Abstract
To assess the dietary exposure risks of pesticide residues in vegetables for the general population, the presence of 39 pesticides was determined in 70 samples, of which 13 were detected. The most frequently detected pesticide was bifenthrin, with a detection rate of 35.7%, mainly found in gingers, followed by isoprocarb and acephate (11.4%) and dimethoate (8.6%). In 17.1% of the samples two or more pesticide residues were found. Acute, chronic and chronic cumulative dietary exposure risk was assessed. Chronic exposure risks were determined by Monte Carlo Simulation (MCS). Estimated chronic exposure to carbofuran, omethoate, disulfoton and dimethoate of approximately 49%, 52%, 40% and 3%, respectively, were at non-carcinogenic human risk. Acute exposure risk to acephate was considered to be of concern due to the high acute hazard quotient (aHQ).

Abstract
The release and accumulation of perchlorate into the environment have raised concerns about safety to food, however, the dietary risk of perchlorate in honey have not yet received attention. Herein, we investigated the pollution characteristics and assessed the human health risks of perchlorate in honey from China. A total of 151 honey samples collected from 20 provinces of China were analyzed, and overall detection frequencies was 95.4 %. The levels of perchlorate ranged from below limit of quantitation to 612 μg/kg, with a mean value of 34.5 μg/kg. Lychee honey samples had the highest mean perchlorate concentration (163 μg/kg). The mean concentration of perchlorate in the honey samples produced in South China was significantly higher than that in honey from Southwest China, East China and North China (P < 0.05). The health risk assessment showed that mean hazard quotient (HQ) values of different honey for children (ranged from 0.0108 to 0.400) and adults (ranged from 0.0123 to 0.453) were less than 1. This result indicated that mean pollution levels of perchlorate in various honey were unlikely to pose health risk. However, perchlorate concentrations in two lychee honey samples had associated HQ values were >1, suggesting potential health risks. This work not only offers valuable information for honey consumer, but also important reference for comparison of honey samples in the future. ENVIRONMENTAL IMPLICATION: Perchlorate contamination has become a hot environmental issue in connection with human health due to its potential thyroid toxicity and widespread occurrence in environment and foods. Honey not only was widely beloved by consumers worldwide but also considered a potential indicator of environmental pollution. Here, a national investigation and risk assessment of perchlorate levels in different types of honey from China was conducted. The results describe the perchlorate contamination were extensive in honey samples, mean levels of perchlorate in various honey were unlikely to cause health risks. However, significantly high level of contamination in lychee honey should be of concern.

Abstract
3-monochloropropane-1,2-diol esters (3-MCPDEs) and glycidyl esters (GEs) are food contaminants and have arisen continuous attention due to their toxicity, especially towards infants. Current risk assessment of these contaminants was mostly employing deterministic approaches, lacking quantitative characterization of the likelihood, incidence, or severity of the risks involved. Herein, 3-MCPDE and GE levels in 46 representative infant formulas (IFs) from Chinese market were determined by GC-MS/MS. Then, combining the occurrence data and consumption data from China National Food Consumption Survey, the Monte Carlo simulation-based probabilistic model for risk assessment of 3-MCPDEs and GEs in IFs from Chinese market was established. The results showed that all P90 (90th percentiles) hazard quotient values were below 1, demonstrating 3-MCPDEs didn't pose health risks to most populations aged 0-36 months old. However, for 0-12 months old groups, P10 (10th percentiles) margin of exposure values were all below 25000, indicating GEs may pose potential risks to 10% of this group. Uncertainty analysis revealed that the probabilistic model had considered uncertainties of model input and distribution, and realized refined assessment. This study is the first report on probabilistic assessment of 3-MCPDEs and GEs in IFs, which also provided references for the formulation of related regulatory limits in China.

Abstract
Abstract Honey is a matrix noted for its wide consumption as a sweetener and its anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and antimicrobial properties; however, its physicochemical quality can be compromised by the presence of toxicants such as pesticides. This review aims to gather recent information on pesticides in honey from the approach to their detection, understanding, and adverse effects on human health. A bibliographic and bibliometric analysis was carried out in academic databases limited to the last five and thirty years, respectively, comprising the keywords “honey”, “pesticides” and their types of pesticides or the agrochemical compound directly. It was found that there are about 30 pesticides detected in honey, in which organochlorine, organophosphate, and neonicotinoid compounds stood out for their concentrations concerning Maximum Residue Levels (MRL). Their physicochemical alteration was not well explored beyond slight variations in brightness and manganese concentration, and its consumption may have repercussions on human reproductive health. It was also determined that there was limited development on the scientific subject seeing that it is important to explore and investigate more on the issue due to the great impact of honey as a product of high consumption at a global level.

Abstract
Atrazine herbicide can bioaccumulate over time and thus affect humans for generations to come. However, scarce studies have evaluated its bioaccumulation potential in bovine milk, a nutritional staple for children and the elderly both domestically and internationally. This study aimed to determine its concentration in groundwater and bovine milk, as well as the risks it is likely to pose for human health. Eighteen dairy farms in the Pampean plain of Argentina were analyzed. A strong correlation was found between the chemical composition and the geomorphological characteristics of the plain. In addition, increased salinity was observed in the groundwater at greater distances from the aquifer's recharge area. Atrazine was quantified in 50 % of the groundwater samples (at values ranging from 0.07 to 1.40 μg/L), and in 89 % of the bovine milk samples (from 2.51 to 20.97 μg/L). Moreover, atrazine levels in 44.4 % of the groundwater samples and 11.1 % of the bovine milk samples (n = 18) exceeded the limits internationally established as safe for human consumption. The hazard quotient (HQ) values of the compound were negligible for children and adults, both in groundwater (child = 9.7E-4, adult = 4.5E-4) and in milk (child = 1.0E-2, adult = 1.6E-3). The estimated cancer risk (CR) values need further evaluation (child = 7.8E-6, adult = 3.6E-6 in groundwater; child = 6.6E-5, adult = 1.3E-5 in milk). In both types of samples, the HQ and CR of residual atrazine were higher for children than for adults. Nevertheless, bioaccumulation factors suggest that dairy cows have a moderate capacity to incorporate atrazine from abiotic matrices. This is the first report on residual atrazine in bovine milk in Argentina. The results presented here indicate that the status of atrazine contamination in the area should continue to be monitored in order to assess its long-term impact on public health.
