications. The functionalization of CNTs results in a remarkably reduced cytotoxicity and at the same time increased biocompatibility. The toxicity studies reveal that highly water-soluble and serum stable nanotubes are biocompatible, nontoxic, and potentially useful for biomedical applications. Ultrasensitive drug determination from its dosage form and/or biological samples with carbon nanotubes can be realized after surface modification. The main purpose of this review is to present recent achievements on CNTs which are investigated in electrochemical and chromatographically sensing technologies.

Abstract
:
The electrochemical analysis offers a number of important advantages such as providing
information on pharmaceuticals analysis and their in vivo redox processes and pharmacological activity.
The interest in developing electrochemical sensing devices for use in clinical assays is growing rapidly.
Metallic nanoparticles can be synthesized and modified with various chemical functional groups,
which allow them to be conjugated with antibodies, ligands, and drugs of interest.
:
In this article, the novel developments to enhance the performance of sensor modified with metal nanoparticles
of pharmaceuticals were reviewed. A discussion of the properties of metal nanostructures
and their application in drug analysis is presented. Their application as a modifier agent in determining
low levels of drugs in pharmaceutical dosage forms and biological samples is discussed. It has been
found that the electrocatalytic effect of the electrode, sensitivity and selectivity were increased using
various working electrodes modified with nano-sized metal, metal oxide and metal/metal oxide
particles.

Abstract
This work details the study of the redox behavior of the drugs cyclobenzaprine (CBP), amitriptyline (AMP) and nortriptyline (NOR) through voltammetric methods and computational chemistry. Results obtained in this study show that the amine moiety of each compound is more likely to undergo oxidation at 1a at Ep1a ≈ 0.69, 0.79, 0.93 V (vs. Ag/AgCl/KClsat) for CBP, AMP and NOR, respectively. Moreover, CBP presented a second peak, 2a at Ep2a ≈ 0.98 V (vs. Ag/AgCl/KClsat) at pH 7.0. Furthermore, the electronic structure calculation results corroborate the electrochemical assays regarding the HOMO energies of the lowest energy conformers of each molecule. The mechanism for each anodic process is proposed according to electroanalytical and computational chemistry findings, which show evidence that the methods herein employed may be a valuable alternative to study the redox behavior of structurally similar drugs.
