Abstract
It is still challenging to achieve simultaneous and sensitive detection of multiple organophosphorus pesticides (OPs). Herein, we optimized the ssDNA templates for the synthesis of silver nanoclusters (Ag NCs). For the first time, we found that the fluorescence intensity of T base-extended DNA-templated Ag NCs was over three times higher than the original C-riched DNA-templated Ag NCs. Moreover, a "turn-off" fluorescence sensor based on the brightest DNA-Ag NCs was constructed for the sensitive detection of dimethoate, ethion and phorate. Under strong alkaline conditions, the P-S bonds in three pesticides were broken, and the corresponding hydrolysates were obtained. The sulfhydryl groups in the hydrolyzed products formed Ag-S bonds with the silver atoms on the surface of Ag NCs, which resulted in the aggregation of Ag NCs, following the fluorescence quenching. The fluorescence sensor showed that the linear ranges were 0.1-4 ng/mL for dimethoate with a limit of detection (LOD) of 0.05 ng/mL, 0.3-2 µg/mL for ethion with a LOD of 30 ng/mL, and 0.03-0.25 µg/mL for phorate with a LOD of 3 ng/mL. Moreover, the developed method was successfully applied to the detection of dimethoate, ethion and phorate in lake water samples, indicating a potential application in OP detection.

Abstract
Doped carbon dots have attracted great attention from researchers across disciplines because of their unique characteristics, such as their low toxicity, physiochemical stability, photostability, and outstanding biocompatibility. Nitrogen is one of the most commonly used elements for doping because of its sizeable atomic radius, strong electronegativity, abundance, and availability of electrons. This distinguishes them from other atoms and allows them to perform distinctive roles in various applications. Here, we have reviewed the most current breakthroughs in nitrogen-doped CDs (N-CDs) for fluorescent sensor applications in the last five years. The first section of the article addresses several synthetic and sustainable ways of making N-CDs. Next, we briefly reviewed the fluorescent features of N-CDs and their sensing mechanism. Furthermore, we have thoroughly reviewed their fluorescent sensor applications as sensors for cations, anions, small molecules, enzymes, antibiotics, pathogens, explosives, and pesticides. Finally, we have discussed the N-CDs' potential future as primary research and how that may be used. We hope that this study will contribute to a better understanding of the principles of N-CDs and the sensory applications that they can serve.

Abstract
In this work, a novel nitrogen (N)-doped carbon dots (N-CDs) was prepared with quercetin as the carbon source and o-phenylenediamine as the nitrogen source by hydrothermal synthesis, and their application as fluorophores for selective and sensitive determination of oxytocin were reported. The fluorescence quantum yield of the as-prepared N-CDs, which exhibited good water solubility and photostability, was about 6.45 % using rhodamine 6 G as reference substance, and the maximum excitation (Ex) and emission (Em) wavelength were 460 nm and 542 nm, respectively. The results illustrated that the direct fluorescence quenching of N-CDs fluorophore for the detection of oxytocin achieved good linearity in the range of 0.2-5.0 IU/mL and 5.0-10.0 IU/mL, the correlation coefficients were 0.9954 and 0.9909, respectively, and the detection limit was 0.0196 IU/mL (S/N = 3). The recovery rates were 98.8∼103.8 % with RSD= 0.93 %. The interference experiments showed that common metal ions, possible impurities introduced in production and coexisting excipients in the preparation had little adverse influence on selective detection of oxytocin by the developed N-CDs based fluorescent detection method. The mechanism study on the fluorescence quenching of N-CDs by oxytocin concentrations under the given experimental conditions demonstrated that there were internal filtration effect and static quenching in the system. The developed fluorescence analysis platform for the detection of oxytocin had been proved to be rapid, sensitive, specific and accurate, and to be used for the quality inspection of oxytocin.

Abstract
Pesticide usage is one of the significant issues in modern agricultural practices; hence, monitoring pesticide content and its degradation is of utmost importance. A novel and simple one-pot deep eutectic solvent-based solvothermal method has been developed for the synthesis of FeVO4/reduced graphene oxide (FeV/RGO) nanocomposite. The band gap of FeV decreased upon anchoring with RGO. Enhanced activity in the detection and photocatalytic degradation has been achieved in the FeV/RGO nanocomposite compared to pure FeV and RGO. FeV/RGO was used to modify glassy carbon electrode (GCE), and the fabricated electrode was evaluated for its electrochemical detection of methyl parathion (MP). The amperometric technique was found to be more sensitive with a 0.001-260 μM (two linear ranges; 0.001-20 and 25-260 μM) wide linear range and low limit of detection value (0.70 nM). The practical applicability of modified GCE is more selective and sensitive to real samples like river water and green beans. Photocatalytic degradation of MP has been examined using FeV, RGO, and FeV/RGO nanocomposite. FeV/RGO managed to degrade 95% of MP under solar light in 80 min. Degradation parameters were optimized carefully to attain maximum efficiency. Degradation intermediates were identified using liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry analysis. The degradation mechanism has been studied in detail. FeV/RGO could serve as a material of choice in the field of electrochemical sensors as well as heterogeneous catalysis toward environmental remediation.

Abstract
A novel dual-emission ratiometric fluorescent sensor for biogenic amines (BAs) was prepared by simple mixing blue fluorescent carbon dots (CDs) and yellow fluorescent CdTe quantum dots (CdTe QDs). Based on different sensitive properties of pH, CdTe QDs and CDs were used as the response signal and internal reference signal, respectively. The developed ratiometric fluorescent sensor achieved quantitative analysis of eight kinds of BAs with rapid response (30 s) and low limits of detection (1.259-5.428 μM). Furthermore, color-tunable fluorescent test strips were constructed by easily assembling CDs and CdTe QDs onto filter paper. The obtained smart label showed a distinguishable fluorescent color variation from blue to green during the corruption of shrimp samples. The smart label with advantages of convenience and rapidness provided a method for visually monitoring the freshness of food samples.

Abstract
In this study, we have developed a sensitive approach to measure organophosphorus pesticides (OPs) using graphitic-phase C3N4 nanosheets (g-C3N4) combined with a nanomaterial-based quencher, MnO2 nanosheets (MnO2 NS). Since MnO2 NS can quench the fluorescence of g-C3N4 via the inner-filter effect (IFE), enzymatic hydrolysate (thiocholine, TCh) can efficiently trigger the decomposition of MnO2 nanosheets in the presence of acetylcholinesterase (AChE) and acetylthiocholine (ATCh), resulting in the fluorescence recovery of g-C3N4. OPs, as inhibitors to AChE activity, can prevent the generation of TCh and decomposition of MnO2 nanosheets while exhibiting fluorescence quenching. Therefore, the AChE-ATCh-MnO2-g-C3N4 system can be utilized to quantitatively detect OPs based on g-C3N4 fluorescence. Under optimal conditions, the linear ranges for the determination of parathion-methyl (PM) and 2,2-dichlorovinyl dimethyl phosphate (DDVP) were found to be 0.1-2.1 ng/mL and 0.5-16 ng/mL, respectively, with limits of detection of 0.069 ng/mL and 0.20 ng/mL, respectively. The advantages of this assay are user-friendliness, ease of use, and cost effectiveness compared to other more sophisticated analytical instruments.
