Abstract
Cheese whey is a difficult and costly wastewater to treat due to its high organic matter and mineral content. Although many management strategies are conducted for whey removal, its use in composting is limited. In this study, the effect of cheese whey in the composting of sewage sludge and poultry waste on compost quality and process efficiency was investigated. Also, valid and consistent simulations were developed with Gaussian Process Regression (GPR), Support Vector Regression (SVR), and Neural Network Regression (NNR) Machine Learning (ML) algorithms. The results of all physicochemical parameters determined that 3% of cheese whey addition for both feedstocks improved the composting process's efficiency and the final product's quality. The best results obtained through hyperparameter tuning showed that Gaussian Process Regression (GPR) was the most effective modeling tool providing realistic simulations. The reliability of these simulations was verified by running the GPR process 50 times. MdAPE demonstrated the validity and consistency of the created process simulations. Moreover, a genetic algorithm was used to optimize these dependent simulations and achieved almost 100% desirability. Optimization studies showed that the effective cheese whey ratios were 3.2724% and 3.1543% for sewage sludge and poultry waste, respectively. Optimization results were compatible with the results of experimental studies. This study provides a new strategy for the recovery of cheese whey as well as a new perspective on the effect of cheese whey on both physicochemical parameters and composting phases and the modeling and optimization processes of the results.

Abstract
Cellulolytic bacteria were isolated from yak dung samples collected from different habitats of Sikkim, India. Isolate YE16 from the Yumthang Valley sample showed highest enzyme activity of 7.68 U/mL and was identified as Bacillus sp., which has a sequence similarity of 96.15% with B. velezensis. One factor at a time (OFAT) analysis revealed that an acidic pH of 5 with 37 °C temperature was optimum for maximum enzyme production after 36 hrs of incubation (13.88 U/mL), which was further increased after statistical optimization (34.70 U/mL). Media optimization based on response surface methodology predicted that Carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) and MgSO4 at concentrations of 30 g/L and 0.525 g/L, respectively, at pH 5.5 to show CMCase activity of 30.612 U/mL, which was consistent with the observed value of 30.25 U/mL and confirmed the model. The crude enzyme also efficiently hydrolyzed alkaline pretreated sugarcane bagasse, releasing 7.09 g/L of glucose equivalent with an ethanol production of 3.05 g.

Abstract
The impacts of microbial agents on nitrogen conversion during composting is still not entirely clear. In this research, a novel microbial agent containing two thermotolerant nitrifying bacteria was identified and its impacts on nitrogen conversion, bacterial structure and functional genes during cattle manure composting were investigated. The results revealed that the inoculation enhancing the maturation of compost, increased the total nitrogen by 13.6-26.8%, reduced NH3 emission and the N2O emission by 24.8-36.1% and 22.7-32.1%, respectively. Particularly, the microbial agents mixed Acinetobacter radioresistens and Bacillus nitratireducens (1:1, treatment group 1) had the best nitrogen preservation effect. Furthermore, the inoculation not only produced diverse diazotroph community but could strength the co-occurrence between core microorganisms to promote nitrogen metabolism. The metagenomic analysis demonstrated that the inoculation decreased the abundance of nitrate reduction gene (nirS, norC, nap and nif), and increased the abundance of hao, thus facilitating nitrification and suppressing NH3 and N2O emission.

Abstract
This study aimed to explore the action mechanism of fungal community on the enhancement of humification during chicken manure composting by regulating the core pathway of carbon metabolism - the tricarboxylic acid cycle. Regulators adenosine triphosphate (ATP) and malonic acid were added at the beginning of composting. The analysis of changes in humification parameters showed that the humification degree and stability of compost products were improved by adding regulators. Compared with CK, the humification parameters of adding regulators group increased by 10.98% on average. Meanwhile, adding regulators not only increased key nodes, but also strengthened the positive correlation between fungi, and network relationship was closer. Moreover, core fungi associated with humification parameters were identified by constructing OTU networks, and the division and cooperation mechanism of fungi were confirmed. Ultimately, the functional role of the fungal community acting on humification was confirmed by statistical means, that was, the fungal community promoting humification was the main group of composting process. And the contribution was more obvious in ATP treatment. This study was helpful to gain insight into the mechanism of regulators addition to advance the humification process, and provided new ideas for the safe, efficient and harmless disposal of organic solid waste.

Abstract
With the recent revolution in the green economy, agricultural solid waste resource utilization has become an important project. A small-scale laboratory orthogonal experiment was set up to investigate the effects of C/N ratio, initial moisture content and fill ratio (vcassava residue: vgravel) on the maturity of cassava residue compost by adding Bacillus subtilis and Azotobacter chroococcum. The highest temperature in the thermophilic phase of the low C/N ratio treatment is significantly lower than the medium and high C/N ratios. The C/N ratio and moisture content have a significant impact on the results of cassava residue composting, while the filling ratio only has a significant impact on the pH value and phosphorus content. Based on comprehensive analysis, the recommended process parameters for pure cassava residue composting are a C/N ratio of 25, an initial moisture content of 60%, and a filling ratio of 5. Under these conditions, the high-temperature conditions can be reached and maintained quickly, the organic matter has been degraded by 36.1%, the pH value has dropped to 7.36, the E4/E6 ratio is 1.61, the conductivity value has dropped to 2.52 mS/cm, and the final germination index increased to 88%. The thermogravimetry, scanning electron microscope, and energy spectrum analysis also showed that the cassava residue was effectively biodegraded. Cassava residue composting with this process parameter has great reference significance for the actual production and application of agriculture.
